not bothered about the material, but something that is like a trough on the side which refills itself

              Is this for pellets?

I’m not sure how old your bun is but rabbits older than 6 months shouldn’t have access to unlimited pellets so I’m not sure how useful this would be..
Even if your bun is a baby (which I think it might be? I can’t remember, sorry!) then it will only be useful for a couple of months.

                No I don’t, sorry!
I know similar ones, like the kind bunny breeders use are located at tractor supply type stores, but I don’t understand your motives here. Sorry to be rude, but I honestly don’t support keeping outdoor bunnies, and the refilling type troughs are only for outdoor rabbits.

Indoor bunnies over the age of six mos should not be free-fed, but fed according to weight and size.
There are many other options for food containers that are much better. You could still use a trough if it’s easier to serve the food, but you can’t just fill it to the top. It has to be the correct amount. The typical amount for adults is 1 – 1 1/2 cups of pellets per day. Hope this helped!

I only feed my bun a 1/4 of a cup of pellets each day! And he’s maintaining a perfect weight. I don’t know why you would need a trough I just use a plain old bowl.

Ahh right, So after 6 months I don’t just keep a full bowl. That would render this quite useless then!!
My missus is the one who has had rabbits before lol.So she will know all this. Thanks for the info!
                    She’s an indoor rabbit btw.

Yeah. Outdoor bunnies have different requirements on feeding, because they don’t fatten up easily. My bunnies are larger, though. I feed all three of them one cup of pellets a day, while my Flemish Giant gets 1 1/2 pellets, and since they get lots of exercise, they have never gotten fat.

                        Your boy is absolutely adorable!

Yeah, like the others said, this isn’t necessary for rabbits kept indoors (or as pets)… I think these are used more by breeders who want to decrease the time they spend caring for their “stock”.

Rabbits younger than 6-7 months can be given “unlimited” pellets (I put that in quotations bc you still want to know the amount they are eating per day, and it’s okay if they run out from time to time).

After that age, you’ll decrease him to about 1/8 to 1/4 cup for a medium sized rabbit.

Daisybunz, that’s a lot of pellets! They eat all of that each day? How big are each of your buns?

My girl is smaller (about 4 pounds) and sometimes won’t finish her 1/4 cup.

                              Hay is always unlimited.
