24 days til Christmas!!!!!!!!  Mass chaos!  

 

My job is going to be a mess this year, but I’m assuming that means my shifts will go by super duper fast

I told my dad that I do not want anything for Christmas, but he still insists on getting me something. I am really grateful to have a place to live and food to eat. 

One of my favorite websites has a new ‘LABBIT’ doll, just in time for Christmas. I am going to buy it as a Xmas gift to myself.

 

A few weeks ago, I requested for 12/7 off. That is the 2nd anniversary of my mother’s passing. I’ll be spending it with my Grandma. She will be picking me up on Tuesday from work, and I’ll be staying at her house. I spoke to her tonight on the phone:

grandma: so what do you wanna do next week?
me: get my next tattoo!
grandma: OKAY!   

I’m going to get ‘this too shall pass’ on my upper back. A great day to honor my mom, and to get meaningful new ink.

I just washed Chacha’s blankets.. all 4 of em. After I got the blankets from the dryer, I laid it all out for her  Who doesn’t like warm blankets?

Anyways…I washed Ruperts blanket yesterday, my washer malfunctioned because of his crazy fur and I had to manually drain and then clean it twice. I’m thinking….would it be that much money to just throw out blankets instead…? lol

My tree is up, my grandpa is spending Christmas in winnipeg so it’s just here which = lame. And I have to get all my shopping done…umn yesterday. YikeS!!!

The next two weeks are going to be so crazy and sleep depriving. This is the time that my teachers like to lay on heavy amounts of work, usually they have been running behind schedule so they are trying to rush to get everything done before winter break. Today we had to do this thing today called the “Heifer Holiday Fair” (note: I do not support some of their things which shall remain unnamed) I worked from 2:10-9:30 on it. I manned the bunny petting station, slipping in educational facts on rabbits and proper care to everyone, couldn’t help it. I snapped a pic of the cute pudgy bunny:

Today, I went to the Senior Capstone exhibition. That is an art show set aside at the end of each semester for the three or four graduating seniors at my college. Each student enrolled in the Bachelors of Fine Arts Program (the one I am in) is required to have a show, it is like our final thesis. I had been looking forward to this show because one of the girls had been working on multiple little ceramic rabbits in the sculpture studio. I was so excited to see them and hear her speak about her work! She did a beautiful job. Alongside the bunnies, there were ceramic stylized deer and birds. She said she will be selling the smaller rabbit figurines for $5 with all proceeds going to the humane society. So, that will be my Christmas gift to myself!

4 more weeks of nonstop work except for sleeping, eating, beavis & butthead, psyche, south park, and going to the bunny shelter on sunday afternoon to bring them a big box of veggies…

I have been frantically working on my projects for my classes. I had to take time out to help get the leaves though. It was nice yesterday and now it’s cold, so I can see why someone wanted to get them done. I just wish the timing wouldn’t have been so bad. I felt like the entire day was wasted.

Now I’m mad because it’s supposed to snow on Saturday and I have to be to work at 6:30am. Hopefully there won’t be too much snow when I have to leave, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO not in the mood. It is way too early and my husband won’t get up to help me. I can’t put my car it the garage since it is currently occupied by a ton of crap, some tools, and a ridiculously large rabbit hutch that is STILL under construction.

Yup, end of the semester means exam cram time for me too, same as bunnyfriend and LBJ! I’ve been putting in crazy amounts of time in anatomy lab for the lab final tomorrow, where I’ll have 120 minutes to identify 120 randomly tagged structures anywhere on the body.  Could be a nerve, artery, vein, muscle, part of an organ, anything…gaaahhhh.  Soooo looking forward to the end of anatomy, but then I have two more exams after that until break. Can’t wait!!

Does anyone have travel plans for vacation or to see family? We’re not going anywhere this year (I only get 2 weeks) but I’ll be glad to vegetate and not do anything, haha.

I have two weeks left of classes, “dead week” and finals week. I have an essay due tomorrow, 10 paintings due next week, and a sculpture and two finals the week after. Then I am off until Jan 2. Sadly that means I will be working more at Walmart to make up for not being at my job in the art library since campus will be closed. I am not really looking forward to that, but oh well. I wont be traveling because my family lives in town. I might go to the city (a 2 hr drive) to go see the bf’s parents but I haven’t decided yet. Both our families are celebrating Christmas at the same time. I don’t want to miss either celebration but I feel like it is going to have to happen.

My grandma got a tattoo on her wrist for her 75th birthday. Lol, but I still don’t think she likes mine, go figure right? I have law school exams over the next two weeks which means you guys will either not see me at all or you’ll see me a whole lot. Depends on how stressed out I get, more stress usually equals more procrastination, which is definitely dumb of me. I’m looking forward to exams being over, I’m considering just hooking myself up to a tequila IV on the way home. The bunnies are thrilled though because it means I’m pretty much locked in my apartment all day everyday so they get to be free all day for awhile. There will be sooo much grumpiness when I lock them up again!

Crap on a cracker, it’s already December.

I’ve been super busy this week babysitting Mom’s dog while she’s in New York. It’s really hard trying to keep her separated from the rabbits. I’m going to put up my Christmas decs and move my boys in together when she’s gone back home, Sunday or Monday.

Can’t wait to see your new tatoo, LoveChacha. Nov. 27 was the 8th anniversary of my Dad’s passing. It’s always a very sad day but filled with memories of him.

Since it’s December I started listening to Christmas music and watching movies. I love Christmas music but only the classic songs, none of that new crap where the singer tries to redo the song.  What are your fave Christmas songs/movies/shows?

My fave song is “Carol of the Bells”. I find it so hauntingly beautiful. My two fave movies that I absolutely have to watch every year are “A Christmas Story” and “Bad Santa”. Haven’t watched them yet.

Britt, I can’t wait for pictures of your new ink!

I spent most of yesterday at the vet or driving to and from the vet – kind of a wasted day (and a lot of wasted money) for Hannah to recover on her own. Oh well. It was fun that my vet lived across from me freshman year of college. We were surprised to see each other!

This weekend we’re supposed to go on a wine tour in the Finger Lakes. A girl at work set it up – I know a couple people, but most are friends from her college who I don’t know, but I’m sure it’ll be fun. We thought we couldn’t go because of Hannah, but she seems so much better now that it should be fine.

Yesterday my boss asked if I would host a lunch in December for our department. He wanted to get some food and wine and let people go home after that lunch, but obviously we couldn’t do that kind of thing at work (the wine part). I live super close, so he asked if I would host. Sure! Sounds awesome. We’re also moving to a new cube area at work soon, so everybody’s all excited to figure out where their new cube is.

My family and in-laws are coming to our house for Christmas, so I actually need to put up some decorations. At least I don’t have to travel.

Awww LPT I’m so sorry. The pain is still there. It is a lot more because it is around Christmas time. I am a firm believer that my mom waited to pass.. John and I will be celebrating our 7 year anniversary on 12/6. Everything happens for a reason.. When grandma and I get together, I”ll be taking lots of pictures.

@longhairmike BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD!! cyber high five. the twilight episode had me laughing hysterically by myself.

I can’t believe it’s already december! until a couple years ago, the holidays never meant much for me since my parents have always worked through them.. but, my boyfriend and friends have started to ease me into all the holiday hoopla. I won’t have any time to decorate a tree or my apartment, but the good thing is my boyfriend is a total holiday fiend and will gladly do it for me =P

work is really starting to pick up. this will be my second month as an official staff member at my organization, and now that I’ve been working on the volunteer program I’ve got tons of people applying! it’s great for us, but it means I need to start cranking out different outreach projects for them to do. Right now I have two projects simultaneously going on, starting on a third next week, and after the holidays will be starting ANOTHER. @_@ it is really fun though. I just received a contact that will set us up with the food bank, so we’ll be doing food distribution near the holidays.

let’s see, what else.. my bunnies are super models now =P I too don’t want any material goods for the holidays, I just love being able to have some days off to spend with people. food, booze, and good company is all I need to make me happy!

I’m still trying to get Stickers to like me again, she’s milking her “I HATE YOU MOMMY!” tantrum over being on Baytril for a week for all it is worth. She’s up to the point she’ll run over to me when I sit in the floor and see if I have a treat, but then if I don’t, she makes a sniffing noise and goes back to pretending she’s scared to death of me, if I do she’ll take it then ignore me. Brat. I haven’t been allowed to touch her pretty rex fur yet. 😮

I guess December is actually just a waiting month for me. Because other than the buns, I am just waiting for: 1) SWTOR (star wars MMO) to come out in two weeks 2) Car to be paid off, which it is after this year is over. Which means I can go back to school with that bill off our backs. CNA (Nursing Assistant), get job as part time caretaker, then go into early childhood education and finish my college degree for that with a focus on special education needs (and a course in American Sign Language). 3) For it to stop being cold, since I do not like being out in the snow, I grew up in Florida and I cannot get the hang of walking on ice/snow or stay warm no matter how many layers I throw on. lol

Apparently my smoke detector is really, really sensitive and no one cleaned my stove before I moved in. I just preheated my oven and it set the smoke detector off! For some reason my work sells these bags of cinnamon scented pine cones. When one of my PICs (person in charge that helps cashiers) gets a bag of them in her line, she gets a complete asthma attack. Well, today it was my turn. I got a bag of them in my line. As I was about to put it into the bag, I got a whiff of it, and my entire nasal area was sore o_O It gave me a headache that I still have at the moment o_o

Also, there was an awfully rude man that put his huge case of beer on the belt. I am normally realy good at telling people to keep their HEAVY STUFF (or ‘stuff they do not want in a bag) in their cart. Well, I was too late on warning this man. He said “Too late,” and continued unloading his cart. I wanted to throw something at him, lol.

Retail sucks. I did my time in it. I’d probably still be in it if my knee alteration hadn’t failed after black friday last year. So I feel for you LoveChaCha.
And I personally think everyone should experience working retail at least once in their life. (especially those jerks who do crap like that)

Chacha, I am right there with you! I get so many people that gripe at me for the store being out of something. I do not do the ordering, a computer does, and with a store as big as WalMart, it should be obvious that it wouldn’t be done manually and that the little girl pulling massive pallets around with holes in her jeans and worn out shoes probably wouldn’t have any power over that sort of thing anyway! Grr!! Luckily, I have been shoved away into the back room for the past three months and I haven’t had to deal with customers so much as coworkers waddling past with a cup of coffee in their hands asking if I am having fun yet. (I just got off work, I am a little tense still)

Well, 2 more weeks left of school! I got my paper turned in, my team (Ok State) beat our long time rivals this year, and as soon as I get home tonight I am setting up the Christmas tree and decorations!!!! This has been a good few days.

Anyone else have a case of the Mondays? I’m just such a grouch this morning.

I went on a wine tasting trip this weekend with a big group – I only knew the people who set it up and one other person, so three out of 18 (and DH too). It was fun, but it also felt like some college frat type thing – the rental house was completely trashed before we even arrived on Friday and I felt like everyone was stupid drunk after hitting the wineries (while DH and I were sitting there feeling out of place). I’ve been on many wine tasting trips (and vacations with lots of people in a rental house where lots of drinking was involved) and have never felt uncomfortable or out of place like I did this time. It was fun I guess, but I feel like I would’ve had a more enjoyable and relaxing weekend staying at home. Oh well. I guess I’m just getting old and I’ve learned it’s better to go on trips with people I know and hang out with all the time.

Also, MIL called DH twice last night completely flipping out, so that was annoying. Yay for family stress around the holidays.

Cha Cha be careful with those tats, I got my first one cause women didn’t have tats in 1975, but now 40+yrs later it’s not quite the same thing. I never did like doing what everyone else is doing, or wearing , or thinking. So make sure when you are old and wrinkled and tattoos are maybe a thing of the past it may really date you in a way not too flattering. Just saying.

My Christmases are always wonderful. My family only buy gifts for the kids, anyone 18+ joins the adult group. We do everything else, dinners, parties, get together on Christmas eve for the kids to exchange gifts. It takes all the commercial crap out of Christmas and there is nothing left but spirit. Of course I still go for a trip or two with my friends to help carry their bags, get the car and meet them at the curb, etc etc.

I see everyone is in school or still working. I’m retired and love every second of not being on any ones time line but my own. I recommend you save every dime so retirement will come early while you are healthy. While you are young you can do so much more with so much less, but as you age you need money. Just saying.

Oh, and Cha Cha, if my reason for no tattoo hasn’t swayed you, do you plan on using English? I was thinking, how about the language of your ancestors. For me it would be French (daddys side) Cherokee (mommas side).

Did you know that tattoos have been common around the world for thousands of years, and only int he last half century have they become more taboo, and only in the “western World” aka North America. They only recently started becomign more common here again. Gotta love how prim and proper people had to be here lol.

I wish we didn’t give each other gifts for Christmas, but there aren’t any kids around, so we’re still the “kids” despite being almost 30. Oh well. It’s going to be a while before we have kids (and longer for SIL, probably) so I don’t see things changing. It also makes things difficult when parents want to buy expensive things, but also want to limit price. For example, my mom wanted to buy me a stand mixer since we just bought a house. However, everyone also wants to limit gift buying to a low dollar amount – it just seems silly for some people to spend lots of money and other people say they’ll spend $10, but end up spending $40 anyway. Why do they come up with rules if nobody follows them? It would be so much easier if we just didn’t give presents.

I am definitely having a monday. And I definitely could need a hug. This day has been crazy. Bad doctor appointments, trashed condos, and tons of studying I haven’t even started. I summed it up because I didn’t wanna rant.

To jump on the tattoo conversation. I have 3. Most have a slight meaning to them. I figure I’ll laugh when they get wrinkly/whatever when i’m older. Life’s too short. I’ve had a lot of eye openers about that lately and I think if you really wanna do it and it makes you happy you should do it and not worry too much about the future because you don’t know that you’ll even live to be wrinkly (sorry if that’s depressing). When you got questionable health or even the same mind-set as me you think more like carpe diem. “SEIZE THE DAY”. Now I have a hankering to watch “Dead Poets Society”. haha

It’s funny that my uncle made me watch it once when I was little (maybe 12?) and I hated it. I think I hated it because a) my uncle liked it (and he liked really weird things, so I didn’t really trust any movie recommendations) and b) I was probably a bit young for it. I watched it again a few years later and loved it.

Oh yeah, for sure, do what ever makes you happy I’m a firm believer in that, but like I said I was “ just saying” . I wouldn’t have changed my mind either if someone had told me the same thing about wrinkles, with my life style at the time never thought I would live long enough to have wrinkles.

As far a gifts go, we do all the birthday gifts, valentines, house warming, hostess gift. So we do spend money, it’s just not at Christmas.

and elrohwen I was made to watch it un-voluntarily too in High School english class. I thought it was boring at first but by the end of it I was trying to hide the fact that I was crying from my classmates. I got really into catcher in the rye that year too. But both of those I wouldn’t of appreciated at 12 years old. I’m glad you gave it a second chance though. Did you ever tell your uncle you liked it when you got older?

Just finished the entirety of the anatomy course this afternoon, with a 94 on the final…what?? I felt underprepared going in, and was just kind of hoping to pass…well, not gonna complain, haha. I guess I got lucky and studied all the right things.

You know, traditionally Okinawan women had tattoos on their fingers. It obviously wasn’t gang affiliated or anything, just a part of the culture haha. I LOVE TATTOO HISTORY. sorry, I also had an outburst

My heater went out today and it started snowing. UGH! My mom went and bought us a little portable heater, some weather stripping and a little hut for Huckleberry to cozy into.
So, when we unwrapped it in front of the little furbrat, she excitedly sniffed it, circled it a couple times and then proudly foot flicked it. I am sure she will warm up to it soon, but right now she is showing off how she can run around the room and bounce off of various landings.

I always have wanted a tattoo but I know the minute they touch that ink to me, I’ll change my mind. I got my belly button pierced about 3 yrs ago and was so excited about it. After about 3 months (and some seriously nasty infections) I lost interest and removed the ring. Now I have a really nasty scar that I hate. Oh well, such are the battle wounds of youth.
I understand why you are getting yours, ChaCha, and I think that yours is the right reason to do something like that. It means something to you and it is a firm statement about family, love and fighting cancer. Hats off!!

Frankieflash, I never did tell him, because we sadly don’t have a relationship (we barely had one then, actually – I just went out to visit him that one time). My mom’s family is pretty nuts, so we don’t have much contact with them.

I wanted a tattoo at one point. My mom always said I couldn’t get one until after college (she paid for most of my college, so she could hold that over my head). At the time I wanted one, but by the time I graduated I decided I didn’t want one anyway. I did get into piercings for a little while and had a bunch on my ears (an industrial in my right and a couple smaller ones in my left). I really liked them but had to remove them at my first job (going into a manufacturing plant meant no jewelry because it could be a safety hazard) and I never put them back in after leaving there. Sometimes I think about putting one or two back in my ears, but I never do it.

Hey guys, I’ve been gone for awhile but I’m still here. I’m 34 weeks pregnant this week (6 more weeks left!). Getting anxious/nervous! I never thought it would go this quickly! We made a second level for Sandy to help block in her litterbox, so she doesn’t pull it out anymore yay! Gracie was doing about the same but she has recently had bladder sludge. I excreted her yesterday and about a tsp or so of sludge came out of her and no other pee She did some more today so I’m calling the vet tomorrow. I’m not sure what they’ll do. She doesn’t take in a lot of calcium foods, eats her greens really well (that are usually pretty wet) and drinks plenty of water as far as I can tell. Just have to wait and see. Just seems the closer we get to our due date the worse she gets :o/ Sorry this post is kind of disheartening, I just needed to post to get my feelings out.

Agreed with Huckleberry…I think tattoos are really neat but I can’t think of anything right now that I’m sure I wouldn’t regret later. I’ve always wanted to get into more piercings too. But for some when I got my lobes pierced they were constantly irritated for FIVE years, and I didn’t get to the point where I could change out my earrings until this summer. Sooo considering that, I’m kind of scared to go through with more piercings…don’t want to put up with any more stubbornness from my body, haha. Pretty lame, but I guess anyways I wouldn’t be able to get too many piercings and still maintain “professionalism”.

Those are the only decent ones. Everything else is too dark or blurry. And the sad thing is to see how depressed Jenna is that she isn’t the ‘only doggy’ anymore. We’ve been battling some kind of allergy in her for almost three months now and she’s feeling rubbish most of the time. I have a question for whoever would like to answer. If you took your pet to a vet who told you to use short term steroids on your pet for what will amount to only temporary relief of an as yet undetermined underlying condition, would you consider this a worthwhile option or would you rather the vet quit faffing around and get you a diagnosis and begin proper treatment?
I’d add that an online group of folks who own similar pets are hounding you to use the steroids too and treating you as if you’re an idiot. >_<
Why should I expose my pet to widely known harmful drugs when there’s other medicines that can help that aren’t full of potentially nasty side effects and achieve the same result? Am I stupid or what?
I want the best for my pet. I’m being treated like I want this pet to suffer because I want more options. Who’s right?
If it weren’t for my one vet who’s so good with the buns, I’d sack the rest of the lot and find a new practice. And that is about where I’m at anyway to find a specialist for the field I need.

It kind of makes sense to me about hte steroids, alot of inhalers for people with asthma contain an inhalable steroid, and steroids are used for other things besides bulking up. Cortizone shots are a steroid too. Depends on what it is used for, and how long it is used I suppose.

Mimz- if it were my pet, I would accept the steroids but continue pushing to get to the bottom of the problem. If that meant switching vets, I’d do it. That’s my 2 cents. But I don’t consider you bad or crazy or anything for turning them down. I think that finding the real cause to the problem is crucial and if steroids would get in the way of that, then by all means, avoid them. But if a vet is going to stick an animal on steroids and just move on and not look back, I’d say that vet is pretty crummy.

Huckles, I guess, decided she likes her new cat bed. I stuck my hand in it twice today and she whipped around and bit the fire out of my arm!!! She isn’t usually THAT territorial….

And mimzmum, the only thing I can tell you is that I have been on steroids for breathing issues quite a few times. They do help if they are the right kind which I’m sure your vet will use. I didn’t get beefed up or anything. Although my appetite does increase a lot, so depending on the animal you might have to watch that while accommodating some.

Chacha was SUPER SWEET yesterday.. and she remained that way until THE END of the night. I was on the chair last night, and I got off to give her head kisses. Wow, I hadn’t expected these responses on the steroid question. Of course I realize that this amount prescribed (about 14 days worth) isn’t going to turn my pet into Schwarzenegger, but I have used prednisone on an animal before and had it advance the disease disastrously after only a few doses. It was a different situation, this script is supposed to control severe itching, but I mostly worry about a bad reaction or organ damage. And I had to take dexamethasone during chemo and it seriously affected my mental state, so that’s my experience that I can’t place on my pet but that worries me anyway. Still, I’ve got the meds here and if our other treatments don’t work, I may have to give them a try. Just kinda scary.

So yeah, I’m totally going to pull my hair out here. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I keep trying to work on this and it just is not happening! I have been sitting here for an hour and a half. I have only gotten one paragraph written so far. Ugh!

I’m starting to think about repainting my kitchen. *sigh* I hate painting the house – hate it! We went on a week long marathon of painting and did the four rooms in the downstairs of the house and I hoped we were done. However, every time I see the kitchen at night (with the lights on) it’s just not the color I want. It’s a green shade, and with natural light I like it – it’s more yellow-ish and khaki and fairly muted. At night with the lights on, it is a much more blue green and seems jarring and too bright. I’m going to try switching out some lightbulbs, but I wonder if I should just repaint to a shade that is more toned down with the lights on. It’s just paint – I wish I didn’t dread it so much.

We do have to paint another coat in the library – we only did one originally, but now we notice some imperfections and agree we need to do another coat. We agreed to do it this weekend, so now I’m thinking it might be a good time to convince DH to do the kitchen too since we’ll already be painting.

Anybody want to come and help me?

I like green walls, I think it’s so pretty. I always get mad at my parents because they will pick a “color” that is almost white. Like one time they picked up a blue paint chip sheet and they picked the lightest one. So it was white with just a dab of blue in it. If you’re going to paint your walls a color, at least make the color dark enough so you can tell it’s supposed to be that color. Sheesh. o_O

Mimz, I think one thing that biased my response is that I’ve been on a lot of steroids in my life. Ok, maybe not a lot by some standards, but I’ve averaged once every two years (I went through a period of once a year as well). For things related to allergies or swelling (in my case is was sinuses) they really can do amazing things. I have a friend who recently went on them for something and had a horrible reaction (she basically felt like she was losing it mentally) but I’ve been on them many times with minimal effects, so I don’t think they’re so evil for short periods of time. They certainly shouldn’t be used as a long term solution unless there’s absolutely no choice, but for a week or two I think they can be great.

LBJ, I agree! No super pale colors for me. Except for the kitchen I did really well with my other selections – I have a dark grey in the library, a lighter version of the same color in the dining room (I just mixed a random amount of white paint in until I liked it) and a blue in the living room (kind of a mid-tone blue that is greyish in some lights). I just wish the darn kitchen was what I wanted!

When I was a kid, my folks managed apartment buildings to supplement income. I can remember being given an edge brush and being told to paint the mouldings when I was as young as 5 or 6. It would take us all day. Lol…so much for child labor laws.
Everything in my house is all a dingy, dirty white. Such a depressing non-color.

I told DH I’m repainting the kitchen and he said no way. lol I do all of the cutting in, which is most of the work in a kitchen, so I suppose I could just start doing it and hope he picks up a roller. lol I’ll try some other light bulbs first though. We have those super efficient ones and while I don’t mind them in any of our other rooms, they do change the colors a little. I tried buying some of the same type marked “daylight” and hated them – they were a super bright white light that was really annoying. I’ll just go back to the standard non-efficient ones and see if that helps before I tackle painting. I just feel like it’s one of those things where I’ll never be happy with the color unless I change it, so I might as well just do it.

Thanks El, you’ve given me some hope there. No I wouldn’t want this to be long term, but I get my back up when these other people tell me I’m making my pet suffer and generally put me down because I’m trying to be cautious and not just throw whatever my vet says to at the problem. Thank you very much. I will reconsider and then I think I’m going to find a specialist to help with the remaining problems once the meds wear off. We’ve tried antibiotics, probiotics, antifungals and diet and it’s all just making things worse so far.
It’s Jenna, btw. She’s been itching and scratching and having wrinkly skin with some sore spots and minor breathing problems for 3 months. We can’t get the cause isolated. I’m afraid it’s a genetic illness and if it’s what it appears to be and I can’t get this nailed down she may have a very short life indeed.
Steroids, btw, would mess up testing for what I am suspecting.

Ok, for anybody interested in paint colors, here are the colors I’m talking about.

This is Sea Marsh, the color I chose. I think it looks really true to color in morning light, but not so much with the lights on – it’s much more jarring and blue green instead of yellow green. Part of the issue might be that it’s a Valspar color and we used Benjamin Moore paint so there could be some slight color matching error.

 

 

Here’s the color I’m thinking of: Benjamin Moore Dune Grass. It’s really close, but I think it has just a bit more tan in it so it’s more muted.

Mimz, I hope you are able to figure out what is going on with Jenna. Its so hard to see your pets suffer. I can totally see why steroids would have the hair on the back of your neck standing on end. It doesn’t sound like you’ve had much luck with them at all. I wonder if anything like a bath in oatmeal or some aloe applied to her skin would help relieve the itching… Im not sure how you would go about putting aloe on a dog… but at least if she licked it off, it wouldn’t harm her… I dont think, might want to check that one…. It just seems that even if the cause cant be found, there must be a way to make Jenna more comfy.

I’ve tried a few different shampoos, sebozole and Earthbath puppy, plus apple cider vinegar rinses. I don’t know how to put together an oatmeal bath for a dog, on the kids I just used Aveeno stuff, but not sure that’s safe for pets.
I’ve heard omega 3 oils are supposed to be good, but my vet hasn’t o.k.’d the use of those yet. The latest thing she gave me was Allerderm tubes to put on her back, like flea/mite treatments. It’s just a sebum type oil, so not sure how well it’s going to work, she’s going to lick it right off.

Thanks for the good wishes. It’s hard to get a sick pet feeling better in the dark of winter at thirty below zero. Doesn’t do much for my mental health either. >_<

Thanks for the opinions, guys!  Kralspace, do you happen to remember which specific color you used? I love greens, but I find them so hard to pick! I can pick a great blue from a paint swatch a mile away, but I really struggle with greens.

OMG retail is horrible! Jo Ann is pretty well known for their coupons, and generous coupon policy. One of the perks of the company really. However from time to time people will post counterfeit coupons on the web. Most of the time we can easily spot them, but one that came out recently is causing us a lot of trouble. And customers get really mad at the cashier because they got a bogus coupon. Sorry it is not my fault that you do not enough common sense to go to Jo Ann’s website and get them from there. DO NOT use third party coupon sites, you run the risk of getting screwed over by a crap coupon. Last week I had a man shove his purchase in my face, and leave the store because I could not take his counterfeit coupon.

Does Jo Ann actually keep track of all their coupons and turn them in? Where I work, we don’t keep the coupons. We just tear them up and throw them away. I haven’t had any issues with fake coupons. But I suppose what would happen if it did occur is that we would just scan one of ours at the store. Well, unless it’s for something completely outrageous. lol Anyway, I have honored expired ones before. Most of our coupons are the same discount though anyway, so it doesn’t really matter.

So I switched around some light bulbs (went back to old style non-efficient ones) and now I’m ok with my kitchen color. Since those light bulbs won’t be made anymore after this year I may have to repaint eventually, but for now I’m ok with the color as the incandescent lights make it look much more khaki/tan and less bright obnoxious green. I’ve definitely learned that I should paint a test swatch and look at it with the high efficiency lights because it changes the color so much. My living room is blue and the blue is definitely more intense with the lights on, but I still like it so I got lucky with that.

Britt, great tattoo! I also cracked up at the Labbit care card. They should attach something similar to bunnies, especially the part about not letting them watch too much tv. lol

LPT, thanks! I tried to have a blend of neutral with colors (grey in two rooms, blue in one, green in one) on the main floor – I just wanted them to all flow well and go together so it wasn’t jarring from room to room. What colors do you have in your house?

One wall of the office opens to the stairs, so you can see right into it as you walk up – for that reason I don’t want to do bright Syracuse orange (DH’s favorite color) because I think it’ll look really obnoxious after a while. I can’t decide if I want to do a darker burnt orange, or a lighter paler version (afraid that’ll look too much like peach).

I am so excited! One of the graduating seniors from the art department is selling some of her bunny figurines at $5 each. She is giving the money to the SPCA. I have been so excited to see all of her work and when I found about that I have been practically attacking her to buy one (I think she now views me as that crazy bunny lady).
So, I emailed her today and she says that “since you seem to be the most interested, I am giving you first pick!” SQUEEE!!!!

I like having some neutrals – I’m especially a fan of grey (I’m lucky it’s the new hot neutral). I like color, but I can be really picky about the exact right shade and I like things to all flow together. I don’t think I could deal with a house that was completely random colors in every room – I’m a little too OCD for that. Haha

I actually do love neutrals in same cases. There are a lot of professoinally designed rooms lately that are beautiful and done in all neutrals. I think it’s a beautiful look, but to keep it beautiful you really need to edit it – no random knicknacks, no leaving your magazines out on the table, etc. I don’t think it’s a style I could live with pracitically, but I love it for how soothing it is.

I’m not worried about orange vs green, I’m worried about shades. Any colors can go together really, but a random orange probably won’t go with a random green (or a random blue, but that one’s easier). The green’s nowhere near the orange anyway – the hallway and stairs will eventually be a warm grey, so that goes with just about anything, but I don’t want the orange to seem jarring vs the first floor either.

You can choose up to four colors and just kind of move the pointers around and play with it and see how colors and shades will work together.

I’ve tried a few different shampoos, sebozole and Earthbath puppy, plus apple cider vinegar rinses. I don’t know how to put together an oatmeal bath for a dog, on the kids I just used Aveeno stuff, but not sure that’s safe for pets.
I’ve heard omega 3 oils are supposed to be good, but my vet hasn’t o.k.’d the use of those yet. The latest thing she gave me was Allerderm tubes to put on her back, like flea/mite treatments. It’s just a sebum type oil, so not sure how well it’s going to work, she’s going to lick it right off.

IF it helps-my vet said it’s totally fine to use human shampoo on dogs and there is no real difference in ingredients, and you only bath monthly tops so it doesn’t matter. She even suggested some head and shoulders when we first got him because he was dandruffy but no illness. I still use that or an oatmeal dog shampoo.

So I’m about to pass out from excitement, stress whatever. We have Dave’s Christmas party tonight and I’m so glad a month ago I thought ‘I always am running and stressed out and yelling, with a brush stuck in my hair and bad makeup’ so I booked makeup and hair and took 1/2 a day off -so at least I’m ready and not crying !!! But I’m exhausted and stressed because………………we just bought a house!!!! We finally found our acreage-we weren’t even seriously looking at this point because it’s winter, but we found it. All conditions removed yesterday, been running around doing paperwork all week every evening, and we close with the lawyer stuff soon and we get keys December 28!! I’ve bene into work twice at 530 am because I couldn’t sleep -not woke up early but couldn’t sleep.at.all - I’ve seriously been throwing up I’ve been so sick about this and the relief I feel is tremendous…Now to get through a party I don’t want to attend, when I just want to sleep…..Yikes!! Wish me luck!!

^ Highlight of my week. I’ve been recognized as someone to trust by my bun and not only does he do pet me bows but he’s circling me for attention and doing crazy binkys. I’ve been told that human shampoos are much too harsh for a Yorkie’s skin. Her belly and underarms and leg folds are so wrinkled and thin now, I am very concerned. That she could have some kind of early onset Cushing’s scares me. At the very least she’s developing food allergies and I’m wracking my brains trying to figure out what. It’ll take time to get a diagnosis and in the meantime she’s uncomfortable.

Yes Elrohwen!!! We dont’ have to build!! we actually found what we were looking for in a full package-which is good the building on it would be perfect but be at least a year of stress so it’s much better we found what we were looking for. I’m not going to post a full on from the road picture just because of cyber privacy but here are the pictures! It’s got a full walkout basement (3 doors) all new everything basically, wiring and plumbing and ducting. It is cistern but there is a working well so we may get an RO and hook that up down the line. It has a wood burning stove, 3.13 acres and the way it’s laid out it’s next to an empty lot and then next to county land so no neighbors so far!  Comes with a water trailer, a mower and a riding mower! Oh and he’s leaving us the pool table too!

Kokaneeandkahlua: That is a beautiful house! I am not so fond of the exterior color, LOL, but other than that it is so nice! And the land is beautiful too. What I really want some day is a nice house. Not too big, but not like what we have now, and in the middle of no-where, and at least 4 wooded acres of land.

Right now my husband and I live in the burbs of the greater Detroit area in a little 3 bedroom house that has the same layout as every other house in the neighborhood. The good thing is that our basement is mostly finished, and we intend to finish it over the next year or so. We want to create a master bedroom suite in the basement with a full bath, rather than the closet-toilet that is there now, and a giant walk in closet. And then have the rest of the basement that is still unused set up at a second family room and future play space for our kids.

MB: I like your cut! We have almost the same hair color. And mine is getting to be almost as long as yours was. I can’t wait to cut it off.

It was a horrible day at work.

I requested 12/31 off, and it was approved a few days ago. I checked again today, and it was denied. WHAT??

Also, I am already working 7 days, and I’m off Friday and Saturday.. for now. I say ‘for now’ because a cashier just randomly said he quit. My schedule has changed once this week, and I am going to be so pissed if my days off are taken away. I HAVE PLANS on Saturday, but I am sure that management does not give a rip. Next week, some people only have ONE day off. I have 2, but I’m sure that is going to be taken away as well.

Wow. Just wow.

My job is union, and the managment has to give 48 hour notice on any changes. If my Saturday is taken, I am going to fight for it. I have plans on both my days off.

I’m so angry right now.

OMG I had some work drama of my own. Last week the store manager (a major B) did not give me a single shift. Notta one. I asked her about it and she told me that the store was short on hours and she was giving them to more senior employees. I looked again and noticed that the other girls that hired in at the EXACT same day as me got hours. One of them got like 20. So I just decided that it happens and let it go. Then for this week I again did not get one single shift. But yet again the other girls that hired in with me got hours. The same girl that got 20 last week got 23 of them this week. So I brought it up to the store manager and she got really snippy and defensive with me. She tried telling me that the other girls were working here longer, which they were not. And that the one girl had more skills then I did. Which she does not. Basically for whatever reason she did not like me and was taking in out on my schedule. This manager has a huge reputation for being a two faced B. So I contacted another nearby Jo-Ann. They are hiring me in and I quit at my old store. I am sad to leave my old store though. I loved my co-workers and the other managers. And it was only 1 1/2 miles from my house, compared to the 15 miles I will now have to drive for the new store. I am also lodging a massive grievance against this manager. Right now I am talking to past employees she has screwed over, and bringing up a lot of other stuff she has done. Like one time she completely belittled another employee right in front of the store, with customers watching. This other time we had some shoplifters, and she followed the ladies through the entire store, out the parking lot and to their car. Which is a HUGE no no.

I am going to file one to her boss and her bosses boss. Not sure what will come of it. It would be nice to see her booted from the company though. Then maybe in time I could transfer back. The lady requested to use her paid time off, and thought she had it granted. Next thing she knew she was fired for skipping 3 days of work. And she told the store manager ahead of time what was going on with her family.

But depending on where you live near Detroit, I know the Carpenter Rd. JoAnns (In Ypsilanti) has really nice managers. My boyfriend has worked for them for years (he has two jobs) and he says that the people there are the best out of all the people he’s worked for. which is saying something. I hope you have better luck at the one you switched to.

You guys are totally not alone in your retail experience. Believe me, I have had my fair share of the insanity over the years. I especially love the time the store was running out of receipt rolls for the registers. We were asked not to open certain registers one day. I was busy helping a customer at the one register I was allowed to open. Some other customers came around the corner, looking for someone to help them. The store manager just so happened to be walking by, so offered to help them. She went to the closed register and then made some comment to them blaming me for not opening the register over there. Then she came over to where I was, cut in front of the customer that had been patiently waiting in line, and rang them up there. Then she continued to belittle me in front of them. What? She was embarrassed so she felt to need to justify things by blaming me? Sheesh.

mmm Mike’s I remember my first trip with Mike’s… hehehe good times. I have to try the winter blackberry though!! When I am lazy and dont want to mix myself a gin and tonic with lime, then I grab a wine cooler hehe. But these times calls for some hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps or apple cider with rum mmmm goodness. I love winter!
Oh I got a 91% on my research paper on Mad Cow Disease!! Did a happy dance earlier today. Taking out the christmas stuff and decorating the house (its the new house’s first christmas) its a small house and the house before was big… so it looks like christmas puked in our house, and that was have a santa fetish. Scattering a bunch santas in a big house looks ok, but cramming them in a small house looks weird. And in an attempt to downsize in santas and ornaments, we are forcing my older sister who lives down the street to take some stuff hehe.

I honestly do not get some managers. I have worked with some really awesome ones, and some that sucked. I had a small stint with GameStop that my husband got me. His boss has always liked both of us, and when I had a job issue after college, he hired me in. But since Joe and I were engaged at the time and Joe was a manager he kept us on separate shifts as often as possible. And we kept our relationship under wraps. We did a great job doing it and the only people who knew we were a couple were the people who knew us before I started there. Then a position at a nearby store opened up and they transferred me there. Long story short that manager is a misogynist gay dude. He only ever hires men, preferably gay ones. Any women who have ever worked for him were always transferred and mysteriously quit out of the blue. One of them was a manager for over a year at her last store, was moved to his store and quit within the month. He is very rude to women, and made me feel very uncomfortable when I worked with him. And he was very confrontational. Please note that I have nothing against gays at all. I am very pro-gay marriage, my roomie is gay and so is my husbands younger brother; which made for a very awkward time when both of them ended a relationship at the same time and used each other as a rebound. That was fun…

My job has no issues with relationships with other coworkers. In fact, some are married or dating.

I’m so sorry joyfull about what happened at JoAnns!! I really love some of my coworkers and PICs (person in charge), but the management is something else. If I am still off on Friday and Saturday, I made a gym date with a friend, and on Saturday, I’m going out with my dad to run errands. On Saturday night, I’m going to see my boyfriend (he will be coming home from school for break on Friday) and seeing Sherlock Holmes 2.

I’m hoping things work out well, but I’m kind of not feeling too good right now.

Home stretch, here I come!!!! Only 24 more hours and I can sleep again.

Last weekend was super busy with house stuff, but I’m glad we got so much done. We both took Monday off, then yesterday I had a women’s event at work (absolutely horrible – I hate that kind of stuff and talking about just mentoring for 8 hours was really a waste of time). Tomorrow I have a big vendor lunch (all of the vendors do them around Christmas and they usually last at least 2.5 hours). Then Friday my department is coming to my house for a little party! My boss wanted to order food, but he also wanted to provide alcohol (and let us go home after the lunch) but he obviously couldn’t hold it at work so he asked to use my house. It’s gonna be fun! I love my department – it’s a really diverse group and they’re kind of nuts, but definitely fun.

 Haha thanks guys.  Once I get into it I can concentrate for hours…for me, starting is the hardest part and the internet is just way too entertaining.  Not that the material I’m studying isn’t…it’s actually incredibly interesting, but studying is still studying and not very fun, haha.

My adderall helps me with my anxiety and ADD… but it didnt help me the other day when I was christmas shopping! Major anxiety attack! I went with my mom and she said she had to go to Sephora… I though, oh dear lord, not that store… so we went in there and sure enough, I started sweating bullets, slight hyperventilation, claustrophobia, and just over stress!! I felt like a baby deer in the middle of an indecisive pack of wolves! I was in the way, being shoved and pushed and walked on it was nuts! I ran out of the store and felt like my lungs finally filled up with air… freakin scary moment. I havent stepped in a Sephora since! and I am running out of makeup!

Sephora is crazy crazy! o_O;;; I can’t even step foot in that store WITHOUT squealing at everything! I don’t even wear make up at work, but if I am going out I will wear natural colors.

I was diagnosed with ADD in high school, and now I am on Focalin XR. My perscription program ran out for the Adderall. I’m thankful for my dad’s insurance that I have right now. Focalin can be $$$ O_O;; *sigh* So expensive.

My tattoo is healing! It isn’t as itchy now (I didn’t scratch it, btw hahaha) and it looks really nice!

One of my regular customers offered to buy me candy LOL! It was totally random! I didn’t know if it was allowed, and I was like “WHAT? WHY?? HUH??” in my head. The customer asked one of the assistant managers and she said “Go ahead!” HAHAH!! It was so random! now I have a peanut butter cup in my bag. From what I’ve heard, customers will bring candy to give to cashiers, but they throw it away. I guess they don’t trust customers cos you don’t really know if the candy was spiked or something o_O;; but my customer grabbed it off the candy off the shelf at my register.

I’ve had customers give me stuff. We aren’t allowed to accept monetary tips. I’ve had customers bring me gift cards and stuff though. It has been awhile though. We don’t maintain as close relationships with customers anymore.

when i was on ritalin 27 years ago,, i never viewed it as a big “hey look at me i’m on hyper-meds” type deal.

I was actually tested for it, for about a week I met with a psychologist everyday after school and we did little tests to determine what level of ADD I had and what medication was best to help me with my anxiety and such.  But I do believe that some doctors get carried away with prescribing meds.  My family doc, used to be anyways, prescribed my sister anti-depressants when she was just lactose intolerant!

My mom noticed a change in me, researched, and she took me to see a doctor. The doctor tested me for it. It makes me roll my eyes when I hear about ADD/ADHD medication abuse/those that don’t need it. In my opinion, just get rest.. period.

I’ve never tried an energy drink in my entire life.

As for the tattoos, I have one on my right ankle that is the teal ovarian cancer ribbon, and the Japanese symbol for ‘my mother.’ The one on my upper back says ‘this too shall pass.’ The back tattoo is healing quite well.

I took adhd meds when I was little for about a week but I went insane on them so my mom had the dr take me off of them. Many college students, not all, do sell their meds though to make extra cash. I am scared to try any of that. Many of my friends do it and I worry for them.
I drink energy drinks though from time to time.

Mimz, thank you! One of the seniors in the art program at my school made them. When we graduate, rather than writing a thesis, we have an art show. Hers was amazing! There were life size fawns, beautiful birds and bunnies everywhere! All together, she had around 70 pieces. Most of us only show 5-20 pieces, depending on size and number of students in the show (usually 3-7)

I have 2 of my grades so far! A “B” in watercolor 🙁 and an “A” in Educational Technology in The Classroom. I giggle about that “A” though because the teacher is quitting this year because he did not get tenure. So, he was very relaxed about grading. Somehow, I got a 92% on something I never turned in, but I am 100% ok with that since I just spent around 40 hours in the sculpture studio welding! I was so ready for a shower by this morning.

Gaaahhh!! I logged on facebook this morning and saw my friend’s sister had posted on her wall a youtube video of an “adooooorable” 2-week old (yes, TWO) baby bunny falling asleep. Reaaally really hope the poor thing wasn’t weaned yet. Discussion ensued, with comments like “omg can we get one” “Ew. Bunnies just poop everywhere. A cat on the other hand….” and “bunnies really do just poop everywhere and are kinda gross…they’re only cute as babys”. I had to do something!

Took a deep breath and made an innocuous comment about how I love bunnies and how mine are litter-trained, do tricks, and come when I call them. Hopefully I can do some bunny education here, haha.

I’m done with my first semester of law school! Yayyyyyy! (you have to imagine me doing that like Kermit the frog.) Three 3-4 hour exams in the space of a week is CRAZY, I’m so glad it’s over.  And on the plus side, I actually think I did pretty well.  Well, except maybe on contract law, but I hate contracts so that’s ok, lol.  So I’m drinking brandy, crocheting a bunny version of Princess Buttercup and watching Humphrey Bogart movies.  It’s nice.  People were going out, but frankly, I’m too exhausted to be social and too brain dead to try and figure out things like buses and cabs to get myself to and fromt he bars.  Also, I’m not sure I want to stay sober enough to be able to manage those things. And I would need to shower and put on real clothes.  I think I might be getting old! Or maybe just lazy.

O.M.G. Something amazing just happened today. My boyfriend finally admitted he loves rabbits! And, he said he wants to get himself one and bond it with Tipsy!! He called me after work to tell me that he took a break because he was thinking about rabbits so much and went to the pet store in the mall just to see if there were any rabbits to stare at and found his favorite breed and color there! A grey Holland Lop. He called me to say he wants to be a Bunny Dad. LOVE IT! I am just ecstatic right now! But I am going to have to put my foot down and let him know that we are only going to adopt!

My husband feed them last night and put the food back behind the fence but he sat it pretty close. I wasn’t paying attention when I let them out today. Jersey, yes I did! 😀 Its one of 5 rabbit paintings I made for my watercolor class. That one was my favorite.
The sculptor, surprisingly, does not have rabbits, although she says she might want one once she finishes school. I guess she is taking another semester for studio time. I thought the same thing though. I told her, when I purchased those, that I was so shocked she didnt have rabbits because she captured their personalities perfectly! There were larger ones that were bent down cleaning their bellies, some that some that sat up begging, some loafing. I was totally blown away! I think she might think I am the weirdest person ever now for how much I jumped on getting them hahah

Today I went shopping for Christmas gifts. I found the coolest thing at Big Lots (a discout store). Its a mason jar with a little butterfly that flutters around. They are so pretty!

I got so smashed last night. I played Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 with a friend. He was smashed too. It was SO fun! But, being a girl gamer is sometimes not fun. I get random messages from dudes asking if “I’m a girl” and some disgusting requests. SO, I call them out and embarss them

 

This morning, I woke up at 9 and I felt like death or like ‘I got hit by an Amtrak train.’ My head hurt, I was dizzy, and I felt like I was going to throw up  .. I skipped the gym (BAD ME!!) and I went back to sleep for another 3 hours. I felt SO MUCH BETTER!!

 

I can’t look at alcohol the same. I feel ill when I look at it

 

Back to the gym tomorrow  I’m gonna take Chacha for some Santa pix and going to see Sherlock Holmes 2!!

K&K, that is so freaking exciting! What an awesome house and beautiful land. Does it back to a pond or something? It looks like it does, but I can’t really tell. What are you going to do with the land? I love our property, but I wish we had sweeping views like that instead looking strait into the woods. How’s the kitchen? That’s always my favorite part of looking at new houses.

Thank you!! I’m like sick excited It sort of backs onto a pond, it’s a pond on county land-mostly drainage I’d assume. But that’s great because then we don’t need one on our land. We’re going to put a pool to the left of the hosue and fence a yard there (Dave says no pool this year) a garage somewhere, and the horse paddock to the right. The hot tub (which is going to happen asap-or else I’m getting a divorce lol) will be under the deck where the basement has a walkout-so it will be covered. This is a must-I wanted a hot tub when we moved here but the bylaw in my neighborhood is no fence higher than 5 feet and the law for the city is you then must have a 6 foot fence if you have more than one foot of water! So it was a no go

The kitchen is ok-it’s an open country kitchen, real tiles and silver appliances (Finally!!) no dishwasher so we’ll have to put one in asap! Gas stove-yippee! The cabinets are original hardwood so we’ll likely be staining them dark someday, and the counter top is a granite. It’s quite nice but not crazy. I’ll post pics when we have a good picture

Oh geez, I had way too much to drink last night. Not feeling so hot today!

My department came over for a lunch at my house and some of them stayed until the evening. So much fun! I love my department. One of the guys even brought his kids back and the older one made friends with the bunnies (and by friends I mean he fed them a huge bowl of pellets … lol) The little one was more interested in playing with the stuffed bunny than the real ones.

All week long, I have been unable to sleep. My brain wouldn’t let it happen. If I would lie down, it was like a little personal assistant that had way to much coffee started rambling a list of things I still needed to finish before finals week was over. Well, friends, the lazy side of me tied that little assistant up, gagged her and told her she can be released when all of the lazy person’s demands were met. So, last night, I slept from 11pm to 1pm this afternoon. IT. WAS. GLORIOUS. Now, sadly, that little assistant has been released and she is nagging me about wrapping presents and trimming Huck’s nails. BLAH!

I was feeling silly last night and tried to do a bunloaf.   Has anyone tried to do that? It’s actually kinda hard. Lol. They pull their paws up under them and sit body evenly over hocks and paws. I got the flattened ears part right though.
Anyway, I think there should be a rabbit like pose to rival planking or owling. It’s the year of the rabbit after all! Which pose I don’t know. Bunloaf just ends up looking like an egg.

So some of you might remember awhile back I was soliciting opinions about a breakfast with Santa event that a local restaurant had that involved baby bunnies.  Sadly, after calling and writing by me, my boyfriend, a couple friends willing to pretend they lived here, and a few local house rabbit society members, they went ahead and had the bunnies there.  They posted pictures and it was as bad as I thought it would be. The little kids all got to hold a bunny, standing up, over a brick floor, and based on the pictures only sort of supervised.  And they were keeping the buns in a big plastic bucket. Poor bunnies.  People suck sometimes. Hopefully they can at least be talked out of doing it again next year.

gahhh i could shoot myself right now! I post occasional cute pictures of Bunjamin on facebook for my friends and family but now a not-close friend has got a rabbit and knows NOTHING about them. I’m a first time owner but i researched and read books, and double-checked foods and still am adjusting his life to make it the happiest. She’s got hers on wire bottoms (i convinced her to put something down-she puts a towel) and feeding him carrots and water. It’s furry little thing probably 3 months old. I talked her into getting hay and pellets and litterbox but then she says she’s not getting it until tomorrow. I fear for this bunny, especially since right before she got offline she said she chopped it up more carrots and potatoes! I was like no potatoes they’re really bad for bunnies, all starches are but no response. I feel this is my fault because I post the cute good stuff about rabbits and not the stuff like their diet, or how much care they are. Have you guys been in this situation that I am with this person? what do you do? I’m having trouble getting over this and I had to be really careful about how i gave her advice too so I wouldn’t come off as crazy or pushy.

I just bought Lady’s spay certificate, I’m really excited. She’s been peeing along her pen lately and chinning EVERYTHING, from me, to every couch cushion and child toy she can find hah. I’ll get it in about 2 weeks I think, then I’ll make the appt, and then a couple weeks after I’ll start the bonding process, woohoo!

Maybe just email and write something along lines of “i remember finding this info super useful when I got Frankie and thought you might too.” link a few pages on basic rabbit care. HRS is a good place to start. Keep it simple intitially so as not to overwhelm with information.

btw, you can’t be to blame. She could have seen or met anyones pet (dog, cat, rabbit, fish..) and decided to go out and get one for herself. Happens all the time.

thanks for all the advice everyone! I’ve decided if she approaches me I’ll offer to help her go shopping and stuff but for now I’m just going to have to keep busy and not think about it. Just got done arguing with the water service. We received a notice in the mail that our bill is 6 months past due. You normally pay it every 2 months, so sometimes I lose track of whether this is the month to pay or not. Anyway, we hadn’t been getting bills in the mail, so it doesn’t get written on the calendar along with the other bills. I talked to a lady on the phone to ask her why we weren’t getting the bills and she said that we had signed up for paperless billing. I told her that I didn’t sign up for that. Then I asked if paying it online will automatically sign you up. She insisted that it was something you physically had to sign up for, like there was a different page you went to where you type in all you info and agree to it. Whatever. I went to the website again and looked around in the fine print. There it was. It said by creating an account so you can pay your bill online, you were agreeing to be signed up for the paperless billing! Those little sneaks! It was buried in all the fine print way below (you had to scroll down) the register/sign in link. That lady was such a liar. Anyway, I find that unusual because all the other bills that I pay online have a separate thing for you do go to if you want to sign up for their paperless billing. It isn’t automatic.

evidently we have been paying Frontier $35 a month for the last 2+ years, even though we cancelled in when we moved to this apartment unit. We called to cancel it again, plus the phone service we get through them, but the lady mannaged to get us a lifetime discount on our land line to compensate, so we decided to keep the phone. It’s less than half what we pay now for the phone So it worked out decently. We originally wanted to cancel cuz when we changed units, Frontier, then known as Verizon here, had said it would take 2 weeks to transfer internet to the new apartment. Seriously? No. So we switched to Comcast.

Does anyone here play Skyrim? DH and I have been looking into it and I’m looking for opinions. I know it’s supposed to be an amazing game, but I guess I’m concerned about whether or not we would like it, specifically. DH hasn’t been into the huge RPGs in the past, but I like the simpler ones (like Zelda) so I’m thinking we should branch out. Opinions? I’m mostly worried that it’ll be so complex to remember everything and deal with all of the options that I’ll be overwhelmed.

well I haven’t played skyrim but I’ve heard good things. I can tell you right now if you want a cool rpg game, my and the bf have been into team fortress 2 lately. I don’t know if you’re PC or xbox or whatever. PC version of the game is better than xbox but its now free on steam for PC. You should check it out.

Thanks FrankieFlash. We play on XBox. Generally DH sticks to shooters (like CoD, Halo, etc) which I’m not really into (I usually do the campaigns with him though). I tend to like the sandbox type games like Zelda, Red Dead Redemption, and GTA – to me those are sort of RPG-ish, but I don’t know if I would like a full on complicated RPG. I’m not very good at video games, so I’m worried I’ll be overwhelmed (DH is good at fighting the really hard battles, but I don’t want to feel like I’m lost when I try to play). I’ll have to pull up some reviews for Team Fortress 🙂

My hubby just got that game…and he really likes it. It looks pretty cool but I haven’t had a chance to play it as he hogs the PS3…lol
It is a sandbox type game so you might like it…not sure about DH…but what you could do instead of buying it right off the bat is rent it from somewhere….I don’t know if blockbuster still exists where you are…there’s also gamefly..thats what we have…and it’s pretty cooll….if you like the game i think you can buy it for a reduced price…

SirThumpsey, thanks for the input! I think there’s a definite chance I might like it. We don’t have any rental places nearby (they all closed down) but I think we’d just wait a while until the price comes down. Generally DH knows exactly which games he’ll like and buys them as soon as they come out, but then we look at all of the other top rated ones and try to figure out if there are any we should get eventually. I’m liking Skyrim as I read reviews, so I’m thinking of adding it to our games to buy list.

Haha Loafing like a bunny…. I tried that once, yeah it is impossible! I try to do binkies and Huckles just thinks I am psycho. She thumped at me once. I am pretty sure I am doing them all wrong.

My BF just got Skyrim on Sat. He hasn’t stopped playing since haha. I am not kidding….. He has been on it 100% of his waking hours when he hasn’t had to be at work. It looks like a fun game but, from what I hear, the map doesn’t come up all the time when he needs it and the graphics are designed for a much better tv than the one we have so it looks really dark and jagged.

The map comes up fine for me unless I spam the key to make it pop up, then it gets confused I did get it on xbox, as thats our preferred gaming thing for stuff that isnt shooters or MMOs. And hubby did buy a great TV, so that helps. It’s a beautiful game

Thanks for the advice, ladies! MB, it makes me feel better that you say it’s not too hard to learn – I’m kind of a doofus and I don’t want to be confused the whole game. lol I do love that there are a million side quests – I often end up doing the side quests while DH does the main fighting, so I like games that offer both so I have something to do 😛 I still think we’ll wait a bit for it to get cheaper, but I’m going to try to convince DH to get it. Luckily we have the newer Xbox (our old one broke) and it has a better processor (I should know since I manufacture them … lol). We also have a nice tv, so we should be set. I’ve heard there are some glitches with the game, but I guess that’s to be expected of any huge game.

Jersey – There wasn’t a notification that the conversation was recorded, so I’m assuming it wasn’t. We went to their business office today, which is downtown in the city/county building. We talked to someone there about it and explained to them what happened. I told them what it has on the website. So maybe they will do something to change it or at least change the way it is presented so it isn’t misleading. I don’t know though. My husband paid the past due portion and we were told we could pay the rest later when we got the next bill (which they said would come in the mail).

Remember how I said I got an A in my one class and I was waiting on the other class? Well, I finally heard from my other class. I got feedback on my project (the one where I had to interview people) and I am a bit upset. I got a B. It’s not so much that I got a B. It’s just what the professor’s comments were about my project. There was stuff in there about my project only having one data source (the interviews) and my quotes from interviewees were too long. If this was the reason I got a B, then I don’t feel it is very fair. No where in the syllabus (which outlines our projects and even provides a checklist of required things) does it say we need two data sources. As far as I knew, it wasn’t a requirement. Yes, I have a lot of long quotes. But I felt I needed to include these entire thoughts to show what the person was saying about this or that. He said many times over in class how this type of research uses “rich quotes” to tell the story through the participants’ points of view. So that part confused me too. This is especially upsetting considering how much trouble I was having. First with IRB and getting approval, then with participants that were disappearing on me. *sigh*

Was it wrong of me to send the professor an email asking about it?

LBJ I think it’s important to know these things so no, it wasn’t wrong to ask about it. Any professor who is worth anything will be happy to answer questions on marks cause without those answers, you can’t get a better grade next time. Don’t take it too hard if you don’t get a good answer from them though, it’s not your fault that you can’t read minds!

I agreed with Cassi&Charlie, as long as you’re not rude or come off as whiny and entitled (which I’m sure you didn’t, I just say that because in universities just as in high school you do get those “if I cry and make a fuss maybe I can get a better grade” types) than the professor should be more than happy to answer any questions you have about your paper. You can’t improve without proper feedback. It could even be that a B is the best that professor gives out unless someone does like, ground breaking, paradigm shifting, flawless work. I’ve definitely had a few of those. Also, don’t be surprised you get feedback but it didn’t help much, not all academics are actually good teachers. And don’t beat up on yourself too much!

I certainly didn’t want to sound whiny, especially since this is a grad level class. I know how whiny some people can get, but that’s more something you see with undergrads. LBJ, 🙁 about the grade… not that a B is by any means bad, its something to be proud of, but that assignment sounds like a pain. I hate those assignments that are so subjective right at the end of the semester. It feels like there is too much on the line to have something that uncertain as your final grade. My BF had an oral presentation worth 15% of his final. Luckily, it was one of those where if you showed up and spoke for the right amount of time and showed effort, you got a good grade.
It doesn’t sound like you came off as whiny. I hope you get a good response. 🙂

I just heard back. He said he would give me an A- for the course grade. The B was for my project. He sort of explained things, but I’m still confused. I think you guys are right, these things are very subjective. I worked very hard on the assignment. Did the interviews, wrote the paper to the best of my ability. It was hard, especially since I was out of my element here. I know nothing about this type of research and it seems most other people in the class had some experience.

 

KK – Christmas is coming along. I had to do some last minute shopping because I found out that someone already had the particular item I bought for them. I still need to wrap gifts, they are sitting in sacks at the moment. Cookies are baked, well, most of them. Not much else for me to do.

K&K, I’m sort of ready for Christmas. The house is decorated and the presents are purchased, though I haven’t wrapped anything (I’m taking tomorrow off of work, so I’ll just do it then). I’m really not looking forward to Christmas though – my MIL is being a huge drama queen about everything. I feel like all I can do is avoid talking to her when she visits because any innocent thing I say can set her off. I’m feeling like the daughter-in-law who can’t do anything right and I hate it. She’s perfectly pleasant to me, but then will go off and cry about something I said. It can be as simple as “I think it would be great to have pork for Christmas dinner”, not knowing that she doesn’t like pork. While any normal person would say “I’m not a fan of pork. How about turkey?”, she’ll never say anything about it to me, but she’ll cry and DH will have to comfort her. I hate it! I just can’t wait for Monday when she leaves (and she’s not even here yet). I used to really like her but with every passing year the drama outweighs the good.

Elrohwen, UGH! Im sorry youre dealing with that. MILs can really make life difficult sometimes…. I dont think they ever mean to… well, maybe some do… but meshing families can be such a pain!!!

I really want to go back to being a kid when I never had to worry about money or time. Right now, I am having to pick up extra shifts at my overnight job. With campus being closed, both my bf and I are not working our day jobs for three weeks!!! I want to go back to the days when all I had to worry about was what Santa thought about my behavior. I want to go back to being able to find the same keychain I had given for three years, wrapping it up in a paper towel and this being a perfectly acceptable gift for my mom. Yes, I want to be 3 again lol!

As for your mother-in-law, that is a little strange. Does she have emotional problems? I don’t mean that in a mean way, it just that it doesn’t seem normal. So I found a dead kitty outside my apartment when I was walking home from the grocery store.  I’ve seen her before so I’m pretty sure that she belongs to a neighbor.  I feel so helpless, I want to do something.  Other places I’ve lived I would have knocked on doors to find them, but I don’t really know my neighbors here and the few I’ve encountered have been a little creepy so I wouldn’t really feel safe doing that. I also don’t feel like I can do something like bury the kitty because I hope her people loved her and should be allowed to find out she’s dead. Poor kitty, she was so pretty. So I guess I will just say here as a little memorial, RIP poor little kitty, I hope your people find you and give you a proper burial, but if they were awful people who abandoned you or won’t bother to look, at least one person mourned your passing.

LBJ, she does have some anxiety and depression issues. She gets really anxious this time of year in general which I totally don’t understand – our entire family gathering consists of me, my parents, DH, his mom, and his sister – it’s not like she has to deal with a lot of people or anything and she and my mom have become good friends. So it’s just this generalized anxiety, but then she finds specific things to get upset about (like the fact that my mom wanted to make pork and fish and she doesn’t like either – so what?! it’s not hard to make something else; there is absolutely no need to cry about it). She just takes little things and turns them into dramatic moments and it’s exhausting for everybody. My mom is pretty good at keeping her calm, but it seems like she’s been worse this year than in past years, so I’m kind of nervous for how she’ll act when she actually shows up.

this is true but unless you have a pretty beefy computer I would suggest getting it on a console

you need a pretty big graphics card for it

I feel like I”m just sort of going through the motions this year. My sister said the same thing and I think it’s just because we’ve just done it so many times. 29 times! Same thing every year…buy the crap, bake the cookies, watch the movies, wrap up the crap you bought.  I feel like pulling a “Christmas with the Cranks” and just skipping it for a year. It’s fun that my sister has kids, so I agree with you there, I just love seeing them on Christmas. At 3, 7 and 9, Christmas is still super exciting!

Mike- Did you decorate a cactus? I’d like to see that!

LPT, I definitely go through the motions too. I only bother putting up the tree because our families are coming here for Christmas and I feel like not putting it up would make me a scrooge. I like seeing some of the beautiful decorations on the decorating blogs I read, but I would never go to the trouble to do that myself. I do like the time off of work though! I mean, I still have to use my vacation days, but most people take off and things are quiet there, so most people do take it off.

K&K, I’d love to hear some stories! I’m lucky that my SIL is great – we have a lot of fun hanging out with her. I love to know that other people have some craziness to deal with!

I feel like it’s just going through the motions sometimes. I don’t want it to be that way. I think I’ve twisted my husband’s arm enough now that he knows not getting me a gift is not okay. LOL I enjoy picking something out for him and trying to surprise him, so it’s nice to have something from him that he actually put some thought into.

His family is, well, worse. I really enjoy spending time picking things out for people that I think they would like. I really put a lot of thought into it. I do this and I guess his family then feels obligated to get us things. They started out pretty good in the beginning, but as time went on their efforts seemed to dwindle. Next thing I know, I’m opening things that they got for me that they obviously did not put any thought into. I get annoyed and my husband thinks I’m being shallow. I’m not meaning to sound shallow. It’s just that I really enjoy picking things out for people and it is hurtful that they do not feel the same way. Does that make sense? If they don’t want to spend the time to pick something out for me, then they don’t have to get me anything. I don’t like it that they feel obligated, like it’s some sort of chore. Then they just give me whatever because they don’t want to put in the effort.

LBJ, I’ve had some issues with DH and the present this year. Together we bought him a chainsaw and my parents bought me a stand mixer – two expensive gifts that we kind of agreed were it for us. I still thought we were getting each other something small though and bought him a movie, but he didn’t buy me anything. I told him he could wrap up the $20 earrings I bought myself a few weeks ago. lol I do kind of wish he had found something small for me on his own, but we’re honestly not gift people (we don’t give birthday gifts or anniversary gifts – we just go to dinner or on a trip) so it’s not a big deal. Maybe I’ll just hold it over his head and make him take me to dinner at my favorite restaurant soon 😛

I also don’t like getting random silly gifts – if it’s not something I want or need it’s just taking up space (this is probably why I don’t like getting or giving gifts in general). My family just works off of a gift list for this reason – nobody wants extra clutter or to stress people out thinking of gifts.

Nobody like getting junk. When I pick stuff out for people, I look for things that they would really want or need. I it because I enjoy it. I just feel hurt when other people don’t feel the same way. They just feel obligated to get me something and then it’s something that they didn’t put any thought into. So yes, I suppose you would end up calling it junk or extra clutter. LOL I do collect certain things, but they don’t even care enough to find that out. Instead I get some gourds painted to look like snowmen.

I love presents, I’m such a little kid about it. And I love buying presents and I always go way, way, way overboard, to such an extent that I usually lie to my boyfriend about how much I spent so he doesn’t feel like he has to match it, lol. Luckily though he’s a present person too.  I think being a present person is sort of like being ‘date’ person (by which I mean, some people are good at remembering things like birthdates and anniversaries and some aren’t) there’s bound to be hurt feelings sometimes if one person is and one person isn’t.

That’s such a cute video. I had a bad case of present face on my birthday. My husband knew exactly what I wanted and he got me a fake present to play a nasty trick on me with. We also try to do a gift amount limit, like $20 or something, so nobody has to stress too much. The problem is that every single person breaks the limit (the moms set it and they’re the worst about sticking to it) so it doesn’t really make sense anymore. I like the idea of it though! I can’t wait DH and I and his sister all have kids – then everybody can just buy for the kids and not bother buying for the adults.

I had a laugh this morning when Otto jumped on my lap and right into my breakfast. Usually he jumps on the couch, not directly onto my lap, so I’m not sure why he changed today but he ended up right on top of my plate. I just made a giant batch of Christmas cookies and since my bathroom is so close to the kitchen, I thought I’d put the baby gate up and let Tipsy roam around the bathroom while I baked! Cause she got spayed and all, her litterbox skills arent the best since her hormones are peaking, but now she can still feel part of the family even though she is blocked off from pooping everywhere! She was so cute… I was listening to Buble Christmas and she was sleeping while I was baking.

Yesterday, one of my customers told me that I should consider buying markdown vegetables (markdown stuff does not exist in the produce section in stuff that I buy) at other markets. She said “You know, stuff that us humans won’t eat, but your bunny would.”

Oh heck no.

Thank you, but if I DO NOT want to eat it, I wouldn’t even give it to my rabbit. I like to have produce last a few days, or until Chacha eats the entire thing. She only GETS the best!!

One of my coworkers commented on my Chacha photoalbum on facebook “This rabbit is treated better than most humans.”

I’m so pissed off right now.

I put in to get New Years Eve off, and my manager denied the day off, and told me why. She gave me an early shift, and I was totally cool with it.

Today, the assistant manager tells me “I’m changing your Saturday,” and I FOUND OUT because this other employee needs to go to a wedding! I have dinner plans, and WTF is this crap? The employee is the assistant’s favorite, so OF COURSE, bend over backward and SCREW someone else. I didn’t say anything to the assistant, wrote down my shift and walked away. I didn’t say it was okay or anything. There is no ‘Sign sheet’ where employees with schedule changes sign.

I’m going to the manager tomorrow and talking to her. THIS IS NOT RIGHT.

Chacha, I am right there with you at being angry with managers!!!
Mine is really getting to me. He keeps telling everyone that they have to stay until all of the work for the night is finished. However, the way it all works is that the freight is worked, extra is brought to the back room, then some people tidy up the sales floor and some enter the overstock into a computer and put it on a shelf for storage. We have way too much overstock right now so working with it takes a long time (finding places to put things is time consuming). Every night a handful of people do not finish their freight until 6:45am and we have to have it “binned” before we can leave. Our shift is supposed to end at 7. The boss allows some to leave but if you are binning, you are told to stay or lose your job. He never politely asks us if we would mind staying to help out the team, he threatens us. What is worse is that he is giving us an empty threat because the store’s policy states that hourly associates work their shift and are not required to clock extra hours. Often times, we are required to come in later to get rid of the extra time, which puts us behind on those nights! It is so frustrating! I dont mind spending the extra time there, I just hate being treated like that.

Oh, and LBJ, try to get 100% cranberry juice. The added sugar in cranberry cocktail or “cranberry drink” can make the problem worse (at least that is what I have been told). The more raw juice you can get, the better effect it will have. My grandma also used to recommend a 6 pack of barley beer… Im not sure if that would really do the trick or not but it might be fun trying to find out haha

I didn’t say anything because the assistant manager is the type of person that you don’t know how she’ll react to things. As one of my coworkers says: You don’t know if her reaction will be nice or mean. When I go into work today at 3, I am hoping my mananger will be there. I am off tomorrow. If my manager isn’t there, there isn’t much I can do about it =/ *crossing fingers*

My dad got angry today at the gym.

I was doing bicep curls, and a personal trainer comes waltzing in and pinches my shoulder and tells me to stand up straight, and crap. I was so pissed.

First: I was IN THE MIDDLE of my set.
Second: YOU are not my trainer, DO NOT TOUCH ME!

My dad saw it and he talked to the manager, and the manager talked to the trainer. The trainer walked up to my dad and my dad chewed him out O_O

I was in such shock when the trainer pinched my shoulder. I even said “OWWW!” but he wouldn’t let go.

Rule: Do not mess with my dad. He will bite, and bite very hard.

you were not a contracted client of that trainer. in the eyes of the law that is no different than if they had grabbed your butt while doing squats.
talk to the manager again and ask him to call the police because you are pressing assault charges against the trainer. then ask for the number of their representative from corporate headquarters (or owner if it is a small gym).

I understand him wanting to help, but in the middle of a set? That is just setting up for an injury because it can surprise the person. I get startled because I zone out when I do things.

lol, i wish!

I spoke to my manager today, and when I told her, she said “I GAVE THAT SHIFT SPECIFICALLY TO YOU!!” and stormed off, and changed my shift back LOL!! I was so scared and so grateful. I thanked her later.

There are 2 assistant managers at my job. both are leaving to other stores on Jan 1st (assistant managers have to switch stores every 3 years) and one of them is REALLY awesome. She is the most laid back, down to earth woman that I’ve ever worked with. I’m going to miss her to death During the summer, she gave me an entire bag FULL of romaine lettuce from her garden!

Rocket Bun, Ready for Launch…

 

Just saw this on CuteOverload and it made me giggle so I thought I’d share. I was at the bookstore yesterday and bought my CuteOverload PageADay Calendar half-price! Yay! I usually get it for Christmas but I didn’t this year so it was great to find it on sale.

I need some cute cheering up today. Mystee is very unwell. We’re going to the vet today to get her another anti-inflammatory shot but this will be her last one. Hopefully it will buy us some more time with her. She seems to still be in good spirits, still trying to scratch the furniture (which is funny because she’s de-clawed) and loving spending time with her Daddy. But she’s having a really hard time eating the last couple of days and I can tell she’s really uncomftorable in her mouth. It saddens me greatly to know she won’t be around much longer as well as knowing the dreaded decision is coming soon. I’ve never had to make that decision before. My animals always just passed away on their own or gave us zero choice in the matter (when my diabetic cat went into a sort of coma).

I’m bringing Mr. Bindi to the vet at the same time for his ear re-check. He just finished his meds on Wednesday so keep your fingers crossed for him! I better bundle up my babies really good, it’s like -20C out there!

Aww poor Mystee. =( I remember when you first posted about it, so I was wondering how things were going. I still feel so awful about my kitty and he’s been gone almost 3 years.

Well, I finally broke down and went to the urgent care clinic. I couldn’t stand it anymore. I would have to wait another 4 days before I could go to the health center at school since they are closed for the holiday break. They gave me antibiotics, so things should be good now. I’m just worried about the bill. They filed with my “insurance”, but I don’t know if it will pay for it or not. All the card says is that there’s a $400 deductible, no mention of a co-pay since you’re supposed to use it at the health center. *sigh*

LBJ, ask the billing department if they have any financial assistance programs. It couldn’t hurt to try. Im glad you are going to feel better soon.

Huckleberry – I’ll have to see who I will owe the money to I guess. Since it was submitted, the insurance may pay the clinic and then expect me to pay the insurance back. If that’s the case, then I doubt they would reduce the amount.

Leopold bit me so hard last night, I wanted to cry. He was just sitting in my lap and then CHOMP! He bit my knee, through my jeans. If I hadn’t had the jeans on, he surely would have drawn blood. There were two tooth mark indentations in my skin and it was turning black and blue. =\

He bites me for no apparent reason most of the time, but sometimes he bites me because he wants me to stop grooming him or whatnot. On this particular occasion, I wasn’t grooming him. He was just sitting in my lap and I assume wanted off. Why he didn’t just get off is beyond me. It’s not like he couldn’t.

I”m happy that my customers return to me and ask “how is your rabbit?” but there are ones that i want to slap with my scanning gun. one lady let me talk about chacha bun and she went onto to say that they used to raise rabbits and er… yeah. it made me REALLY UPSET. why would you mention something like that to someone that KEEPS a rabbit in a house as a pet? =/

A customer tried putting an 18 pack of beer on the belt. i told him nicely to keep it in the cart, and he said “you need the exercise anyway.” i said back to him “i already exercised today,” which is true . he shut up and the customer that i was ahead of him held in a laugh :X. it is always men with bellies that say that comment and it makes me want to tell them “dude, YOU exercise.” but, i’m not mean.. and i can’t be meant at my job >_<

2 more days of work until i am on a 5 day vacation! i’m not sure how my diva will like that!

Haha! I have mean customers too. Sometimes you just have to take it. I remember years ago, there was this woman with some sort of complex going on in her head. She came to me to ask about the shapewear. I showed where it was. Then she asked “do you know anything about these?”. Before I could even answer, she very abruptly said “oh, what am I asking you for. You’re such a string bean!”. I didn’t say anything and just left her there. What’s sad is that this woman was 2 sizes smaller than I was! So I don’t know if she had some sort of eating disorder or what.

Yesterday, I had something funny happen though. A customer called saying that he had purchased some earrings for his wife and one pair had apparently not made it into the bag. I asked him what they were and then told him I would call him back when I found them. I found them a short time later and I went to call him back. Right as I went for the phone, it started ringing. I answered, it was him. The conversation:

Him: I’m sorry to have bothered you, but I found the earrings. They were wrapped in tissue paper instead of being put inside the gift box.
Me: That’s okay, I’m glad you found the earrings.
Him: Thank you so much for your time. Have a happy new year.
Me: You too.
Him: Okay, love you, goodbye.
