This little guy is fearless! He heard a truck in the distance and hopped right up, maybe two or three feet away from us. We kept very still so as not to scare him. He was a cutie!
And some pictures of the little rascal!
Aww! I love his little hopping tracks in the snow! Too bad I don’t have much of snow OR wild bunnies around here ![]()
Aw, I wish you at least had the bunnies, if not the the snow!
Check out halfway through the video where he slips his little butt on the ice, hee! <3
The embed says “Video Unavailable” for me… maybe it’s the privacy settings and you need to change it to make it viewable to everyone?
Okay I fiddled… is it working now?
So cute. The tracks look like a heart shape in the 4th picture ![]()
Yes, it’s working now :]
Now you can see the bunny butt slip-n-slide ^_^
nice pics!! i see bunny tracks by my car every morning and this morning i saw one by a stop sign. I’m always amazed how many animals survive this wicked cold!! I almost pulled over and picked him up ![]()
I saw the heart too! ^_^ Sooo cute! That’s what our tracks look like here, all caddywampus over the place!
I have yet to see the bunnies making them! ![]()
Haha you have rabbit poop in your house and out in your yard!!! ![]()
I was watching the vid again and it’s so interesting how the wild bunnies move. It’s nothing like our house bunnies, at least not that I’ve noticed. I guess because our buns are so comfortable and secure, they don’t feel the need to almost ‘sneak’ wherever they go.
This reminds me, my daughter and I watch AFV regularly, has anyone seen the clip of the two wild bunnies on the grass playing leap frog over each other? The first one charges at the second and the second leaps up to let the first one run under him, then they both face each other and do it again. It’s hilarious!
That bunny is so cute!!
MimzMum, I’ve seen something like that but in our back yard. The bunnies were playing leapfrog then chasing each other. It was adorable!
I see what you mean about the difference in the way they move compared to our house buns. They move in little spurts and always look so aware of everything around them. I love to see them really go at a full run across the snow. It’s so beautiful, the way they move. They lift up their tails, and it’s like a streak of white behind them. They’re so fast and graceful, doing leaps and bounds, and it amazes me how acrobatic they are.
Speaking of which… silly Remy was just sitting in the middle of the living room a few minutes ago before he did a straight-up vertical binky two feet in the air. No running start or anything, just BOING!
Cirque du soleil in our very homes = D
Pip did that popcorn binky once. She was in the xpen (which has high sides since it is a child playpen) and she nearly cleared it! 0_o It was a good thing I didn’t have a cardboard box in there or anything, or I’d probably still be trying to find her!
I think the largest straight up bink Mimzy ever did looked something like Lintini’s stinky-bink bros and their little spurts and spins in the litter box. You’d think he’d get a little more air with those Dumbo the Elephant ears of his!
Fiver will do a few good ones, then madly run around the bed (his favorite play place). I think I have pix of his little white tail going by, and that was about all I got of him…lol.
Aw, I hope that little winter bunny is warm enough and has a cozy place picked out for himself/herself to nestle.
I’ve seen my buns do the BOING thing to – straight up in the air, out of the blue binky. Bless their hearts, they’re constantly expressing how happy they are in our homes with us!
Y’know, they’re pretty amazing… they seem so tough and resilient. Plus, there are about a million rabbit holes in the fields around our apartment. I imagine they keep warm together : )
Momo’s been dueling a cardboard box behind the couch. I think it must have challenged her in some way. She’s winning.
lmao at the BOXing challenge…giggle
We’re having -30 and -40 plus Fahrenheit temps in the eves here now. Kind of a leftover from January I guess. Still I see new tracks from the local buns. I just DON’T understand what they are doing out in this cold?? I mean, our bunnies couldn’t survive anything lower than -4 F, how do these little rascals do it??
Something huge went through our yard last night and had my husband so on edge he took his ‘pea shooter’ out with him. I was terrified to walk Jenna alone so I made him come out with us. He was behind us by several feet and when I turned around and Jenna could make out his shadow she started barking and growling at him…lol. I know she can smell other animals (I watch her go with nose to ground all the time around the bunny tracks, probably trying to figure out what our three are doing outside) but she doesn’t see too good in the dark so she gets vocal.
I’m sorry, but as a sensible mammal, when the temps drop below about 10 or 20 degrees F, unless I absolutely HAVE to, I go into my nice warm cubby hole and STAY there! 0_o
BTW, meant to post these:
Flying bunny butt!

Ha!! That’s just what it looks like!
What great bunny butt pics : D
cool pix & vid!!! i put the heart pic as my desktop today
mimz those pix are priceless. flying bunny butt is right!
hey cool!! I feel flattered = D
Flying bunny buttressssss!!!!!!
I was lucky to get these at the time, 1) because Fiver still had fur on his heels at this point and 2) the camera flash was working right for once so I was able to get the cool action shots…lolz.
Believe me there’s about 500 other frames where all you see is the last wisp of an ear or foot or nothing altogether because he is so fast.
I love action shots, even if they’re wild and blurry, lol
How’s Fiver doing? I need to go over my emails!
is it me or does the wild bunny hop look a little different from the domestic bunny hop? O_o perhaps i’m tired and my eyes are playing tricks on me!!
he/she has the same body type as chacha awwwwwwwwww
SO CUTE!!!!!!
