So, my bunny (I still don’t know if it’s a male or female – we’ll suppose its a HE
) has recently started to do something that I cannot explain
So far , I noticed it in 2 places:
1) when I stay with him on a beach towel that I have in front of his cage (or should I say ex-cage, since he’s been free roam for a couple of weeks ) and i pet him or “scratch” him on his back area , this usually comes after he grooms me first or if I start petting him while he is grooming me
he starts to pull with his teeth on the towel, sometimes really hard (the pulling). Then sometimes he scratches/digs with his front feet…and so on and so on, as long as I pet him…
2) the second place where this happens is when i sleep on the couch and he comes up on the couch to groom me ( usually at painful morning hours
5-6 AM
) ..then while grooming me he stop ands tarts pulling with his teeth on the bed sheet …and some scratching/digging…the same as with the beach towel.
Now, I don’t mind him doing this since so far the towel/sheet kept strong (no tearing) , but there are 2 things im curious about: since he sometimes pulls so hard that I can see his body shaking
and I can definitely feel the “pull” on the towel/sheet, I wonder if that is not a ‘good way’ to harm his teeth??? The second thing that I wuold like to know , is the subject of this topic: does this behaviour mean anything?
Thanks in advance !
