  I will be decorating my home soon, (Sorry I mean Olly’s home) I have never decorated this place and been here over a year now, I know most people decorate before moving in but I couldn’t, because I had to leave emergency accommodation because I had been homeless for a few years and they needed the apartment for a couple with a baby, so I had to leave, I will be painting as hanging wallpaper is not my speciality in DIY,
  
  Is paint still as dangerous as it was years ago?
  
  People have told me that they have had no problems with dogs, but if they can smell it dogs can go in another room or out in the yard.
  
  Anyone any ideas?

  Paints today are low odor and low/no VOC. I don’t think they will give you any problems as far as Olly goes. As always, it’s a good idea to do your research and read labels.

  Thanks LBJ10, Olly is having black satin black out curtains in his room and dark Ivory walls and some vintage pictures on his walls, a vintage lampshade too (A Victorian look) its an old building so I think it will look nice, so on our profile we will have to change the ‘Olly’s House’ to ‘Olly’s Mansion’ Lol

  Oh yes, when I get the helpers in, I can’t go painting whist the Arthritis is hurting in my neck, it is being a pain in the neck.

  This is Olly, Postman brought my curtains today, they are black satin with tiebacks, Mummy put them up and they look very nice, I kept rubbing my face on them because they are soft, the other curtains were ripped because Mummy fell and pulled them, we will have a think about what colour paint to put on the walls, ha ha Mummy you have to take them curtains down before you paint, more work.

  I’ve done a lot of painting the last few years and the only time I relocated the buns was when I painted their room. They were fine. Paint really isn’t as strong smelling as it used to be. Many paint brands even say “low odour” on the can.
