My name is Jennifer and I am 32 and I live in Arkansas. My husband recently bought my 7 year old daughter a bunny, but I have taken it over!! He is a calico colored bunny with gray and tan and he is awesome!! I am totally in love with my bunny. I don’t know how old he is, but he is 3 times the size of when we got him on October 3. His name is Hoody Bunny, because he is a Whodini bunny. He is always doing binkies around the kitchen and then he will just flop down and relax under the table. If I lay on the ground he will come up and put his nose against mine and let me give him kisses, and he will flop down and go to sleep with his head under my hand while I rub his ears. I have completely rabbit proofed the kitchen and he does circles around it and flips and jumps. He has done so good that I opened up my bedroom and he now runs from the kitchen and all around the bedroom. He has a certain path that he runs and it so funny to watch him take off full speed. He comes when I call him and he will push his nose out of the front of the cage when he hears my voice and then he lets me kiss his nose. He has the best personality. I was kind of nervous about getting a bunny because I read on a website that a guy said bunnies were not good pets…they did not have a personality, they did not show affection , they were stinky, messy, and destructive, but I totally disagree. Mine shows affection and he has a personality and I clean his litter and cage every night so he is not stinky and he gets to run enough that he is not destructive. I love him soooo much!!!!

I was kind of nervous about getting a bunny because I read on a website that a guy said bunnies were not good pets…they did not have a personality, they did not show affection , they were stinky, messy, and destructive, but I totally disagree.
I reckon all of us here would disagree too! Though they can ‘stinky, messy and destructive’ if being ”cared’ for people who don’t take the time to learn how to deal with or avoid those issues.
Yeah, tell you what. Take a dog or a cat, stick them in a cage only three times their size and see how stinky, messy and destructive they get.

Yeah, tell you what. Take a dog or a cat, stick them in a cage only three times their size and see how stinky, messy and destructive they get.
And add to this all these owners who only cleans the cage (and know nothing of litter boxes) once a month – or for the most part where I live: only go out to visit the bunny in the backyard 10 minutes a day just to feed some hay.
My boyfriend used to live with a friend who had a bunny that was constantly caged in a small commercial cage and she would rarely clean it. Whenever she opened the door to her room, there would be a horrible, strong smell. She often went away for a week without having anyone to look after the bunny. So when I told my boyfriend I wanted a bunny, he was not happy about it: cause they were stinky animals. Not at all, but there are a lot of irresponsible people who have pets without ever taking the time or effort to understand their need. So glad you didn’t listen to that guy who obviouly knew nothing about it
