        Hello!

I just brought home my new adopted bunny.  One of the techs at my vet’s office brought him in to adopt out.  He’s 3/4 lop and 1/4 california, and was born November 19, 2011.  The tech has his parents and grandparents at home, which I think is really cool.  I’m excited but also very nervous, not wanting anything to go wrong or to happen to him in my care, especially these first few weeks when we’re getting to know each other and he’s getting to know his new environment.

He’s litter trained for the most part, but I notice he’s left a few cocoa puffs (ha) outside of his litter tray and a few in the tray – I know it’s to be expected but I hope he stays litter trained.  I won’t be leaving him out of his cage while I’m gone or at night – he’ll only be allowed to be out when supervised.  Luckily I live super close to work and am home for lunch nearly every day, so most days he’ll only be locked up for 4 hours at a time.

        Rabbit Info:

        1. Rabbit name: Benjamin, but I’ve been calling him Benjamuffin
        2. Rabbit Age: 3mos
        3. How long has your bunny been with you? 2 hours!
        4. Spayed/Neutered? Not yet, will have fixed in May.
        5. Rabbit Personality Traits (Calm, Diva, Naughty, Feisty, Sweet etc) Not sure yet…he seems pretty chilled out and is adjusting well to his temporary new housing (am getting a large x-pen delivered tomorrow, and he’ll have loads more room than he currently does in a 2×2 cage).

        About me:

        1. Are you new to rabbits or have you been a bunny slave for a long while now? First time!
        2. What made you choose to have a rabbit companion in your life?  Personality, all the great stories my co-worker shares about his bun.
        3. Anything else that you’d like to share – hobbies, interests, talents.  I also have 2 hamsters – have had hamsters for many years and love them to bits, but they don’t live very long and I really wanted a pet with a longer life span.

good luck, there are loads to learn. he will change with age, at least my girl Furbee has. She is 9 mo and is entirely different than she was at 3 mo or 5 or 7months. Litter box trained, well, I keep litter boxes available and well maintained but 100%, don’t expent it will ever happen. puffs here and there is a given, he probably will use his box for peeing pretty faithfully, my girls do.
