Our bunnies love their pellets, we have them with unlimited lucerne hay but everytime we put pellets into their bowl they run to it and eat it all really quickly. We have been feeding them in the mornings and nights now but they still just keep on eating them. We were just wondering if them eating like this means they are hungry and we should be giving them more or just really like the pellets and then we were wondering how much we should be feeding them.

8 week old bunnies need unlimited pellets, hay and water
Once they are 6 months it’s recommended to limit the amount ( although I had to at 4.5 months since mine was a guts with pellets )

Side note though – even once they are 6 months they will always guts their pellets and seem to need more it’s just cause it’s their favourite but from 6 months they do need to be limited

For now , let them eat however many they want the main thing is to make sure they are getting a good quality pellet ( sherwood , oxbow baby , burgess junior are good examples ) , one high on fibre. No coloured bits or seed mix ones

Boston’s Mama is correct But, if your baby buns start to ignore their hay for their pellets, youll need to limit pellets to about 1/8th cup per pound of rabbit. So if each bun is two pounds, youll feed them only 1/4th cup a day each.

Bunnies have a tendency to act like they’re starving when they are given foods such as pellets :p

Technically they can have unlimited BUT you’ll need to keep an eye on their hay consumption. I never gave mine unlimited because they didn’t eat enough hay.
