Hello Everyone!Bunny owners I need you! So I have two Dwarf lops, Male and female (both desexed). I have noticed on their cheeks (especially the females) they have these tufts of fur that sometimes fall out, but appear to have a dark green hard tip. When you break it open it’s light coloured and has a waxy feel to it. The female has a few of these on each side of her cheeks. She seems to have more of these and they appear to be larger than the males. They have had these their entire lives and have never experienced any discomfort from them (they like having them scratched!) My vet thinks they are like rabbit pimples. Has anyone else experienced these on their rabbits? If so, know exactly what they are?

Oh yes, rabbits have those! I pull out Bam’s. It’s like little fans of fur with a hard-ish bit at one end. I think it has to do with sebaceous glands. It’s perfectly normal. Some buns have more of them, others have less.

            Yep, totally normal

I once had a male rabbit who made a lot of these. My current female rabbit doesn’t have many but I did find a few tiny paintbrush tufts coming off her in the last molt

Those drive me nuts. Have to pluck em. My little Bridge Mini Rex used to get those more than any of my other buns.
