I was just wondering if it’s normal for one of your rabbits ears to flop down, while the other one is up.

I just got her a few weeks ago from someone who didn’t want her anymore, so I don’t really know for sure if that’s how it is, or if her ear hurts or something.

That is quite common and nothing to worry about, I have 7 bunnies and their ears are every which way but the right way. 🙂

Oh and welcome to BB, you will get some great advice here from some great people.

I have only one floppie, but every now and then I see her stick them straight up for a second. Seems like people have said theirs will flop and unflop all the time…Pringles was a helicopter when we got her as a baby, then they gradually dropped.

oh, by the way WELCOME Starlite and show us the buns!

Oh the ever-popular “helicopter ears” or “propeller-head”! I love that! My little Fluffy has been known to employ this most adorable of features to get me to give him more treats! You can’t turn down a bunny with helicopter ears!

Even my uppy eared boy DJ will sometimes hold one ear up and one ear parallel to the ground – making a right angle with his ears.  He looks like the antennae (sp?) on a wireless router when he does that.

Welcome Starlite! Some bunnies will always be this way, (love those!) but if your bunny is baby, the ears may end up falling down as she grows.

Show us pictures! Tell us more about her. She sounds cute.

this was something i did not expect when i got Max (my new bun) last month. i had only ever had uppy-eared rabbits, so i thought lop ears just kind of… hung there. but the ears are so expressive. Max can also hold his straight up. if he hears a sound he’ll left one ear towards the commotion. i can tell if he’s annoyed b/c he will hold them both up at angles. the ears change positions all the time.

you didn’t say, but i am also wondering if the bunny is a baby. the way you describe it sounds like “all of a sudden” one ear drooped. lop babies are born uppy-eared but the ears droop betw/ 2-4 months, i believe.
