Ear twitch/advice re. E cuniculi?

Our gorgeous boy (Monty D Bunny!) has a twitchy ear, and I was just hoping for a little advice.

He has been to the v-e-t, re. this and a facial paralysis that occurred almost a year ago. Vet prescribed a 28-day course of Lapizole. Towards the end of the course, the twitch started to fade, until it had almost stopped. Shortly after, we had to rush back to the vet with gas and belly trouble, which was solved quickly, thankfully. But, after returning from the bet, the ear twitch was immediately back. We presumed stress, but it is, maybe, a fortnight later and the twitch has not gone. Our vets are not particularly rabbit-savvy, and the closes surgery is over 30 minutes drive away (we live on a small island and this is all on offer), so I was hoping for advice on two questions:

1. Could e cuniculi present in a way entirely limited to a twitchy ear (and possibly the facial paralysis)? He has no other matching symptoms (touch wood)!
2. I now know that Lapizole is recommended in longer courses, but having had some recently, would it be safe for me to ask the vet for some more? As the ear twitching slowed with it before, am wondering if it did have some effect, but don’t want to request more if it could be dangerous with his recent treatment?

Hmm… EC is not typically associated with facial paralysis. When you say “twitchy ear”, what do you mean exactly? I’m wondering if this is some kind of ear infection.

I have been trying to upload a video but our internet is dreadfully bad. The twitch is… He will be completely still, but his ear will be moving. Like a sleep twitch, but just all the time. Tiny back and forth movements. Not continuous, but frequent. It doesn’t bother him at all. Very strange.

Had considered an ear infection, but wondered as Lapizole seemed to help the twitch.

If the source of the infection is yeast instead of bacteria, then yes it would have an effect. It’s just a thought I was having since one of my boys has facial paralysis and ear problems on one side. His problem is a bit more complicated since it is caused by a tooth root issue. But, I have observed some pretty weird ear-related things with him. Strange movements in that ear, the way he lays his head on the floor, the way he props his head up on the side of the litter box, etc.
