So I’ve been having a rough few days.. issues with the fiance, oh yay. ![]()
And Zeus is just downright therapeutic when I’m feeling not so great. He comes hopping over to me with that chubby little face and the big brown eyes, makes his cute little sounds, and flops his front half across my lap for pets. Honestly, the “cute factor” alone really helps cheer me up, and the fact that he’s so friendly and personable is so nice.
I do think animals can tell when their owners are sad. And they’re good at making us feel better! Zeus is my tiny furry shoulder to cry on. ![]()
How about you? Do your buns cheer you up? ![]()
Yes, they do! I often go into the bunny room and just sit there…they are calm and therapeutic and their presence makes me happy and relaxed.
Only my cat can make me feel like this as well. No person can do that at least, nor my dog.
But bunnnnnnie! – I think you forgot to mention Zeus’ nose…because oh my god, he has the cutest nose ever!
I hope things will pick up with the fiancee! In the meantime, I agree: bunnies are great stress-relievers! I too love to sit in their pen and have them investigate me. It is an honor of itself that they permit my presence anyways…

Haha, well Zeus says thank you for the compliment! He’s cute and he totally knows it. ![]()
Totally agreed on the no human can cheer you up quite like a bun can, too. ![]()

Thank you! Same here, I love just “hanging out” with Zeus. Although he doesn’t do much investigating.. he marches right up and just stares at me like, “Why aren’t you petting me yet? I’ve been waiting here a whole 0.5 seconds!” ![]()
Absolutely! The bunny room is my favorite place to be in my house.

In my house, EVERY room is the bunny room! Studio apartment. ![]()
Yup they’re totally my stress-relief (…except when they’re pulling on their pen bars or digging at the wood floor
lol)
They have a very calming effect and they don’t say anything…so you don’t have to answer…(obvious, but you know what I mean!). I need a few minutes of nothingness when I get home after work, no talking, just me time … or I might snap for no reason. I have a pretty rough commute home from work, so I’m not the happiest when I walk in the door.. I’m also not good at sitting still (EVER) so I thank the buns for making me a more relaxed person day to day, or at least that I have that time of just sitting patiently with them that I would normally fill multitasking with as many things at once as possible!
Also, part of the reason I wanted a bunny (now 2) in the first place was to keep me company
.. My husband travels a LOT and it’s helped tremendously having them to come home to / wake up to every day
And as we mentioned in another thread, they are not all that quiet so I feel better when I’m home alone !
Lastly, bunnnnnnie!, I hope everything works out with the fiance. I hope it passes, just keep your head up!

Yep, yep, and yep! I agree with all of that. That’s exactly how I feel, too. ![]()
And thank you!
Nothing is better at cheering me up than when Eddie comes up and randomly just gives me a kiss or two on my ankles or feet. I don’t even have to pet them really. They just have to give me a cute face and I’m gushing about it and feeling better. lol
They tend to avoid me when they know I’m in a bad mood. And they have no clue what to do if I’m crying. lol But I was sick with the stomach flu really bad once and Eddie had to snuggle with me several times a day for like an hour each time. He knew I was sick cause as soon as I got better no more marathon snuggle sessions. lol
Oh most definitely. When I am crying Ruby will come to me to comfort me. She is so sweet.
Cotton he just states at me from under the chair or table. lol. When I am feeling low and go to him for pettings though he definitly cooperates.
Hubby and I were having issues and it got pretty bad. It is much better now.
As my neighbor said this too shall pass.
Zeus is adorable. I love that big face of his.
most definitely!!!
i am NOT a morning person. i would much prefer to sleep in but since i have to get up for work it cheers me up completely watching pinky from the bathroom while i get ready. her and the dog are very attentive to me in the mornings (pre-food) and pinky gets especially excited and binkying at the thought of soon getting her pellets. i just spent the weekend away at a beautiful Inn. it was a real treat yet still i found myself really missing the morning cheer from them.
also, when i’m really sad or freaked about something it is so calming to snuggle with the bun. i’m so lucky she likes a good snuggle! it gets my attention back on the things i am greatful for that are in my life ![]()
I totally agree, its like reason #94304 why I love bunnies!
Boys need a lot of time to themselves and dont like talking about ‘feelings’ and girls seem to be just the opposite…
Bunnies always love play/snuggle time and the have big ears for listening :-), but theyre content to play on their own too.
Nothing makes me smile like bunny antics. It doesn’t matter how sad I am. When I’m stressed out Ricky will say “go sit with the bunnies” and it works. Cuteness therapy!
I forget about work as soon as I get in the door at home and let Chacha out for her playtime. Its such a joy to see her run around as soon as I open the x-pen.
My bun who was not a lap-sitter would voluntarily spend hours sitting with anyone who was ill.
I think Zeus is absolutely adorable! He even makes ME feel better after a rough day to just come in here and see his sweet fuzzy nosicle at the bottom of your posts each day! ^_^ Who could be unhappy around that face??
My bunnies do make me feel better, but I have to say if they are not feeling well, then they can be a source of stress as well. Right now I’m dealing with problems in all three of mine and will not be content until I get them cleared up. But otherwise, I can be really in a rough mood and just look at Mimzy or Fiver (Pip is usually hiding her royal self somewhere) and those little brown quizzical eyes just look like; “You having bad day? Here, I fix it.”
Jenna (the family Yorkie) is the one who can tell when I’m down the best. She will see I’m not myself and bring a toy to share or just want to get in my lap and lick my face or some other such doggy thing. And my cat, Griff, will always come into a room where he hears me crying and try to get in my lap. So, yup…there’s too much love in our companion animals to not come spilling out in our times of need.
May all be well by the time you read this post. ![]()
My bun can always cheer me up! It’s like he knows when I’m not feeling so great because I just lay down on the floor near him and he licks me! Sometimes he even sits next to me and let’s me stroke him (:
