ESA bun

So my Charlie is an ESA bunny. I got her a couple months after I was released from the hospital (I admitted myself so I could get help with bad depression and anxiety) and she has helped me so so so much. I love her to bits and I couldn’t ask for a better buddy! I am going to college next year and I will be taking her with me because she is an ESA, but to now get to my question… Is it possible to have her be a single bun? I have really been looking into getting her a friend, been looking at several prospects for adoption, but what are your opinions since I will be bringing them to school with me! I do believe having two of them will be easier, but until then I don’t for sure know if it is the best choice. Please give your honest opinions and please don’t tell me I won’t have time for her in college because trust me I spend most of my free time with this rabbit.

Cool! One of my bunnies is my ESA as well, and im working on registering one of my other bunnies as well so i dont drag Blue everywhere with me. Theyre great, arnt they?

If you take your bun with you a lot and your bun likes to have some alone time, i wouldnt worry about getting a second bun. Some buns do prefer to be single buns rather than share their time with another bunny. But if you are gone often and you feel your bun is getting lonely without you, then it would be best to consider a second bun. Note, if you do get a second bun, both buns need to be neutered/spayed before you try to bond them. You will also want to make sure that your school will be ok with you bringing both. They have to be ok with your ESA but they dont have to allow a non medical rabbit (assuming you mean college)

Do you bring your bunny with you everywhere? If so where exactly? I want to bring Charlie with me places but I don’t want her to get scared either. She’s not a scardy bun, she lets anyone walk up to her and lpud noises don’t seem to bother her, not even my dogs barking!

Blue has gone with me to a few different stores, doctors visits, therapy visits, ect. He gets nervous because its a new place, but as long as i keep petting him he is fine. I dont keep him leashed because he prefers to explore than walk with me, so he has his own little bunny bag he sits in and i carry him around in People often come up and ask to pet him, and more often than not parents keep their kids away unless i offer for them to pet him. Blue loves the extra attention, and it keeps eyes off of me and onto him so it makes me feel better when hes getting spoiled. In his bag he has a ton of hay, and we keep the crate in the car with water for when we are done doing what we need to do

I do also have to note, places are allowed to ask you to leave. Emotional Support Animals are not as protected as service animals, and the only service animal not allowed to be kicked out of somewhere is a dog and in some states horses are also on the same level as dogs. ESAs are only protected on where you want to live. A place cannot deny you living there because of your ESA (they can deny you for having any noncertified animals, though). But, although places (stores, offices, doctors, ect) are allowed to boot you if they choose, i have not yet had that problem in the year or two ive have Blue certified
