I assume that the hay and pellets are not too old and are still fresh. You can definitely feed the bunny the timothy hay. It might be best to get some Oxbow Essentials Young Rabbit Food pellets. That has more of the dietary needs of a young, growing rabbit. So as not to waste the Adult Rabbit Pellets, you could mix in some of those with the Young Rabbit pellets.
At 3 months of age, a rabbit can start on greens and veggies. Just go slow. Start with one green, such as romaine lettuce. Try that for a week, then add in a second green. Keep adding a different green each week. You’ll find out what your bunny likes best, and see if any of the greens don’t agree with his GI system.
Thanks for the reply!
The hay and pellets are just a few months old (I bought it in bulk) but they still smell very fresh.
My fiance bought ‘Supreme Science Selective Junior Rabbit Food’. I’ve read on some sites that it’s best to give them as much pellets as they want – similar to the hay. Is this correct, or should I just measure out the pellets like I did for my adult rabbit?
