  Is this doable? My bunny’s like my best friend and I would love to take her with me everywhere. I live in Canada and my husband and I are planning to drive to Florida. I would much rather take her with us. She’s starting to get accustomed to hour-long trips to my sister’s house. We wanna go to Thailand and the Philippines next year and I was just wondering if this will be too much for her. I purchased a stroller for her in case I needed to haul her carrier if she got too big or something. She’s a flemish giant bunny. She’s 3 months old at present. She’ll be 1 year by the time we wanna go travel to Southeast Asia next year.

  I wouldnt take my bunnies on a plane given that a few cases have come up with rabbits dieing on planes and theyre not allowed to be positioned under you seat unless they are certified as an ESA and you follow the correct process. I also wouldnt take my bunnies anywhere where I could not get to a rabbit certified vet. Anything to risk their life, I absolutely would not consider.

  A car ride is one thing, a plane ride is something else entirely. People have taken rabbits on planes because they are moving. But it is a traumatic experience. And like Mikey said, there are (apparently) not a lot of good rabbit vets in Southeast Asia. There have been several members here on BB who live there and were unable to get proper care for their sick bunny. But I only know what these members have said on here.
  
  IMO, such a short trip (vacation) is not worth the stress of a plane ride or the risk of inadequate care. Your bunny would be much safer and happier at home with a loving petsitter.

  @Q8bunny is goign to fly Chewie back from Kuwait to Canada via Lufthansa, which has a top-flight animal cargo service designed for pets, in fact Chewie is getting the top-grade service complete with personal human attendant. Needless to say, this probably costs the proverbial arm and leg. For my own part, I’m still kind of nervous about driving Panda and Fernando, whom I got a pet carrier for just this weekend, to the vet or nail-trimming appointments, let alone taking them further afield. I’m taking a vacation next month to North Carolina, about 8 hours’ drive one way, and my plan is to get a good bunny-sitter for the buns while I’m away. They’re certified as ESA’s but I think it rather unlikely I’ll ever take them on a plane, and I’d probably have to get another carrier; the Petmate I have is a great model for cars but I don’t think it’s plane-certified.

  Definitely leave her at home for your overseas trips. Not just the plane ride as mentioned, but there is also customs and quarantine to consider which can be long and stressful on top of the flights and new environment etc.

  I agree with the others and also think that Canada to Florida is not a great idea, especially if it’s for a pretty short period of time. Your bunny will not enjoy it as much as you do.

  In our city the rabbit sanctuary bunny-sits. You know that your baby is being taken care and is cheap.

  Friends of Rabbits, the main rabbit rescue in my area (metropolitan Washington, DC) offers bunny-sitting services at inexpensive rates so I’ll be contacting them when I need to see my Panda and Fernando in a safe place while I’m away.

  Of course! You might get bunny butt’d (ignored) for a few days, but after some sucking up and extra treats, she will forgive you

  A friend of mine takes her bunny to fl every summer with her. They are in an rv tho and the bunny has free roam of it. And they stop alot along the way. I think it depends on your bunny. Overseas I wouldn’t just because of customs and quarantine and possible diseases and sicknesses from other animals in that country that the bunny could possibly come into contact with.
