Dr. Frankenstein She Lives She Lives

Pinky she lives once again.    I feel like Dr Frankenstein  continually bringing Pinky to life.

The cd’s came yesteday and she is up n running.   Then I installed Firefox  and I think IE8 snuck in here with it cuz it was on the firefox download page even tho I hit Do Not Install.

Then no more being able to install my printer and stuff.  So I redone one more time today  erased all and put the vista back in and viola.    I won’t be installing anything unfortunately.

I dont’ think copy paste is working but I will try disabling my firewall and see

Also when I use attachment under our posting square here   it says size must be 300 something or other.  I am wondering how I can resize the stuff to attach it

Probably won’t be on Pinky much for few days due to all the internet jams. 

Anyhoo Pinky Lives    I wrote down all the pass and key codes to reconnect with the router and security suite.  Did it all by myself  so happy,.   By the way  was so funny.   I must have slid pinky and accidentally turned off the intenet connection thingy.  Well dsl server and I could not figure out the problem.  Then I got another person and was asked if I hit the switch  sure nuf.   OH dear.   I was so frustrated til he suggested that.   rofl    OH dear.

I resize all my stuff in MS paint, its quick and easy and does the job so i can post my bunnies

Hi bt, you’re turning into quite the computer geek, glad you’re back!

We had a lady at work whos computer went off, we checked everything, finally had the maintenance guy come up to check the wiring on that floor when he noticed the lady’s big purse was sitting on her power strip and had turned her off. 20 years and she’s NEVER lived it down!

“A couple of people have asked about resizing images.  Microsoft makes a nice little program that you can download for free that resizes pictures.  It attaches itself into the Windows menus, so you can just right click on the picture and there will be a “Resize Pictures” item.  You can find it here:’

Drat  I have vista.   I have figured out how to resize pics thru windows photos then I hit a menu bar and resize then it brings me to microsoft office.   I can resize there but when I go to attachment bar down below  it brings me to windows photos I can’t figure out how to get it to go to microsoft office.   

I will have to work on it.  I would bring it to a shop if someone could show me how to set copy n paste.   I can do copy in windows photos then when I come here and right click the paste choice is grayed out and I can’t click on it.  

Well I brought Pinky back to life and still have the same old problems.    Oh boy.   Welcome to the world of windows vista technology.  lol

BT, now that I have learned that I can’t use my favorite image resizer on my laptop, I went to my trusted site, PCWorld.com.

Looked up image resizers, and found the article linked above. First, it recommends Paint.net (sounds familiar – free and came with my computer) so I think that’s definitely worth a try. Then it suggested InfanView, so I just DL’d it to give it a try as well. (I just tried Picassa, but uninstalled it. Too many duplicate images and complicated.)

But I am also about to try the program recommended called FixWin. It is supposed to go through your machine and find some basic glitches in windows that it can eliminate. Sounds like something you need if it works.

Once you open the link and you’re in PCWorld, just click their linked names in the article and you’ll get to their DL page for each one. I LOVE free downloads, so give them a try. You can easily uninstall anything in your Programs. Maybe these will help.

Funny thing I resized with microsoft office no problem.   I can’t seem to find the pics now.   lol.    I dont’ have a problem with resizing.  The problem is when I hit attachment  then browse I can only get pics from documents or windows photos and those are too big

If I could figure out how to get them from the sites y’all recommended to here I wouldn’t have a problem.   OH well I just keep playing around I will eventually figure it out.

Sounds like when you resize it’s selected an unusual spot to save the new pix and they’re all going there. You can do a Search (from the start menu) for those pictures, even just a couple, and when the smaller copy appears, mouse over or right click for properties and read the path where it is stored. You’ll want to find a way to Save As into an easy to find folder. You could even create a new folder in Documents just for these pix if you can reset where they all automatically save to be that folder.

Oh I am just gona empty pinky again and start over.   I did not install all 13 cd’s  I just installed the boot mgr cd that I ordered.  Maybe thats why it isn’t working.  

Hubby I think is going somewhere tonite and I will stay home and work on this problem once more.  This is the last time.  It takes forever to reload everything.   All these updates for vista then install printer and put the pics back in.    Takes me a few days to finish it up.   that is why I was reluctant to redo it. 

If this doens’t work I quit and save $ for win7 upgrade  if that doesn’t work I save $ to get it fixed    at a comp repair place.  

I am trying to instal some cute videos and then post them here.
