Everybody loves Deirdra, even the people who wondered why I would adopt a third bunny. Everybody loves her, except Lint . That’s OK for now. This morning he was growling for the first time. But then he went to flop right where D was sleeping, beside her with only the NIC grid dividing them.

The best thing is Deirdra has my dogs wrapped!

I love the pic of the boys “shunning” her- and her pose seems to be so indifferent to their actions.  You can really see her waistline and hindleg muscles in that pic!  It looks like Deirdra has “buns of steel”.  LOL.

Katnip, you’re right, she doesn’t care, all she cares about is fooooooooooood, — she’s very strong…. I should work on a video of her racing… it’s very powerful, scares Mops into a corner during bonding sessions. Actually, it’s her racing in the condo, too, that makes Lint get mad at her and charge the grids.

Jersey, now you have me adopting a new attitude along wiith the new bun: make closest bond yet! thank you.

What a pretty girl! She’s so sweet! One thing I’m slightly concerned about… if your pair are not always confined when you’re not supervising, can you extend the roof of her enclosure so it’s fully covered? I think a determined bunny could easily hop out of there and this could start a ruckus.

I had a grid roof originally but I wanted to be able to reach into the condo. I cover it with a sheet, it clips onto the high sides in all corners. but I want to make a fitted card board cover that is easy to take on and off.

What a great condo!

My vet told me a while back that I should never cover my rabbit’s cage with a blanket or sheet. I don’t remember why… maybe it had to do with air flow or something. Anyway, I don’t know if that’s correct, but I figured I’d pass it along, just in case.

hmm. ??? I wonder if your vet meant covering the entire condo, sides and all, completely with a sheet… I could see how that to hinder air flow. My condo top isn’t covered all the time and D isn’t in it all day. The condo will also have to be redone once my rabbits have formed a trio. 

Since I’m talking condo…. — A word about the tiles I’m using on the second floor; they are very heavy, rough surface tiles that sit on card board squares underneath. I tried using carpeting but Deirdra is a determined carpet-digger/ripper. She did’t like blankies up there either but seems to love the coolness of these tiles (Deirdra seems to feel hot a lot). Since the weight of a tile plus Deirdra’s poundage adds up to about 17 lbs, the shelves sit on support grids in the middle which form the tunnels underneath.
