My rabbit has a red spot on the bottom of his foot. Can I do anything to make it better? He is always on carpet and other soft materials. I tried to upload a pic but it didn’t work. It’s red and about a quarter of an inch big

You may need to resize the photo for it to upload.

Rabbits can get a calloused bald spot on the “heel” area of the hock. But if this has become red, it may be getting inflammed. I’ve used sudocreme on spots like this before, to help heal and soothe them. It’s very thick, so stays on pretty well.

The carpet may be part of the problem…some carpet can be abrasive on the fur. Does he have access to a lot of areas in his home or just one room? Laying down somw e old cotton sheets on the carpet might help. Memory foam bath mats can be really good also. You could add some of those to his habit.

Thanks for that. I’ll look into that cream. He has access to every where but doesn’t like to walk on anything except the carpet. Sheets and memory foam bath mats are a great idea
