Hello, coming here for some opinions and help.

My bun had ear infection treated with antibiotics for like 13 days. Symptoms were that she held her ear down, shaked her head a lot and scratched the ear.

It started really improving since day 10 on antibiotics. She is now out of antibiotics for more than two weeks and it still seems its improving. She shakes her ear maybe like 3 times a day.

She is eating, pooping, binkying, running just perfect. No signs of uncomfortable feelings or pain.

So my question is… Is it still possible for her to be improving even tho she doesn’t take any medicine now? I don’t want to neglect something but if the vet wants to properly look into her ear he has to put her to sleep and then look. So i don’t want her to go through that if she doesn’t show signs of any pain. Should I just wait a little more time to see how she does? Can her ear improve without any medicine now? How long can bacterial ear infection last in rabbit?

        Thank you

There could still be some leftover “stuff” in her ear. It can make them feel itchy. The vet should be able to look in there and remove whatever debris might have been trapped in there.
