  Sticker, have you seen the original video? I just found it on youtube. ETA: http://www.youtube.com/watch The birds owner responds to the comments so it give a little info. Plus the bird has a fanpage! I had no idea they were so entertaining. This is a form of play?

  Yes, birds love to dance and respond to music as play jersey. My parrot bounces his head and will even sing along to certain songs. I just have a little one though, so he’s not that good at it – the larger ones do better. Like Lolita – http://www.youtube.com/watch
  
  Entertaining BUT high maintenance – so anyone who might go “oh it’s cute!” unless you want a 2 year old child you have to take everywhere, destroys your house, annoys the neighbors with loud noises and never grows up (with a lifespan of 50-75 years) I wouldn’t recommend them.

  Good caution. I noticed in some of the comments in these videos people do say they’re going to go get one now… who knows if they actually do, probably get distracted by the next utube video.

  A lot of them do. I am a mod on a bird forum and frankly the amount of people who get mad at their birds for just being birds is pretty high. The playful antics and beautiful feathering makes people fall for them, so they get a bird. Then the bird starts screaming due to boredom from lack of toys, attention and space so they cover it to shut it up, which after years of being cage bound and covered leads to plucking… which leads to the poor babies thrown out with bare chests and self-mutilation habits. There are constantly ads for large parrots around me on craigslist and they are all bald from plucking, with the note “I don’t have time for the bird, need to find it a new home”. The warmer states have issues with people releasing parrots into the wild. So I always put cautions with these types of videos – birds just like bunnies are not for everyone and the large ones are only for rare people who basically want a feathered child, they are way too smart (if you want to see how smart, look up Alex the African Grey) for most people to be able to handle them.
  
  But, they are beautiful and funny to watch. My mother has a CAG (she found it in the wild in Florida and original owners were not able to be found, think he might have been released, he has cage bound habits) and he is a riot. He torments the poor dogs calling them by name and making kissing noises, so they run around looking for the human calling them. And when my brother entered the house one time the bird yelled “GET OUT!” lol

  I love the big birds but would never own one. I definitely think birds are not for everyone.
  
  I have a little cockatiel and he’s handful enough. He does screech quite a bit which can be annoying for sure. And he loves to ring bells and make lots of noise. That’s about the only toy I’ve ever found that entertains him.

  I had that exact thought about rabbits earlier. You really can’t expect and animal not in its natural environment to completely conform to ours. Or not display it’s primary nature.
  
  I’ll have to look up Alex. There’s and african grey video I like where it’s singing then tells the dog to shoosh when it interrupts.

  Sarita, mine is a cockatiel as well. I couldn’t own a large parrot, too much like a child! My little bird is enough for me.
  
  jersey, yeah bunnies get it too, with their digging/chewing… it’s just what they do and you have to adjust what you do to fit them, or deal with it. If you do look up Alex, it’s a bit of a sad story, as he plucked since his bond mate (the lady who owned him) was away so much for her research he couldn’t deal with it. But he was a genius bird and really showed what parrots can do and how smart they are.

  If I ever got anything larger then a cockatiel, it would have to be a toucan! They are sooooo awesome! Like I said big parrots scare me. Once I was in a pet store, talking to my husband and I did not notice a cockatoo perched behind the register. She jumped onto the counter to say hi and got right in my face. I screamed, jumped back and nearly knocked over an aquarium. I am not scared of snakes or spiders (I love them). But I will never get too close to a parrot and bees make me cry like a baby.
  
  Conures are cool, but they scream waaaaaay too much for me.
