I just adopted my bunny, Yogi, about a month and a half ago. I got him neutered and ever since then I have been alittle over pretective. I can’t tell if I am just finding things to be wrong with him or if it’s actual questions to be concerned about.

My rabbit is shedding–like crazy! It’s that time of year so I am not too concerned about this–there is hair where he is losing it so no bald spots, but he seems alittle itchy. I spend about an hour petting him and pull hair off of him every night. I noticed that his nose is alittle wet, not noticable to the eye, but if I touch it its damp. He keeps shaking his head, as if something is in his ears and goes through sneezing fits…now I am unsure if this is because he is shedding and itchy and allergic or because he’s got some kind of cold…..do I take him to the vet, are their home remedies??

The second thing is that I noticed his poops are strung together his hair, not frequently just one or two every one to two days I’ll see one. Last night he wasn’t all that interested in his food, I left it in there and an hour or two later it was gone, so he did eat it. This morning he did the same thing–uninterested, I am unsure if he has eatten it as I am at work ( I am going to go home at lunch to check and see). He still comes flying to his treats, and was very playful last night. He is pooping, I check between last night and this morning. And will monitor this.

I was trying to read up online about stuff, but nothing quite fits what I am seeing….

My bun doesn’t care about his food either. I think that’s just a personality thing. If he is eating it and still interested in treats, I really wouldn’t worry. My bun eats his dinner for about 10 minutes every night and then leaves it and doesn’t eat or poop from 11pm until 4am. Then all of a sudden eats and poops a ton. Similar thing with breakfast. So don’t worry about that.
Poops strong together are normal during shedding.
The sneezing and head shaking I don’t know about. I’d monitor it and if it really seems unusually frequent I’d make a vet visit.

Oh. Bald spots are totally normal too during shedding. The fur will grow back

The string of pearls is due to him ingesting fur-common in a shed. Try doing as much brushing as you can (a wet paper towel or hand plucking the big chunks works too). Also good to see if you can increase his hay intake.

For the head shaking and sneezing-worth a vet trip.
