I know this seems kinda wierd but I was just wondering if anyone else picks the eye goo off their buns eyes? I can’t stand to see it there and they sure don’t mind me picking it off..lol![]()
Yup, I do it all the time. Then I reprimand them and tell them to groom themselves better next time, haha. I’m such a dork.
Yep, sure do, lol
Yep!
I get Gabby’s too.
I have to do my bunnies very carefully…Mimzy is not difficult but his stuff is extra sticky, so I have to gently rub it away…but Fiver is very touchy about his eyes being messed with (or any points on his face) so if I’m not careful I’ll wind up with my finger more in his eye than grabbing the boogeys. (he wildly flips his head around if I touch him without the proper preamble).
Funny…I don’t think Pip ever gets these? 0_o Odd. Since she’s the fluffiest (and most static-ly conductive) of the three, you’d think there’d be all sorts of stuff flying in her eyes from her own coat that would have to pill up and stick to her tear ducts.
oh i pick the goo out of all of my pets eyes…if they have it
Mine don’t get much eye goop, But DCharlie will get a big white piece of fluff on his eyeball and doesn’t even seem to notice. Drives me crazy until I can catch him and sponge it off…..eak
Yep, all the time. I hate seeing it. I also read somewhere that eye grooming is a very intimate form of bonding between rabbits, so I feel like I am speaking her language when I do it 🙂

Lolli has gotten something in her eye before too. It looked like a piece of hair/fur. Drove me absolutely batty too but she didn’t seem to mind. lol Eddie and Lolli took care of each others gunkies themselves, but now that Lolli’s by herself, I have to help her out. But sometimes she moves her head and I accidentally poke her in the eye. lol But she always seems appreciative when I groom her. Even though she gets all huffy while I’m doing it. lol
Is Pip a lionhead? I haven’t seen anything in Samsons eyes yet, he’s a lionhead too.
I do it all the time ![]()
Gracie gets a lot. I’ve told the vet about it but I’ll probably bring it up again. When I pick it off she always grinds her teeth like she likes that I’m doing that for her.
My bunnies seem to enjoy it too when I’m cleaning out their eyes. Like livingonfaith said, I guess as humans that’s the only “grooming” we can really do for them.
Multiple times a day, whenever I see the little sleep crust speck I’m at it gettin’ it out, and usually get a few licks in thanks ![]()
I do and Oreo tolerates it. I wish she enjoyed it! But she just sits there and lets it happen as if to say “Ok if I let you clean it will you stop fussing already!?!”
Yes, 123, she is part lionhead also. Only has the neck mane though, no skirt.
Thanks for asking.
And boy does she get into stuff! She will WEAR her food before eating it. I do my best to keep from dropping any pieces either in their eyes or ears, and she does her darnedest to make sure I just dump her feed over the top of her by getting under it the minute she sees it coming. >.<
My dog gets the gunk right on the eyeball…drives me INSANE. She is very uppity about having goop pulled from her eyes. Don’t even try it with the cat, either.
I like my fingers and arms where they are, thank you very much. xD
I can’t stand eye boogies! My friend says I have a boogie fetish! lol. I always clean my buns and cat’s eyes. Stormy enjoys it and lays down and tooth purs. He gets long strands of goopy hair in his eyes and I imagine it’s a relief for me to remove.

So Lolli’s not the only one! LOL I end up dumping lettuce and pellets all over her. Then I get growled at when I tried to clean her off. Geesh. lol

Hehe, maybe its like, if someone dumped money all over our heads, we’d probably growl if that someone tried to take it back too ![]()
Yup, I pick them out too. Merry gets her own fur caught in the corners and sometimes I have to pull (gently) to get it out but she’s such a good girl and lets me.
i do it all the time to every animal i meet!! It`s one of those things that I absolutely cannot stand to see. Everyone at work thinks I`m ridiculous. They will be like can you restrain this animal for me and I`ll have to get rid of the goobies first haha
