        Hi

We have two bunnies who currently have a huge enclosure outside with a full run of the garden and the ground floor when we are in.

We are going to be emigrating to southern Spain at the end of the year and of course want our lovely bunnies to come with us.

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on how they would cope and what we can do to keep them happy in the heat of Spain.

We have already thought of how to transport them – we will be driving down so that they can come with us.

Any help at all would be most appreciated.

        Judith x

Wow you are so lucky that’s my dream!

I’m guessing you’re in the UK, how long will it take you to drive? You can fly with rabbits but you need to phone the airline before you book and ask if your pets can come on board in the aircraft with you as cabin luggage (not checked luggage, ever!)

If the temp change is over a 10F change (example, if its 70F where you are now and 80F where you are moving), the rabbits will need to be indoor until you can adjust them to the new weather. Changes over 10F can cause stress, stroke, heart attacks, overheating, ect.

Here we say a temp diff of 10 degrees Celsius up or down from what the bun is used to is acceptable, more than that requires a period of climatization.

I wish I were emigrating to Spain too So cold here, it’s like 12 degrees (Sweden).
