If a bunny is lying in a relaxed position (bunloaf or bunny-rug) with their ears up, as far as I can tell that means they’re in a good mood and something has caught their interest. According to “The Language of Rabbits” (language.rabbitspeak.com), a raised tail means excitement or agitation. Is Olly lying in a relaxed posture, or does his body look sort of tense?

Sounds like he’s lying down because he’s hot, and he’s still also attentive to surroundings. If it wasn’t hot, he’d probably be standing on all fours with the same ears and tail position, but since it’s hot, he adopts to do it while laying down.
