I make a salve myself of beeswax and organic canola oil that petals of organic tagetes erecta (African marigold) have been soaking in for 6 weeks. I use it on my own hands and feet but I’ve also used it on Bam when he had mites (cheyltiella) and patches of his skin was dry and irritated. It’s non-toxic and has no perfume and the tagetes functions as a natural preservative. He tolerated it without a problem. It is of course a barrier-cream since it’s very fat. I’ve never experienced sore hocks.
When he had sores in his ears after a vaccination, I put on antiseptic cream with 1% chlorhexidine in it. Against the itching when the sores were healing I put on mild hydrocortison-cream. This was approved by my vet. The products were over the counter, intended for use on humans. (Not a lot of over-the-counter rabbit-meds in Sweden).
I keep this stuff in my home at all times because sooner or later, some member of the household will need some of it.
Tanlover, I love your list. Although the thought of using a fever-thermometre on a bunny scares the h out of me =/
