Hello! Meet Florance (Himalayan) and Oswald (Netherland dwarf)!

I met Florance in 2014 at the pet store, and absolutely fell in love with the little guy. I would describe his personality as pushy, active, and nosy, very true to his breed. He is my first pet that has truly been my responsibility. Getting Florance prompted me to completely delve into rabbit care and biology; not so much as a bunny fanatic, just as someone who wants to take good care of her pets. Florance is five years old, neutered, and in very good health. His hobbies include getting into everybody’s business, annoying his sister, and cuddling with his mama while she watches TV.

I rescued Oswald in 2015. She was a breeder rabbit, and I heavily suspect that she was never properly socialized and/or kept in a 2×4 cage most of her life. I would describe her as timid, and the type to only ask for affection if you act like you don’t care about her at all. (Cats, anyone?) I don’t know how old she is, but I suspect about 7. She is about to be spayed within the month – if I was in charge of her financial care, it would have happened much sooner, but unfortunately I am not. I am delighted to inform you all that I have found a veterinarian who claims she has never lost a rabbit during a spay, which was so reassuring I was moved to tears. Oswald’s hobbies include eating parsley, annoying her brother, and spreading body positivity (she is a little chunky.)

I myself am not an expert in the medical aspects of rabbit care, but I can help out with housing and basic care.

Quoted your text because your pictures didn’t show up. I have a bias soft-spot for Oswald because Wick is an ND, and he wasn’t really socialized because he was a runt, so his mom and siblings really pushed him aside. It’s great you found a reliable vet. Eating parsley is something Wick can’t do anymore because for some reason it makes him pee like Niagara Falls for a day, haha.

Welcome, welcome! It sounds like you are taking great care and awareness towards your lovely buns.

            Gorgeous!!! Welcome Flozzy

ETA: Pic showing up in original post now.  Flozzy, if you posted them from a phone or tablet, it shows up as code. But one you go in to edit the post on a computer (or some mobile browsers) it corrects and it’s just a matter of them submitting the post again.

Wick, nifty trick with quoting to get the photos to show!  Is that because you’re using Chrome browser on phone or tablet? I seem to remember you mentioning that one.
