  If you go to BUNNY INFO above and press on MONTHLY MANTAINENCE. It should tell you how. I think it needs to be done once a month. I’m not sure though…

  Hi yes every month or so. HOld them on their back bunny burrito if you have to. OH and have handy some q tips and I use a tweezer to pick off the chunky stuff if they have any. HOld your nose and ….. there is a pic somewhere on how to do it. It is right beside their genital area. You open on the side and a big skunky smell hits you …you have found it. Now the picture and directions is on monthly maintenance. So go to home and find that section it should be helpful. Easier to see it than read about it.

  ooops sorry you go to home and the top area has FAQ ON the home subject line there along with other choices. Go to FAQ and there will come down some more choices. That is where you find monthly maintenance. With diagrams for cleaning anals. Now isn’t that just well anal….hehehe

  dang it I still got it wrong. it is under Bunny INfo. Then these choices come down thats really really where you will find monthly maintenance. Gee now talk about anal. I must really be getting a brain drain

  ok… i just did both girls anal glands, nails and ears… Abbies anal glands were BY FAR worse then Rains.. as were her ears (which i expected) im glad i finally did it… will that help at all with smell of their litter box, urine, poo, exc? Except for the stink around their bum what else happens when you dont express their anal glands?

  I have decided to be brave and do this myself. I have been taking Edson to the rescue to have his nails cut and the glands cleaned but it really is silly that I am so afraid of doing this! So I am going to buy some nail clippers today and attempt this! One question, do you guys recommend the guillotine style over the regular type of clippers?

  I LOVE the ones that look like scissors… they dont seem to crush the nail the way the guillotine ones do… also, cleaning the anal glands was SO EASY! I have had to express dogs anal glands and nothing compares to that hahaha.. rabbits are EASY to do! It stinks to high heavens of course but much easier then leaving them without it done because i know the vet would charge us to do the cleanings if i didnt figure out how to do it myself. Good luck! Take your time, im sure you can do it

  I’m not afraid of doing it, I’m afraid of my bunny taking revenge on me! I suppose I have to learn how to do it, I’m sort of the world’s biggest procrastinator!
