FEEL SICK ABOUT FORUM POST

Ok i visit many animal forums and most are really nice etc but i have been on  animal lovers website and put some questions about cats and guinea pigs etc and once before i got a bit stressed as it all turned to subject of meat which i will leave where it was each to their own just not me.

Anyway today i go on to see a reply to my cat questions and someone has posted a set of pics of a kitten being burnt alive or at least that is what it looks like, i have sent a report and didnt stay on it long enough to delete it as made me feel sick and sad and confused… Has this happened to anyone else???? I will put the link to the site on if anyone wants to go and sort it out for me but other wise i will just leave the site alone. Does this sort of thing happen alot??? HOw horrible xx

That is awful. I can’t speak for other sites of course, but we try our best to not let those things happen here on Binkybunny. If you ever see a post that is disturbing or offensive, there is an alert function that you can click which sends the forum leaders a notification.

Ok i have just found another post from someone saying not to open any posts by flasha on there but unfortunately it was too late. I hope we dont get any of it on here x

This has happened on this forum too and it is immediately deleted (or as soon as we are notified). I think it’s people just being sick and cruel and unfortunately they see a good target for this on forums such as these.

I’m sorry this happened to you. Hopefully if you notified the site administrator they can delete the poster as well. I think that is the best thing that you can have done.

Arrrr thanks, really felt like i needed to tell someone about it. Yes i sent an immediate report, really disturbs and confuses me cant stop thinking about why people would be so evil. Then i suppose there are some really horrible people in the world, but it is like horrible enough that abuse exists but the sort of person who not only commits such crimes but likes to show you about it and knowing how much it will hurt people is just totally beyond me. i bet there isnt even a way to report of check the person, i wonder if they will have details of the person or they will all be false x

Peppa, that is so very sad. I am sorry that you had to see that. It makes me just want to give you a hug.

I also can’t understand how people can be so cruel to animals. It pains me to even think about it.

Yes, sorry you saw it – sorry it exists! It’s a double whammy, that 1st they commit this cruelty and 2nd they want to publicise it to people they know will be distressed. It’s an illness. Unfortunately, you can only report about the post on the site, not identify the person and report to police. Hopefully someone in their world has the sense to do that. I’ve seen it happen once here since I’ve been a member and it was promptly deleted. I never reply to such posts as I think the person is looking to antagonise and so I won’t take the bait. I do remember feeling rattled, confused and angry. I just have to believe if a person abuses people, animals – it’ll come back on them. In a way, you can view your reaction as a positive thing. Though it feels unpleasant, it confirms that you are connected to good, are not desensitized, have a sense of compassion – unlike those who do such things as you have witnessed. There’s more people in the world like you than there are like that person!

Arrrr thanks sirthumpsey and jersey that is really nice to say x yes we must stick together and concentrate on good things, i agree too i didnt reply just sort of panicked and reported it. I kind of believe in karma so yes it will come back on them in one way or another xxx Thanks for comenting, it has been removed thank god xx the lady there said something about it being called trolling and is often done on sites like ours xx

It does happen here once in a while, but everyone should know that the faster you hit the alert button, the sooner a Forum Leader can delete the post. BinkyBunny will then get the details and delete that member as well. One of the Forum Leaders will be around on any given day, so hopefully it’s less than a matter of hours before someone can get rid of it.

It does seem to be the dark underside of the Internet. Once of the reasons we don’t want anyone posting any personal information regarding names and addresses or age because they can learn too much about you. It’s sadly risky. If you think that you used to only know your immediate family, and maybe a few hundred people in your homes, neighborhoods, schools and jobs, it would rarely come up that you knew more than one or two very sick people in many years. But open it up to multi-millions with access globally, and it’s a very large potential number.

What I love about BB is that it’s helped me discover how many, many wonderfully nice people there are in the world as well.
