Dead wolf pelts??????

Just came to the BB page, and I know there have to be ads here, and you probably have no control over what is there, but there was just a pic of a man happily displaying dead wolf pelts! What the heck! We’re all animal lovers and that really creeped me out! :-/

Ad services pick things based on the content of the page you are viewing, it’s a script based thing. BB can ask the ad company to block out certain sites if you grab the URL of the offensive ones and send them in a report.

You know, you’re thinking rabbit fur because you have bunnies and they have fur everywhere. LOL  Then Google thinks, rabbit fur=pelts=wolf pelts.

This is actually a very good post as I can use the chance the inform others on what to do when they come across ads like this. Thank you for posting this.

It is true that not everyone would see this same ad, as if you are searching something on the net, then the google ads will cater to your search (though some are just generic). For example, I was searching skincare products, mascara reviews and bike messenger bags. Now all the ads have to do with eyelashes, anti-aging skin and messenger bags! You'd think I was an aging, long lashed, city bike messenger if you saw what ads catered to me. LOL!

When searching for rabbits though , it is not uncommon for some nutty stuff to be picked up on. So for everyone: Regardless though, even though the ad you see may have been catered to your net search and only you can see the ad you are offended by, I can still block the offensive ads at least on our site, so don't hesitate to contact us and give us the URL (you should be able to right-click on the ad and get the URL). I will then go into our google ads account and block that site. If it's something goofy, strange or embarrassing, don't worry — I've seen it all!

Thanks for explaining that, BB. I have gotten several ads that I couldn’t stand, and alerted her. Happily most have been removed. One was a really creepy guy selling t-shirts. Very yucky.
Some of these ads do come back – like gum on your shoe. Just keep reporting it to us and BB will fix it. (The rest of us will tell her then go play with our bunnies.)

It might have also picked up something someone at your IP was searching-maybe you or someone signed a petition against wolf hunting?
I find the ads on here really smart-they knew I was looking at wedding rings….and fancy dressage bridles lol

Firefox-if you use it, has excellent ad blocking add ons -you won’t need to see an ad again if you don’t want to
