My dad has been having some issues with his foot and got recommended to see a foot doctor today. X-Rays were done and he will be having surgery in April. What he has is called a ‘Foot Spur.’

I’ll be taking care of him as much as I can when I’m at home.

My dad sounded a little scared when he said the doctor said he would have to be put under for the surgery. He said he mentioned to the doctor that he is scared of that.. his brother (my uncle) was put under for emergency surgery a few years ago and he died on the operating table. My uncle had metastatic liver cancer (he had no idea) at the time and he passed.. right there . I can understand my dad’s fear of that.

This will be an out patient thing.. he’ll be going home the same day, but I’m sure he isn’t looking forward to going up 3 stairs to get to our apartment . Why can’t those wind about chairs that are in the movie “UP” exist?

Awww *hugs* Surgery, though so safe, is scary let alone with something happening to his brother My dad had surgery for kidney stones when I was young and though routine, we were all scared. *hugs* and {{Vibes}} for your dad. And hopefully an easy trip up stairs.

Realize that emergency surgery and liver cancer involved major surgery that would take hours to complete. A foot spur, and out patient surgery in general isn’t too much to worry about as the time that they are under is very short.
