        Hello!
        Question about flea meds for my two buns. Does anyone do prevention monthly or do ya’ll just treat any other animals in your homes?? Just curious!

          I don’t think anyone does flea protection. A lot of those products are probably quite dangerous for rabbits. You shouldn’t need to worry unless your rabbits end up contracting them.

              Revolution and Advantage are safe to use. However, people typically use them to treat fleas rather than prevent them. Rabbits metabolize the treatment so quickly that it just isn’t practical. When we had our dog, we did keep her up-to-date on flea prevention though. Since the rabbits don’t go outside, the only source of fleas really would have been from her.

              And now, a public service announcement from your neighborhood forum leader…

              DO NOT USE FRONTLINE OR ANYTHING CONTAINING FIPRONIL ON RABBITS. It is toxic and many rabbits have died from having just one application. If you opt for a topical treatment, stick with Revolution or Advantage.
