It’s February! So time to change things up a bit. Or at the very least, start a new chat thread.

So we had a little furry visitor today and you guys will never guess what it was!

I am so excited we have a snow day tomorrow!!!! I get to spend all day with the buns!

Boy was he noisy too. His call was so eery and loud. Very upset I put him in a box I suppose.

Ugh. SO I decided to clean the fish tanks while I had a snow day… and I didn’t notice the hose fell out of my bucket on my 20gal. So now I’m trying to dry the carpet under my tank quickly without moving the whole setup. It was less than 2 gallons, as I was standing right there when it happened. But it did take me a second to notice. I soaked up most of it with paper towels, then rubbed in some baking soda, and now I have a fan on it. I plan on getting some resolve as soon as the streets are clear to prevent any molding. The only concern I have is that the water seeped under the front corner of the wood stand. Maybe like 3-4 inches. I am hoping this does not get mold where I can’t see. I sucked the water out from under it with a little vacuum that I use around the bun area. It has very good strength comparable to a shop vac, but it’s a lot smaller. I was thinking about tearing down the tank, but this would take awhile… and I just did a large water change so I’m pretty wore out. The carpet is already dry to the touch on top. Any advice? I know a few ppl have tanks.

Are you able to stuff some newspaper under there? That’s how we would dry out wet shoes overnight, stuff them with newspaper.

I can’t. The tank weighs a lot. I sucked most of it out and it’s drying pretty nicely. I have tomorrow off so if needed I will move it then !

Hair dryer! I don’t think you’d have to bother with moving it, with you sucking the majority of it up, so quickly too, I bet it will dry too fast to mildew/mold.

Bunnytowne that was me :p it has recovered quite nicely after I broke the tank down and started completely over. I got new plants and everything too so it was a blessing in disguise haha!

Okay, I think the carpet is completely dry! So I will be putting baking soda in it and then vacuuming, just to avoid mold… I’m highly allergic. I’ve never had any green water problems like that, I remember NBO talking about it, which is why I said “I know some of you have tanks”. Just didn’t want to pressure anyone into helping LOL. Anyway, I think it’s over. I’m thinking about moving everything from my 10 gallon into the 20 (live plants, snails, betta), but the betta would have to be in a divider thing because I have two. The natural planted tank is having some issues with sustaining the plants with just one betta in there. Plus, I get annoyed every time I accidentally stir up the sand and get dirt in the water column.

Also, just thought I would share… we are moving in April and everyone thinks we are crazy. One of our requirements for a new place was either hardwood or some other hard surface over 50% of the apartment/condo/house. We found this place that allows ANY pet with a pet deposit and it has industrial cement floors! It’s not crappy looking either. This place is very modern and VERY spacious. My family lives in the country so they think I’m nuts lol. I explained that I want a place where my buns can free roam and run EVERYWHERE! And then they understood… I’m just obsessed with the livelihood of my babies (My mother and grandmother have joined the insanity and call them their grandbunnies and great grandbunnies ) Ppl at work still think I’m nuts.

I’m going to be moving in the summer too!
I’m not sure where yet; I want to live somewhere less central where I can have a bit more of my own space. I’m not sure who I’ll live with though, all my friends are studying abroad next year! :/
We’re thinking of buying me my own flat, which is scary but exciting!

Well, I wanted something with a yard so I could grow veggies for the buns, but as of right now, that would require us to own a house. All the townhouses are VERY expensive. We were considering owning our next place, but neither of us feel like we are up to that responsibility right now. So, we are going to rent. We still have to tour the place, so this might all change after we go see it. It’s downtown, and closer to the “bad” part of the town than we would like. So, it has to be pretty impressive, otherwise we will be searching again.

Bunnytowne – You know, I don’t think the rabbits even noticed. I have seen many shrews, but never in my house and never with them screaming their head off. LOL The call is very hard to describe. It was like an Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Ee Ee Ee Ee, but the long tone was uneven.

Moving to a place with finished cement floors? Sounds very modern to me. It is sort of trending right now. I think it would be great for keeping bunnies out of trouble.

Okay, so, it’s been a long time since we saw our landlord. Today we asked the neighbors to call his brother, since they have the number, and finally we found him. He had surgery last Wednesday and is in the hospital.

I was THIS CLOSE to having the police kick in his door.

I am moving in 10 days. oh my gosh. We haven’t packed a thing because of the crazy snow storms, no power, my boyfriend is a snow plower in the winter so he has worked 50 hours in three days so far. I injured my thumb by smashing it in my car door last night, so I had to go to the er and get the blood drained from it today, and hung out at the grocery store for TWO HOURS because there was nothing to do (our grocery store has a restaurant, tv for kids and play area and was the only place with power and coffee for miles. everyone in the county was there lol)

my parents wanted me to go to their house but I can’t bring my bunnies so I said no. I can’t just leave my baby boys!

So my friend that got committed to the mental institute a couple weeks ago has been released. They don’t think he’s a danger to society or himself so why keep him there? He’s posting like mad on facebook. His sentences aren’t as intelligent as they usually are but I’m glad he can go back to having some normalcy. Maybe that’ll help him more than being tossed in some hospital doing nothing lol

Heh, well, at least they don’t just pop in all the time. We live far enough away that it is sort of an “inconvenience”. Still doesn’t stop my mother-in-law from throwing stuff in our face whenever she sees fit.

NBO – That’s good. Did they put him on any medication?

I’m worried about something I did at work today. I’m hoping I’m just worrying for nothing. Our eagle’s heater wasn’t working and it was the end of the day. So ran a new heater out to her enclosure. The cord wasn’t as long as the old one, so I had to stretch the cord and was unable to put it underneath stuff. I’m worried she will trip over the cord. Someone will be fixing it tomorrow, so I hope nothing happens over night. =\

My parents-in-law loaned us $7,000 for a car, no questions asked. We didn’t pay for like 5 months. They don’t even keep track of what we owe. Actually, that’s the biggest problem with my in-laws.

It’s fine since I will pay them back (and have been paying regularly ever since that hiccup) but my siblings-in-law have bled their retirement dry already.

he’s actually back at the institute again I think they shrugged him off or something because he’s definitely not any better. I’ll update again when things actually stay going in one direction and not all over the place with him. Until then continued vibes his way.

On a much brighter note, I purchased some new fish today. They are so pretty I’m really excited about them they are a type of rainbow fish. I’ll post a picture here in a bit. They are so fun to watch! They are in quarantine right now so they aren’t in my planted tank so it’s just a plain jane picture. But even then they’re so pretty.

Hey Jessie1990!  You can just let it dry on it’s own.  Mold only tends to grow when there’s a consistant supply of water.  Once it dries any mold that has started to grow will die.  Hope that helps.

Wow, I’m feeling a bit antsy about tomorrow. I feel so rushed and it isn’t even tomorrow yet. I have to do an event and I’m going be running around like a mad woman trying to get to where I work, pick everything (and everyone) up, and then get to the event. It’s one of those so much to do in so little time situations.

So my friend that was committed. He’s going to live with his parents in Houston for awhile. I actually talked with him today on facebook. For the most part, he sounds completely normal again. I understood everything he was saying and he held the conversation very well. So maybe hes just having “moments” but I think tpsince stopping meditating he’s snapping out of it slowly but surely. I didn’t ask if he was on meds (I feel as though that’s a personal question) but I’m glad to see he’s out of there and relieved to know that he wasn’t going to be “crazy” forever. He’s so talented too. Would’ve been heartbreaking to see him be like that forever.

I’ve been pretty much on rest orders until the end of November due to a stress fracture on my tibia, and I’ve been slowly getting back to doing my regular life for the last couple of months. I’m back to exercising regularly this month and I’m so happy! I’ve slowly started running this week, and I’ve started a new exercise class: Aerial Hoops. It’s so much fun! But I have close to none arm strength so it’s quite challenging. I couldn’t feel my arms after class yesterday and I’m very sore today. But I can’t wait until next week I got to hang upside down from the hoop, it was quite the feeling!

So I have an ill piggy.
Midnight had a little lump on his back two weeks ago so he got a biopsy at the vet. Well two days ago they called me back and said somehow the sample had been lost and they needed another. Aww shoot. I made an appointment for Wednesday, but today he shows signs of a URI so we went today instead. Got the second biopsy today and some meds. Poor boy.
Otherwise everything is fine. Bunnies still aren’t bonded, I am starting to wonder if I am too overprotective and interfere when I don’t need to…

Well today was insane. I didn’t even think to look to see if things were there ahead of time since they are always in the same place. Almost everything I needed was missing! I was scrambling around like a mad woman, panicked because I thought I was going to be late. You would be surprised all things you would need to take an owl somewhere. We had to improvise for some things, but somehow made it work. I was having nightmares last night about this too! Oh boy! o_O

Inspent my day snowboarding I improved so much since last time. I was actually able to stay up longer than 2 seconds. But I’m still really sore and can barely walk now because it took me awhile to figure it out. It was my second time snowboarding and the first time was like 2 years ago. But today I was able to go on the more difficult trails and actually stay up 90% of the time.

well my chromebook littles doesnt have sd card slot or cd slot   Thats ok it has plenty of usb ports.    I burned videoes n some music from pinky to flash drive n plugged it into littles.  ( google chrome)  wont play says error.    

The pictures i stored on flashdrive i can view on littles i can view but cant upload to littles.  Videoes from phone wont upload to picasa from phone just pictures.  I can copy pics from picasa and photobucket to bb i think.  

was going to save to get a windows 8.  

my luck i would have the same problem.  I am just going to get a bigger phone tomorrow n maybe a new laptop a real one in a few months or so.  Then again maybe not.  I know pinky is on her last leg.  And for my music I have rhapsody thru my phone service so that is sufficient.  

I dont need cds or to buy downloads for music when i already got music thru my phone service.  Littles gets netflix  too.

I am interested in windows 8 tho   Mom’s boyfriend has one he has no idea what to do with it   I liked it.  I wonder if I can find a windows 7 laptop tho.  Besides from a pawnshop.  I dont’ know about getting one from there.

Awe NBO your friend committed.  They should have given him medicine.  I hope he stays on it when he gets out.  Thats the thing sometimes they dont.  I dont ever want to be committed.  I take my meds.  Religiously.  I wish I didn’t have bipolar but I tell you I don’t ever want to be without my meds.  I may commit myself if I ever have to do with out for a period of time.  Thats one place you don’t want to go.  Had friend who stopped her meds schizoprenic.  She would go out at 4am singing to Santa talking to the devil etc.  She died.  She had artificial leg.  Got out of bed at nite fell hit her head.  Died.  We hadn’t seen her in 3 days very unusual since she was really ill talking to people not there etc.  Guy busted open the door there she was by the bed. Dead.   Shame.  Her sister had her committed thru the court.  

The place stabilized her let her out she stopped the meds again was sick talking funny telling me my hairscared her and i have beautiful hair.  I will try to get a picture.

Well drawing conclusions about ethics wouldn’t be too difficult from the article, if that is what was being covered in your class. Otherwise, I think it would be interesting to write something about immortalized cells and how they differ from normal cells. That could be tied into cell development.

Hey Hazel, just saw your post – you may remember when we first got Fleury he injured his foot and rushed him off to the emergency vet where gave him metacam and did absolutely nothing except said to wait a week or two to see if he continues to limb. He limbed for about 10 days I believe and the very next day he looked like new. So I would just keep a close eye on him and see if he seems to be in excessive pain, is eating normally & poo’ing, etc. Do you have Metacam on hand to give him by any chance? Just to help? My vet is really good about just having some for us to pick up when something comes up, maybe your vet would be willing to do the same? Just a thought!

I miss the monthly threads so much! So busy. I try to have time on here but I never do it seems. Tonight however, I”ve been having terrible sinus pain. Just took some nasal spray, sudafed, and ibuprofen. Worked but now I can’t sleep!

Anyone good at maths and time-differences? Please help me out. When I look up Pacific time, it says the time-difference between Pacific time and my location is 8 hours. But it’s 3 AM Pacific time now, whereas its noon here. This must mean a time-difference of 9 hours or am I missing sth? I’m asking because I’m starting a MOOC-course at noon Pacific time and I need to know if I can go to the gym between 7 & 8 pm tonight.

y’all might have missed that cuz my post was way down there from the body of my text.   Anyway

I lost my account on pinky.  I cannot get into my user.  I can get into hubby’s.  I thought I lost all my pics media music and videos.  Then I remembered it uploaded to a website on google     I had to find it. 

So I got onto littles and searched n search my apps.  Finally I found it all on google plus.  Its all there I can view and copy paste and play videos. Music well nope.  But thats on my phone.  And I can’t play speakers  on pinky cuz they have usb and headphone to plug in at same time and 1 cd pinky won’t play.  OH dear.  and i cna’t play from flash drive to littles.  Anyway my phone will definitely do. 

So I didn’t love my stuff after all what a relief.  Now to figure out how to get it onto facebook.  I am tired of fidgiting with tech nology.  I got a new phone.  My phone was shot.  Died at noon last i months and was very hot when I charged it.  Store told me was shot was old.  I like my new one.  Have learned it. Like it and figured out now to get my ringtones back on it.  Myxer wasn’t texting them to me had to get app on phone then get it on.

Had enuf of technology for a while lol.

My sister used to live in the Middle East and they don’t change their clocks during the year, so sometimes it was an 8 hour diff. and sometimes 9. Do they change their clocks in Sweden?

Hi Tanlover, I hear you about the sinuses. I avoid Sudafed at night for that reason. Have you tried sleeping on an ice pack? I used to snuggle w/ a hot water bottle, which was emotionally snuggly but did nothing for the pain. Now I sleep on ice packs/frozen rice packs… and it numbs my face and I’m in total bliss!

I’m cat-sitting this week, went to take care of her last night and couldn’t get back out of the house! I could tell the doorknob was funny when I started Friday, but then it totally died Sunday, fortunately while I was IN the house. Hubby had to come rescue me (I could let him in the front), took the door jam off and duct-taped the thingy inside so it wouldn’t catch again. It’s a door in the garage, so not worried about security. I was laughing so hard when I called home!!

I wonder if I could get some positive vibes for my husband – he goes in Saturday for a CAT Scan – last year he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and went through some radiation and chemo but it did not shrink the lung tumor by much – the important thing is that the CAT Scan it does not shown an increase in the tumor – fingers crossed. One of his lungs has pretty much completely collapsed from the tumor. The cancer had spread to his lymp nodes, his liver and his bones – his liver seemed to show signs of improvement which was good. I guess the bones are usually the last to heal and he is getting bone treatment but his hip has been hurting and he’s afraid it’s spread to his hip bone. He also had a catheter put in to help drain his lung fluids and that has helped with his quality of life. He goes through ups and downs feeling hopeful and not so hopeful. So please send some positive vibes his way…thank you.

tanlover: Thanks so much for your advice! Hubby said the same thing, wait and see how he does. I was so upset and thought we needed to take him to the vet. Well, this morning we checked on him, I let him out to hop around after putting him on cage rest for the previous 24 hours. He looks fine now, I can’t see any more limping. Maybe he just stubbed a toe yesterday. I’m so happy he’s better and I’m thankful it didn’t take 10 days like with your Fleury, that must have been so hard for you! The Metacam is a good thing to have on hand, I’ll definitely look into getting some, thank you.

So, the bug guy had his visit this morning. Sadly, the rabbits have to stay with me at my parent’s house until my car is fixed (hopefully tomorrow). Of course, Moogle went off his food again… This bun stresses me out so bad. There were only a few poops when I left the house for work, so I will have to check and see how he is when I get to the house. I even brought his entire x-pen/linoleum/wood setup to try to alleviate the stress. He seemed very anxious to see what Ashe was doing across the room, so I moved her where he could see her. Hopefully that helps the situation and doesn’t make it worse.

So I am waiting to see if I will be called for an interview. I think the cut off for applying is later this week so they probably won’t call until after that. I thought about calling them. Is that considered being pushy?
My one job also has a new position open. It is something that I could do, but I’m not sure if it would take me where I want to go (so to speak). I’m really just looking to get more than 30 hours a week since that will be a requirement for when I have to start paying back my student loans. Well, I would have a combined more than 30 hours per week if I were to get the job I really want as well. I’m just doubtful that I will get it since I applied once before and was turned down.

My one job also has a new position open. It is something that I could do, but I’m not sure if it would take me where I want to go (so to speak). I’m really just looking to get more than 30 hours a week since that will be a requirement for when I have to start paying back my student loans.

Well, never mind this one. I was informed that it would be 28 hours or less. The new position itself is 20 hours per week, so that would leave 8 hours for what I’m currently doing now (which I really enjoy). I don’t think I want to make the trade, this new position would not get me the experience I desire. Plus I would be stuck behind a desk all day. Right now, I get to walk around outside and take care of all the animals. I get to work on educational stuff like exhibits and school hikes too. I don’t want to give all of that up if I wouldn’t meet the 30 hour per week mark anyway. =\

Okay, so this job I really want. When should I try calling them? They are still taking applications through the end of this week.

LBJ, I know what you were going thru with should I or shouldnt I call. I badgered a place to death about a job in 1995. Literally called them everyday, reminding them I was still available yada yada. They ended up hiring for that position internally, however, that left another position open and they asked if I’d be interested in that one. So badgering sometimes works. (not that I’m recommending it!) If I were in your shoes, I would wait until the close date, and on the following day call back with something like: “I applied for __this job__ on __this date__ and just wanted to follow up. I’m still very interested and am available to start on __this date/immediately__. Thank you for your time and consideration!”

So now I feel bad because I feel like I jumped the gun a bit. I didn’t talk to them when they called, they left a message. So it is difficult to gauge how they were reacting to me calling. I don’t think I should call back again though. They might be like why is she calling again? Just to re-confirm that we haven’t started looking through the applicants yet? Gosh, I don’t know. =\

Speaking of jobs, I’m stressing trying to work out what career I want to pursue when I graduate. I don’t want to work in an office, or work 9-5 days. I want to do something a bit different, a bit interesting, and something practical.
I just don’t know what that might be….

Previously I wanted to be a makeup artist, but now I think that’s going to have to be more of a hobby for me. At the moment I like the idea of being a pilot, but I don’t know!
Any ideas anyone?

Don’t know what kind of job you’re applying for, or if you’ve just filled out an application or enclosed a cover letter as well, but my husband said he doesn’t think there was anything wrong w/ you making that one call. He had other ideas (he’s a manger of a technology group), but I don’t want to put my 2 cents in for something you’ve got figured out. So let me know if you want any other ideas. He hires people sometimes and has certainly been through job searches many times in his career and has a good idea of what professionals would be looking for.

Man I’m so upset I want to cry. The military is moving my husband to panama grave shifts. Which means he’ll be working 12 hour shifts from 7pm-7am. I’m never going to see him because he requires like 10+ hours of sleep to function on a normal shift and now that he’s not only being over nights but doing 12 hours he’s going to be sleeping ALL THE TIME. And I have rechid anxiety when alone at night. I’m already having a ridiculous amount just thinking about it and it’s making me take it out in him even though he has no choice or control over his schedule.

I hate when I get like this. I know how unreasonable I get especially because I’m completely aware of it and still can’t stop being a total $/)4$:& about it. Even on his days off he’s just going to be sleeping the entire day. He slept all the freaking time when he was on the 10pm-6am shift. I can’t even imagine how it’s gonna be when he’s doing the 7pm-7am! Ugh. I’m so mad and since I can’t take it on the military I’m stuck taking it out on him. Might as well just move back home because it’s not like I’ll ever see him anyways. They say you’re only supposed to be graves for 4 months at a time because of health factors but I know two of his friends that have been on it for over 2 years. It’s overwhelming just thinking about it. I’m gonna be so alone and I can’t stand being alone at night! My anxiety gets so freaking bad. Especially in this neighborhood! I mean a house 2 houses down was held at GUN point by the police because the guy living there. They had helicopters and everything. And my next door neighbor. Who’s house is like 10 feet from me is a repeat sex offender by the 4th degree who has to have an officer update his profile picture and information every 6 months. Freaking out starts. NOW. It’s only at nights my anxiety is bad when alone. And he just happened to get on graves.

No more having dinners together either because his night time is my morning. And his morning is my night time. I hate breakfast therefore never make it. I eat lunch for breakfast. And I always cook dinner for us and we eat together. Now I’m going to be eating alone. I’m gonna be so alone all the time. I have no friends here. It’s a military town so most people my age are partners and I hate alcohol. I’m just not into what most typical 23 year olds are in to. I guess I’m so upset because my husband is actually acting excited about going on that shift for some reason. I guess he’s more excited about changing jobs that he was only supposed to be on for a few weeks turned into a 2 years. Which I’m worried that’ll happen with graves. It’s supposed to be only a few months. But it’s gonna be much longer.

OK This is Mama Megabunny talking. I’m glad you ranted to us. You sound so young and lonely. Now it’s time to let go of that anxiety long enough to talk with your husband about it. He’s young and military, and I don’t know if he can let down the tough guy demeanor. But try to be honest with him out of loving and missing him, not anger. Where are you located? Are you able to visit family for awhile along w/ bunny? I do not blame you in the least for all these worries. Whether you have extreme anxiety or not, they are legitimate concerns, legitimate feelings and tough for someone so alone to add to their life. Holy cow NBO, I’m sorry. That really sucks. And it’s scary. I imagine you have no control over where you live either? I never could understand why people join the military. I mean, the complete lack of control over your own life. It’s scary. So he doesn’t have any sort of rank where he can push his weight around to get some flexibility?

So I came home from work last night and there was no electricity or running water in the house. Here’s my husband —–> “Happy Valentine’s Day”.
Yeah, what a great Valentine’s Day. The poop head decided to disconnect wires and pipes so he could reinforce the floor joists (for the bathroom upstairs since we will be getting a new tub). Well we were up late last night trying to put them in, but it was too tight a fit to simply flip the board up into place between the top of the basement walls and the floor upstairs. It took us 3 hours just to get one in and we had to use a car jack! We have electricity in one half of the house for the moment, but still no plumbing since we still need to get 2 more in. ***sigh

Oh no my husband definitely doesn’t have the typical “tough guy military demeanor” people always say he’s rather feminine lol I live in Delaware and all my family is in Texas. It he thing is that he has no control over anything. He gets what they call “voluntold” to do things. I’ve already talked with him. He’s going to try and a 7am-7pm shift. But there’s only 2 shifts. Day and graves now since they are cutting people since they have too many service members. I can manage the 7am-7pm shifts. It’s nights that I freak out. My anxiety is ridiculous when alone at night. But it’s not guaranteed he’ll get the day shift. But at least he’ll try. I’m going to try not being resentful towards him if he gets over nights. He can’t control it. It’s just my anxiety causing me to react this way And that’s something I should learn to control.

I understand a little about the military and “voluntold” is a familiar phrase and I imagine they wouldn’t care a lot what the wife wants. I’d like to suggest a dog, but don’t know what your situation is. I’m not suggesting a vicious dog that’s a walking liability, but something with a decent bark might be a source of comfort, yet a long-term commitment. Let us know how your’e doing.

I have two dogs. Ones a 12 pound who barks but it’s chihuahua barks. Not the most intimidating thing in the world. But I do have Brevin. He’s super friendly but actually today, he barked at my neighbor through the window who was outside. It’s weird he’s so friendly but when he saw the neighbor walking around outside he was growling and barking and he actually sounded REALLY intimidating even though he’s sorta small. His dog voice was very deep. So I’m actually relieved to know Brevin has a scary bark

Either way, I’m going to try not to stress about it. I just make up scenarios in my head when alone at night. Like when I hear car doors slam i get antsy thinking they are gonna come into my house because the truck is gone and so robbers would assume I’m not home and break in or something. I hate when the truck isn’t here at night time. It just puts a big target on my house haha so maybe I’ll leave a lamp on or something inside to make me feel mentally better

My dog’s 23 pounds and people laugh that I feel safe with him, but I’m sure he’d scare someone off and he’d definitely do his best to defend me. So today was pretty awesome! I went into the fish store and saw a honey sunset gourami. I have a soft spot for that particular gourami. But I already had a gold gourami and it’s advised to only house one gourami at a time. So I asked the guy of the store if he was willing to make an even trade with my gold guarami for one honey sunset. I showed him a picture of my big beutiful boy and he said yes! I loved my gold gourami. He was very beautiful but it was time for a change and I wanted something that stayed tiny like the honeys do. And they are the most friendly of the gouramis.

Then we stopped to check out a Mazda 6 2006 that only had 88k miles on it and we purchased that too! It was a good price and the car looks great. I was zooming all around town during the test drive. Everything is great. I love my new car! So now I have my own personal car. No more sharing and worrying about working around each other work schedules with the equinox lol AND now if my husband does gets nights, my car will be there and it won’t look like no body’s home. Which will ease my anxiety a little bit about that teehee!

I was a little mad at my hubby yesterday. I just recently started freelance writing for a little extra cash. It’s slim-pickings for the level I am rated as, so they are mostly dull, boring, scouring the internet for information type articles. I submitted my latest one yesterday morning. Since I have been coping with an eye infection (I get these periodically and we believe it’s due to computer eye), my hubby didn’t want me to pick up another article from the pool. The last one I submitted was actually fun for me. It was art and crafts so I got to use my creativity and was about a subject that I didn’t need to do a lot of research, since I knew the topic so well. Once I submit, I am allowed to pick another article immediately. YES!! 30something articles left to choose from!!
Hubby: Don’t pick one now, you’re about to go to bed.
me: but… they might not be here when I come back…
Hubby: They’ll be there, and if not, you can choose another.
me: yes but.. these are CRAFT ONES!!
Hubby: just go to bed.
So I went to bed. When I got up and checked, all the craft articles were gone, and there was only 1 other article I could choose from, which I didn’t want to pin myself down with such a boring subject that I’d have to do 3 times as much research (making it much longer to write) and earn half the money that I would have writing another craft article that I could do easily off the top of my head.

I should have went with my gut. Oh well, it’s another day! Picked up another crap article, familiar with the topic, shouldn’t take too long to write, once I start…

We both get annoyed when people are being noisy at the movie theater. I was so annoyed at the last movie we went to before this one because these people came in after the movie started, sat down behind us, and then proceeded to loudly crinkle the plastic bag that they smuggled food in with.
Last night we were at a movie, not too many people there (it was a late Tues night). I was fine until about halfway through the movie when my nose started itching. I kept trying not to sneeze, but I couldn’t stop it. Then it sort of turned into a fit. I needed a tissue after that. My husband was elbowing me and telling me to stop it. On the way home he said I couldn’t be annoyed with other people anymore because I was the “loudest” person there. He’s mean.

So Sally is getting skinny. Like REALLY skinny. I can feel her hip bones. And her ribs. :/. Harley looks fine. Chubby as ever. So I’ve been trying to feed them separately to make sure Sally is getting her share and Harley isn’t eatting all the food. Well Sally won’t eat alone! She’ll completely ignore her bowl and kept trying to go to where Harley was. So I put Harley in the cage and locked him up with his food bowl and fed Sally in her food bowl. She still kept just wanting to go to wherever Harley was. She couldn’t get to him so she just kept running back and forth at the cage to get in to eat. I showed her her food bowl. She’d take a bite only to run back to where Harley was *sigh* any ideas? Lol

It doesn’t help when I keep dwelling on things either. My boss got rather snappy with me yesterday and it has been eating away at me all day.

LBJ – I can totally relate to how frustrating writing about something that isn’t interesting to you can be. I’m still in school but hen I have to do big assignments on things that don’t interest me in the least it’s torture. I stare at the blank screen hoping it will write itself!

So high school counselors came in today to talk to us about classes and scheduling and such. The high school I’m zoned for is a very nice public one, with a TON of electives to choose from. The counselor talked to us about how it’s important to choose the right courses, and make the right decisions in high school… I picked my courses. I’m going for the advanced diploma, I was surprised to find that the majority of people in my grade chose the standard course. 

Classes I chose:

Honors English

Honors Earth Science

Honors World History 

Algebra 1st semester geometry 2nd semester (I’ve already taken algebra, but I want to make sure I’m solid on those skills before geometry)

French 2 

Intro to Small Animal Biology

Nutrition and Wellness

But now I’m unsure about what I want to do with my life. Ever since I was a small child, I thought I would grow up to be a horse trainer… but somehow I can’t picture myself doing it for the rest of my life. I’ll always own and ride horses, but as a career? It’s a hard business to get into, and it’s hard to make money without lying. And for what? So many horses get cruelly treated by their owners by the rider unknowingly harming the horse in the way they ride. I don’t know if I could watch that for the rest of my life.

So my next thought was a small animal vet. I absolutely love my vet, he won the Westminster dog show three years ago with his Scottish Deer Hounds. He’s practical, doesn’t do excessive and unnecessary vaccinations and doesn’t over-charge for everything. He’s very good too. I’d like to be a vet like him. Helping owners understand their animals better, giving accurate information and helping animals in discomfort. 

Then there’s another idea, but this one is a long shot. I’ve always LOVED the Best Friends Humane Society in Utah. I would consider working there, whether it’s for their equine rescues, rabbit rescues or dog rescues. I think it would really neat, a lot of work for probably not a lot of pay, but it would be such a nice thing to dedicate your life to.

But then I’ve also liked the idea of marine wildlife rehabilitation, helping the animals get back to full health so they can live a long happy life. I just don’t know, I think the vet thing is a very practical choice for me. Suggestions? I know it’s really early to start worrying about this, but I’d like to get an idea of what I want to do.

Lulu_rose – That’s just it. This IS interesting. This is my thesis topic. The thing I have been working on for years because it’s what I want my future to be. I just can’t seem to write.

Do you know what I wanted to do when I “grew up”? When I was in middle school, I wanted to be an artist. I was all set up to fast track my way into an art institute as soon as I graduated high school. I went to high school and I was placed in a higher class since I had already done so much art. Then my teacher HATED everything I did and criticized my work to no end. I became so discouraged that I didn’t want to put the effort in anymore. Why if she was just going to give me a bad grade anyway? So I ended the semester with a C- in that class. My dreams of creating a portfolio and getting into an art institute were crushed. The next year I signed up for science classes and never looked back. I guess the point of my story is that things can always change so don’t put all your eggs in one basket. You may find yourself changing your mind many times, even AFTER you are already in college. Oh my, so many people I know that changed their majors. But guess what. It’s totally okay. It’s just part of finding your way. =)

Wow, what a horribly unproductive day. I didn’t get much done and my wrist hurts from yesterday when it got twisted when some lumber I was trying to hold up was too heavy. =\
I guess things could have been worse. My mom had a bad day today. Her new car got smashed into by a runaway car in the parking lot. She was inside the grocery store when it happened. Talk about unpleasant surprises.

Wow, have any of you guys ever tried eating an apple around your buns?! I just spent the last 10 minutes in hysterics. I came into my room eating an apple, sat on my bed, and within seconds I had all 3 bunnies climbing all over me (literally, I had one on each shoulder), doing whatever possible to try and wrench my apple from not only my hands…but my lips. Rufus was climbing up my chest trying to get the apple from my mouth! They were like 3 adorable vultures. I am definitely recording it next time!

Hey LBJ Is the boss in a better mood today? My schedule at work got switched for the 4th time this school year, and it’s like starting the year over AGAIN. I was so stressed I stayed up till 11:30 baking a chocolate bundt cake. I brought most to work and saw the Vice Principal and told her if she wanted some, she should get it because it’s her fault I had to bake.
She like the cake so much she said she’s going to change my schedule again FREQUENTLY!!

Tried everything including bloking Yahoo completely and changing browsers and I still can’t get past this Yahoo Search webpage… It latches on and the next thing I’m on a Yahoo Search web page showing me links to BB and every one I click just gives me the same error message and all the while Yahoo is lobbing cookies at me. It did start at the same time as the updates but I can’t see how it could impact in this way.

Ok, he just called – he said to go to your control panel to add/remove programmes and ‘un’install ALL browsers (deletes everything). Once that is done he recommends you install firefox (1st and see how that goes?) google chrome (2nd choice). It’s up to you Roberta? But if you can’t get on BB using your laptop, it may be worth a try????

If this is what you have already done – sorry. It then has to be a nasty bug?

Hi, Everyone,
I would just ask you to continue to be patient before taking apart your own browsers. The BB site is down primarily during the time of night here our members from Australia tend to log. Because it’s night in Pacific time, that’s the best time to continue to do maintenance. BB and techs are working hard to make improvements to the site this week. It’s probably that you cannot access it at all times. Posts are made from BB or Admin (or other) to let you know when and if it’s closed for a period of time, which varies with time zones of course. I’d urge you to wait a bit longer, occasionally try to get on, and bear with us while this update is happening.

I posted in the Lounge my suggestion that you Friend/Like Binkybunny on Facebook and Twitter if you can’t get on the site Forums directly. They are working fine, Again, thanks for your patience.

Back in again via the work computer…. Don’t know what’s happening… I can see other peoples posts coming through in my email alerts so I know the forums are active… My Browsers are telling the site does not exist… I can get into the shop page but even after deleting and reloading all browsers I am still locked out…. What comes up every time is URL does not exist, unable to connect… I do a search, get links use those and then get the same error message… BB is the only site I can’t get onto so I just don’t know what else to try. Tomorrow being a Saturday I will be able to use my lap top during the day. If I can get through in the daylight hours then it may just be an isolated problem with my lap top and the maintenance works… Every body keep your fingers crossed, I’ve been having a really $*&!ty couple of weeks and I will be devastated if I can’t get into my sanctuary over the weekend…

AndHenry – Ounce for ounce, the short tailed shrew is the most ferocious animal in north america. They have super high metabolisms so they live fast and die hard. They are highly territorial and will fight to the death. They are one of a handful of venomous mammals (you have some in Australia, right?) and they will bite their victims in the face. They eat worms and other slimy things, but they won’t hesitate to kill and eat a mouse (which are about the same size as they are). They are surprisingly cute though. Very plush fur and a cute pointy nose.

No sadly….. Just know he was beautiful! He let me walk outside and he just watched me, had no prob with me taking the piccy’s.
Gosh, over 10 years now I rescued a ‘frog mouthed’ owl (he WAS beautiful!) and took him to my doggy’s vet. Turned out he had a crook eye and couldn’t see properly to hunt, so very hungry and sickly. My vet made him all good again and he was given to a wildlife park – how awesome was that!!!!!

Edit/Add – As long as we kept our distance, not reached up to grab him, it wouldn’t have flown away. They will stay put till it’s dark. This is our second owl we have had do that, the first one spent the day in our palm tree outside our bedroom. Only flew off when it was dark. Amazing birds!
