Does periscoping more = confident bunny?

This past week, Crysta has begun to periscope more often . Does something simple like this mean that Crysta is growing in confidence? She wasn’t like this in the beginning, but now she additionally does things like staying put when I come near, or allowing me to rub her belly from the side more readily.  I think this is because she trusts me more, but I was wondering if she’s becoming a more… well-balanced little girl – that she’s adjusting well since being bonded late last year.  Does that make sense? She binkies often during playtime – sometimes to show Thor she’s not gonna be bullied, but mostly (I think) because she’s happy and energetic. She sorta popcorns when she’s “flexing muscle” in front of Thor, but her joyfulness comes through when she runs a little and then binkies, which makes me fall in love with my little Twista-Boo all over again. She is one sweet, feisty little girl.

Check out this pic – so sweet, melts my heart.  As I was writing this post, Thor tipped over and just laid there next to Crysta (we’ll just pretend that it has nothing to do with her watching for predators or whatever).  They have the whole space to run, but they choose to be together more often, which is heartwarming for a human bunny mamma.  Except when the food comes out.

I do think periscoping more means a bunny is getting more confident. A really scared bunny doesn’t periscope, it hides. Doesn’t have to look for dangers but assumes everything is dangerous. My Bam started to periscope when I’d had him for a few days. Before that he just stayed very still. So a good sign!

Thankyou, Bam I love to see them like this. That’s really good to know! I know my bunnies well, and this was a totally new thing for Crysta. She sorta stayed for a bit longer in periscope position the second time round, like she wasn’t worried about Thor at all. Typically she is skittish if she thinks he is looking for food or willow (they have such a bizarre relationship, but I do understand why) but it’s wonderful to see her develop her own confidence around such a bossy male.
