› FORUM › THE LOUNGE › Different shaped heads of bunnies.. post pics!
I find it really interesting how some breeds/types of bunnies have such vastly different shaped heads. Some have long, elongated faces with cute pointy noses, some have very round, bulbous faces, some have super-flat, squished faces.. it’s fun to see all the different kinds!
.
So, post a pic of your bun’s head in profile (that is, looking to the side), so we can see all the different kinds of bunny heads there are out there!
.
Oh, and if you want to post what breed, or what breed you think your bun may be, that might be interesting too.
.
Here’s Zeus!:

I’d say Zeus has a pretty flat head.. ![]()

Great idea! I think it’s neat and cute how they are all different as well.
Bindi Loo has the sad looking squishy profile typical of lops. (Sorry not the best pic, only profile one I could find right now )

Olivia has a very long, pointy nose. When I first got her, I nicknamed her “pointer rabbit”. We don’t know what breed(s) she is. I think her nose looks funny in the second pic![]()

Stormy is in-between. His head curves, like an s shape. He has a very pronounced forehead which seems to be common in Mini Rex’s.

Mr. Bunny’s head shape is a little like a wild rabbit’s – long and uniform. His head has some curves around the eyes. He has relatively small eyes (compared to Ms. Rabbit, at least) and long ears.

Ms. Rabbit’s head shape is similar to Mr. Bunny’s, except it’s slightly more rounded around the eyes and nose. She has huge brown eyes and relatively long ears.

Great pics LittlePuffyTail! I love your pointy-nosed bun, so adoreable.
.
You mentioned the flat head is a typical lop thing? I didn’t know that! Your lop’s head is definitely similar to Zeus’s. ![]()
Fluffy; Your buns’ heads look kind of like an in-between, between the totally flat lop head, and the pointy nose head. Their heads are elongated, but more rounded and not as pointy. Cute!
The flat squishy head is very typical of lops, though hollands much more so than minis. Nethies have a similar squishy head shape.
I don’t have any pictures on my work computer, but I’ll have to find some when I get home. Otto’s face is completely flat, while Hannah’s is much pointier.
Loving the pics : )
Lops can look flat on the top of the head. Rumball certainly does. It took a bit of getting used to when I first got him as I wasn’t used to lops. The base of his ears has really thick cartilage compared to Jersey. I think he has sort of netherland features about his face but he’s 6.6lbs!
You might notice Jersey has matching crimps near the top of her ears. Does anyone else’s rabbit have those?
She can look like a flathead too, when lopped. :p
Jerseygirl, if I had spare money, I’d get a plane ticket to Australia so that I could kidnap your bunnies.
Jersey is gorgeous! I laughed when I saw the last pic – I like to push down Mr. Bunny’s ears the same way. Sometimes they don’t come back up for a few minutes!
RUMBALL HAS SUCH A CUTE HEAD AND PRETTY EYES
*loves rabbit eyes*
BRB.. getting Chacha on photo..
Can I have Ms Rabbit, please? ![]()
Chacha, the Dwarf. Her head looks VERY undwarf like to me.. usually they have pretty tiny heads.. maybe thats just me.. ![]()

She has some chubby cheeks ![]()
Moosie’s face is kind of pointy

And Smudge and Monkey both have roundish faces ![]()

Tiny…Monkey…Smudge…*head explodes*
Monkey and Smudge TOGETHER! Moose has face shape very typical of Dutch breed I’ve seen here.
I don’t know what it is about ChaCha’s ears but they are unique.
@Fluffy, if you bunnapped mine the bunnymoon would definately be over for MrB and MsR. lol

That’s alright! I’ll always have a little bunnymoon. ![]()

…If that’s what you meant.
(Sorry – couldn’t resist!)
Yes, okay, I admit it.. I’ve been doing bonding sessions with my girls…
heheh. Gosh he looks funny without his ears.
Gonna start singin’ “REW Moon, you saw me standing alone….”

Yay! So we’re not really talking about it so as not to jinx it?
This means there may be lots of Monkey&Smudge-bug pics in the future. We have some time to prepare for exploding heads.
Yeah, I haven’t posted about it cuz I’m going slow and it would be endless posts about the same things… and then with my luck it would go all downhill
I will definitely post more if/when it is done though ![]()
Looking forward to them! Sending bonding (((vibes)))
I keep forgetting…I saw some awesome lops (well lop heads) yesterday on a scottish breeders website. Don’t know if it approriate to post web address here though.
Ok, here’s some of my loppy pair! Otto has a very flat face – my friends tease him and ask if he walked into a door. Or a frying pan. Lol. First is a baby pic, then a pic when he was 10 months old. This shape is very common to hollands.

This picture shows both of them together. Hannah’s face is so much pointier.

Here’s a baby pic of Hannah that shows how she can look straight in front with both eyes. Many bunnies have to look at you sideways because their eyes are on the sides of their heads (like horses and other prey animals). Hannah’s face pretty forward because her head is narrow I guess, so she can look straight on. You can’t even see both of Otto’s eyes from the front because his forehead is so wide.

Wow! You all have such awesome cameras! Beautiful pics.
I love Jersey’s pouty little lips in the last pic. The bunny moon made me laugh.

Lucy’s head is kind of rounded I suppose, but long as well. I’m terrible with shapes, so…BUNNYFACE!
Elrohwen, I am going to steal OTTO boy
Mmm kay!
Everyone’s bunnies are so cute!
I don’t have a good camera

LPT, I just have to add that I didn’t take all of my pics. My dad has a fantastic camera and fancies himself a bit of a photographer. He’s really not (haha) but he does take some good bunny pictures! I took the first one with Otto as a baby (I think that was the first or second day after we brought him home, actually), my dad took the next two, and Hannah previous owner took the last one.
And no, Britt, you cannot steal Otto! Unless he’s being a jerkface and running away from pets – then I’ll send him your way 😛
