I have a funny story to share with everyone. 😀 I found out that my Netherland absolutely LOVES flute music. We sometimes have music on quietly, but she never really showed any interest in it at all until the other day, I was holding her and we had some flute music on. Her ears perked up and she got really calm and just listened. So the next day, I decided to try it again. I held her in my lap and she tried to get away and was not happy. Ears back. (She does NOT like to be held. lol) and as soon as I turned on the flute music, she perked her ears up again and relaxed and turned her ears toward the speakers. As soon as it stopped she tried to jump out of my lap and get away, but I turned it on again and she relaxed again. Haha. I also tried different music like soft tribal drums and upbeat flute. Nope! Not happy about that. Jumped away. Turned on oriental flute, Native American flute, and Celtic Flute and she just goes into a little relaxed days and keep her ears toward the music. What a little cutie! I love her! Anyone else have buns that like music? haha.

That’s cool! Now you know how to calm her down when you need too. I did notice some time back that my doe would become energetic when classical music came on. I haven’t tested it lately though. I’m sure others have mentioned their bunnies particular likes. I remember reading here about some that really liked stuff with deep bass and they’d sit in front on on top of the speakers.

I know that Pepper likes it when I sing but she HATES harmonica music!  We were listening to a CD of a song we were thinking of adapting and the harmonica solo came on and she jumped about a foot and started a-thumping.  Clearly she does not approve

My bunnies definitely have their preferences for certain sounds. They’ll put up with my singing voice to a point. (And for that I’m profoundly grateful they put up with it at all!) I usually have something calming on in the room with them, but after a certain hour, all must be quiet or I get thumped at for making any noise at all.

Generally I listen to a lot of movie soundtracks. Especially ones from my favorite anime movies. Since those are mostly calm sounding orchestras or electronic music, the buns seem to really like them.
I don’t notice that they respond particularly to any one kind of music or another though. How unique that your bunny likes the flute! It’s a great instrument!

thats sweet… its like flute music puts your bun into a trance! very handy to know. i haven’t actually observed pinky’s reaction to different music yet. i’m curious now tho! i seem to remember a thread from a long long time ago in the behaviours forum about some bun loving david bowie’s music

I meditate to ‘meditation’ music and noticed my bunnies get very very calm when the music is on. As soon as I turn it off it is like they get this huge rush of energy and both start running around their areas like crazy bunnies for 4-5 minutes.
