  Hi everyone
  
  I have an almost 4 month old mini lop buck.
  
  Today he seems to be eating a lot more hay than usual and has gone through a 320 ml bottle and another 80ml of his current bottle in the last 24 hours, he normally goes through about 280ml.
  
  He has a play pen and when it is open he comes out to have a run around and a play but he hasn’t been bothered about doing that at all today, just happily sitting and eating and drinking and sleeping.
  
  I haven’t been with him all day so I’m not sure if he has been runnning around his pen during the day or not.
  
  Is this all a cause for concern?
  
  Since yesterday morning I have tried to wean him off pellets as he relies on them far too much for food and now he just seems to be obsessed with eating hay and as I said before has been eating it constantly and in large amounts. Could this cause the extra thirst also?

  Pee and poop is fine by the way (wee is in a lot more quantity than usual though).

  I would say that is very likely. More hay=more water intake.
  It’s really good he is enjoying hay so much!
  
  It could be also that he finds drinking from the bottle entertaining. He might go look for eat pellets, find they’re eaten already and opt to have a drink instead.
