In an effort to maximize floor space in the new condo I am considering a corner litter box. Anyone use those? Is the large size big enough for a small (3 lb) bun? Thanks!

Yes – I use a corner litter box, which my almost 4lb buns fit into fine. But I also have a rectangle kitty box – they both work fine.

I used corner litter boxes for years without a problem. I just switched to a small rectangular cat box because Bromley is still learning his litter habits and they are cheap.

Bindi has a corner litter box. The biggest one I could find. It’s big enough for him to lay down in (he’s 5lbs) and he likes it just fine.

I used to have a small corner litter box but my baby outgrew it.

So I’ve switched to a plain plastic tray, lined with newspaper and shredded paper, and I also managed to find a stainless steel grill (from a cookware shop) that has 4 small legs and it fits perfectly in the box.

                  See pic below:

The good thing with rectangular litter boxes is that my rabbit tends to pee in one corner, so the next day, I turn the box 180° and she will use the opposite corner which is still clean. This means I only have to clean the box every other day.

For my 3 lb. bunny the corner box, which measures 20 inches along the front is great. He fits in just fine. He has used it for five years with no problem. Since everything seems to happen in the back corner, I just dig out that area, move the litter back and add new to the front. Its like changing the box once a week.
