Alfalfa, carrots and apples got one of my bunnies fat very fast (she had to reduce afterwards). Only thing about alfalfa is high calcium levels. This can cause bladder sludge if you feed it for too long.
Unlimited pellets all day long would help a lot so she never goes hungry. There are alfalfa and timothy pellets, maybe you could start with alfalfa and as she gains weight slowly switch by mixing increasing amounts of timothy pellets.
Hi drwil, I managed to find some pellets containing alfalfa today and I will be mixing them with timothy pellets. Good news also because today she gained some weight for the first time since bringing her home on monday. I’m giving her 30ml critical care twice a day now which she gulps down in about 2 minutes. I’ve been giving her some apple also but I don’t want to give her too much sugar.
She hadn’t lost a lot weight (she weighed 2100 grams on monday, 2040 yesterday, now 2060). But she is so skinny you can feel every bone in her body. Apparently she had babies and rejected them + stopped eating. Anyway things are going in the right direction.
Thanks for the help and I will post pics later.
