I was selling some things on ebay, which is something I do every now and then. I thought this was really weird. One of my items sold, the person paid, and I have it all boxed up and ready to go. Then I get an email from a different person wanting to know if I would accept more money for it. LOL

Of course I’m not going to do that, the other person already paid. But isn’t that funny?

I’ve heard of it. Heck I’ve done it, kinda. I emailed someone to let them know if their buyer backs out or they come across another one I’d be interested in a BIN.

I don’t really like ebay though, now that its like, SUPER buyer.

I’ve sold and I’ve been scammed. I decided best to adhere strictly to eBay’s policy. So I would just say to the buyer you’re sorry that they missed the auction and you’ll relist if the buyer backs out or returns.

BUT gosh! I hated when stuff like that happened.

Oh, of course, bad things can happen outside of ebay’s safety net. I just thought it was funny. You know, people actually fighting over it. They must really, really want it.

up to a couple of years ago I sold/bought a lot of books on Ebay. Only got skunked a few times, but I seem to remember that back then Ebay really cracked down on that kind of thing, because that buyer is trying to make you dump an honest winner. You were supposed to report them. Maybe gently let this guy know that that behavior is illegal on Ebay but you’d be glad to let them know if you relist it.

Once I won a DS game for my son and got so many emails from people wanting to buy it that I put it in an auction and actually made enough to buy my son a brand new console….lol. I didn’t realize that the game was a first edition and just happened on it because the name was misspelled in the title and not many people saw it until too late.

ebay is not the same friendly place it was even 3 years ago.. fees have more than tripled, scams as well, and they expect everyone to just bend over and take it. AND if youre not a large seller, they put a 21-day paypal hold on your funds received (PP earns 21 days interest)

even before we had pullipstyle, i always had an ebay store selling something or another since 2001

i put our ebay store on vacation for december,, you wont get trampled by a crowd, but the sense of entitlement by the people who wanted thier item yesterday is crazy. http://stores.ebay.com/PullipStyle

I just listed 40 items to sell on ebay this week. No insertion/buy now fees! I guess cuz it’s holiday season they are waiving all insertion fees?

Yes I have a few times.   No one has ever asked to outbid the winner once the winner won.

You are right in not agreeing.  Maybe report them to ebay.    Unless you are not wanting to mess up someones ebay account
