Hi I’m new here so I hope I’m doing this right.
Recently my rabbit (who is about 6-7 months old) came into contact with some fleas! My roommate’s cat, who has already been treated for fleas, got them first and then gave them to my rabbit. The fleas were pretty bad for a while, they got into the carpet and bedding. We’ve flea bombed the place twice and that seemed to really help. BUT I keep finding a couple on my rabbit here and there! I’ve tried the vinegar and water thing, flea spray (the one that’s safe for small animals at pet smart), flea combs, and none seem to do the trick. The only thing that seems to ACTUALLY kill them is dawn soap and water. I think this situation may have stressed him out, as I have to take him out of the house when we set off the flea bombs and I’ve been getting the fleas off of him with dawn soap and water. He is shedding a lot and I cannot tell of it is seasonal or not. I’m planning on taking him to a vet as soon as I find a good one in my area, but has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on what I can do until I see a vet?

Hi, I have not had experience with fleas but make sure to not give him a bath since that can cause a heart attack and then death.
Hopefully someone more experienced can chime in. I would try and find a vet as soon as you can since most things that kill fleas are sold by vets and he can become anemic if the fleas live too long on him.

Please don’t use Dawn soap or brands like Frontline to get rid of fleas. Frontline is alright for cats and dogs but are poisonous to rabbits. The best medication for fleas is Revolution or Advantage. There was a similar thread recently on this:

The shedding may be caused by skin irritation. Do check out the HRS site for a list of vets near you. https://rabbit.org/vet-listings/
