Hi, I’m hoping to get some advice from you experienced rabbit slaves.  My buns currently live in the kitchen, but this living arrangement cannot continue, with their x-pen taking up most of the kitchen, 2 people can’t pass each other so can only have 1 person in the kitchen at any one time and its not a particularly small kitchen (by UK standards that is).  So, the buns are being re-located upstairs into, what was, my craft room which I’m going to have to share with them.  Furniture-wise I think I have it sussed and rather than having furniture floor standing, the units will be going up on the walls, obviously leaving as much floor space clear as possible.  My question is what do I do with the floor?  I can’t keep the fitted carpet as one of my buns has eaten through the carpet i put in the kitchen. I’m thinking lino flooring, I’m assuming they will just eat wood laminate.  Am I barking up the right tree?  Is there another floor I haven’t thought of?

Also there’ll be a sofa bed in this room and I am really worried they will just eat it.  How can I stop them?  Are there any bunny-proof covers that I can buy to stop them chewing through?

All and any advice any of you can offer will be gratefully received.

A lot of bunnies don’t like Lino. It’s so slippery. I hope they don’t chew laminate because we are getting some installed in the near future and that would not be good. But I don’t have a rabbit room. I think people use cheap indoor/outdoor carpet sometimes. I’m sure you’ll get other thoughts on this.

I like Allure flooring. It is made of rubber but, looks like wood or stone. It is easy to install and, since it’s a floating floor, it can go right on top of whatever is there now, even carpet. It does not get glued or nailed down but, each piece sticks to the next so It makes a very water resistant floor.

For the sofa bed, you could use a pet deterant spray like bitter lime to prevent them chewing on it.

Hey Blue, is that a flooring people can use in their houses? Sounds like it. My dad really needs different flooring in his kitchen but doesn’t want to do anything fancy because he probably won’t be there much longer. It has a really awful carpet now that’s really thin and gross.
