exciting news!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been around here… I took a break from BB in order to finish graduate school*. Exciting news: I finished my PhD in Plant Science (biochemistry type stuff)!!   

We are also in the process of moving.. no more spoiled bunnies with their own room in the house.  We are going on vacation and Arduina and Leo are staying with a friend.  Then we are renting a 1 bdrm basement apartment until I find a job.  I’ll need to find a bunny sitter in the Portland, OR area this summer (while I’m job interviewing), message me if you know of one.  

Anyway, here’s some more recent pictures of Arduina (darker rex) and Leo (ligher agouti), some in the old house and some in their new set up at my friend’s house.

Thank you all for the congrats.  I’m super glad to be done.. now its just on to the job hunt.  

Arduina is a rex (7/8 std rex and 1/8 dutch), Leo is mutt (he came from the bunny sanctuary, I think he’s got some lop in him, his ears fall over a little more than Arduina’s).

Congrats lwayne! Nice to see you back here too! The matching buns are as beautiful as ever. I’m not sure if Monkeybun saw this thread but I suggest you contact her. I’m sure she’d know some people thru Rabbit Advocates that could help you out.

@Mike, I can definitely see the similarities. The white fur around Usako’s eyes indicates he might be a “broken” agouti (or castor in rexes I think it is).

lwayne, what kind of time do you need from a bunny sitter? Do you need the buns to live with them, or someone to pop in and feed/play with them?

Monkeybun, nothing specific now, most likely for a weekend so we ca explore the area. My SO travels a lot and if I get invited somewhere for a job interview, we will also need a sitter for a few days. The bunnies can stay in our apt and someone can pop in to check on them. I prefer 2x a day. They could always be moved but they seem to have tons of luggage. The other thing is I’m not sure how they will react to other bunny smells… Arduina was literally pissed last time I came home from the bunny sanctuary after she caught a waff of my shoes. It may not be so bad since we are moving to a new place, we’d have to see how it goes. Let me know if you or someone you know is interested. I really would like someone bunny savvy.

Well, if they don’t have to be temporary live in buns, I think I could handle bunny sitting for you Just PM me info when you know it, and I’ll take care of your fluffs. I have shoes my buns have never been around, so i can wear those over, and change clothes beforehand too. I know all about buns that don’t react nice to other bunny smells, I always change my clothes and shoes after OHS visits
