My rabbit Dewey is 12-13 years old.  He has had many health issues over the years.  He has (and has had for many years) chronic kidney disease.  Recently he was diagnosed with thymoma.  The cancer is very small at this stage.  I know he doesn’t have  a long time.  My vet and I agree that keeping him comfortable is the goal at this point.

He is hungry, but very picky now.  Not much into veggies.  Eats pellet and a bit of hay.  I have added alfalfa to try and keep some weight on him. I supplement his intake with critical care and he really eats it up.  Still loves his occasional apple and banana slices, and a bit of oats.

Any ideas or suggestions on foods that might interest my Dewey?

Is he into herbs? Thyme, rosemary, basil etc. It’s good that he’s still taking Critical Care. That would give him some fiber to keep his guts going.

12-13 years is amazing for a bunny. Sorry to hear about his troubles and hopefully he gets to enjoy his remaining time on earth xx

You’re already doing all the things I was going to suggest, but just wanted to say how amazing it is that he’s over 12! I hope you can enjoy your time with him.

One suggestion – it’s not very fattening, but might interest him, flower petals – my buns love rose petals, sunflower petals, cornflowers and marigolds
