I was wondering when to stop giving Lucerne hay to the babies and just give them oaten hay?

Ebony is still eating it and I am worried she is a little on the plump side, unfortunately if I take it out of her enclosure then Zippy gets none as well.

I have been sticking to the foods everyone says and Ebony’s treats are limited, the pellets are not much but it doesn’t say on the packet what’s in them.

I have found Oxbows pellets which I will buy. They sell Bunny basics, would this be ok for the babies?

Yes bunny basics will be just fine for the babies and a good choice.

How old are the babies now? I cannot really remember. Are you just giving them a handful of the lucerne hay?

They will be 10weeks old this Sunday, I give them half Lucerne and half Oaten and I keep topping it up throughout the day.

When she lays down she looks plump but standing she doesn’t

Lisa – I’d switch them from alfalfa to oat at around 7 months. I’d likely keep giving it to Zippy though – it’s hard since Zippy’s supposed to have unlimited food, which means Ebony has access to it too. I think using the bunny basics T might be a good compromise though, since it’s less calories. just remember to transition slowly from one pellet to the new one over a few weeks
