So if you are a TV watcher, like me, what are some of the shows that you regularly watch and enjoy?
Maybe I’m missing something on TV that I need to start watching ![]()
The ones I watch pretty regularly are:
HGTV – most Saturday design shows.
Chopped
60 Minutes
Pawn Stars
Storage Wars
Project Runway
Hoarders
History Detectives
Antiques Roadshow
My favorites are
Animal Planet animal cops Huston
Food Network cupcake wars
Pawn Stars
American Pickers
Animal Planet dogs 101
Rabbit Lover- I used to love Animal cops… but I don’t care for how they handle Pit Bull rescues and the stuff they put out about about Pit Bulls… I found out the Huston Humane Society is a sketch with Pit Bulls…. and they are the people who want to give Vick a dog again… But that used to be one of my favorites too.
I also love shows like Pawn Stars and American Pickers! I like antiques,
Mine are:
Teen Wolf.
The Walking Dead.
Misfits.
Pit Bulls and Parolees. (lol surprised?)
Pit Boss.
I don’t like TV much, so my list isn’t that big. :/
There are so many shows that my friends keep talking about that I’m sure that I would enjoy, but I’m afraid to start because it would take so much time to catch up on…and I know I’d try to do it all in one week and get nothing else done, haha. But currently:
Doctor Who
Big Bang Theory
okay so I probably watch way to much TV so I’ll list a few. I already found one I like in all of your guys lists so I guess we could watch tv together.
Big Bang Theory
Modern Family
South Park
Storage Wars
L&O SVU
Family Guy
Rizzoli and Isles
The Office (although admittedly I haven’t watched the last 2 seasons when they changed things
)
But I watch a lot of things… haha
oh and bones! i love bones and I’m sad I almost forgot them.
Modern Family
Up All Night
Whitney
Revenge
Hawaii 5 O
I used to watch a lot
True Blood
Dexter
NCIS
Bones
House
Greys Anatomy
Private Practice
Desperate Housewives
Smallville
pretty much any reality series on Discovery
Chopped
Body of Proof
Once Upon a Time
NCIS
CSI:NY
Big Bang Theory
I like an odd variety. I watch some “horrible” reality shows like:
Jersey Shore
Tough Love
Real World
I Used to be Fat
Teen Mom
16 and Pregnant
I really like Masterpiece Classic and sometimes Mystery.
Other shows I like are pretty much all comedies – I don’t have the attention span for the hour long drama/cop shows. lol
Psych
Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother
Dexter
The Office
Glee
I also watch some stuff on HGTV, especially Candice Olsen and Sarah Richardson – I DVR them and watching when I’m bored.
And finally – Jeopardy! We watch it every night while we eat dinner.
My new favorite show is The Big Bang Theory. I never watched it before, but now that TBS is playing reruns a few nights a week, Mike and I have both gotten into it (it’s better than the same old episodes of Family Guy or The Office!) So i could watch that nonstop, and I’ve asked for the seasons for Xmas… (My computer desktop wallpaper is SHELDON!)
I like non-trashy reality shows: Flipping Out, American Pickers, whatever Gordon Ramsey is doing, and the list goes on…
I DO watch the occasional “trashy show”: mostly 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom… and there’s a new show Secretly Pregnant which I’ve been DVRing….
I’ve really gotten into Sister Wives and All-American Muslim… It’s fascinating learning how other people live (who are very different from me) but still face many of the same day to day issues.
Regular TV: Two and A Half Men (Ashton Kutcher looks ridiculously hot with long hair… yum), The Middle, CSI, Sunny in Philadelphia…
I’m a bit of an MSNBC junkie, love me my Lawrence, Ed, and Rachel….
Daytime I will sometimes watch Dr. Phil if it sounds interesting….
And I know I’m leaving stuff out. We DVR everything and then watch it the next day so we can skip commercials…
We should start a Teen Mom discussion thread… lol…
Beka, you are truly my long lost sister! Lol….
Doctor Who (nothing else compares)
Fringe
Big Bang
House (I love to try to beat him to diagnosis)
Masterpiece or Mystery
Gordon Ramsay shows
Lydia’s Italy (like going home again)
News…although it gets old, and usually some talk radio as well
Other than that it’s usually what my daughter is watching, she’s a tv junkie. Her current fave, along with the above, is Once Upon a Time
Oops…forgot Nature, Nova and whatever national dog show is on once a year. ![]()
I love to watch Judge Judy! LOL
I also like…
Mythbusters
Fact or Faked
Pit Bulls and Parolees
Doctor Who
South Park
Family Guy
American Dad
and Big Bang Theory when it’s on
Oh and don’t laugh, but I’m a huge Days nut. I have to record it so I can watch it.
Hmm. The shows I watch at least semi-regularly:
Castle
House
Vampire Diaries
Bones
Walking Dead
Dexter
Parenthood
Eureka
True Blood
Merlin
Once Upon A Time
Glee
Days of Our Lives? Oh man, my mom’s favorite soap. I watched it for quite a few years, Bo & Hope were my fave couple. Daughter had it on in the background this week while tending her new puppy and I saw them and old Stefano having a go. I was stunned, “Holy cow, these 3 are still on the show?! How many times have they all died and been ressurected?!”
I love the family tree lighting they do every year. I wish my family had all those named ornaments to gather together and hang up.
They’re quite a tv dynasty.
Big Bang Theory
GhostHunters
Everything on HGTV
Judge Judy
Once Upon a Time
Gordon Ramsey
Pawn Stars
Pickers
MythBusters
The Office
Is Merlin still in production? I loved that show.
I don’t see where it’s gone.
MimzMum – LOL, yes! And you are right.
I love Judge Judy too! Lol… Another guilt pleasure…
I need to watch this Big Bang Theory – my Mom watches this also…gotta see what it’s all about!
I also love Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares – he’s hot! A little gruff but hot.
Hmmm I don’t watch much tv, I like House and Family Guy though. Really though I like shows about science and the cooking channel ![]()
Ahh I also love NOVA and science documentaries! And South Park, haha.
Mimzmum – Agreed, nothing compares to the Doktah!
lately I’ve been watching drop dead diva.. brooke elliott is HILARIOUS, as well as margaret cho.. and april bowlby. the whole cast is just very well put together, in my opinion.
anything that has to do with food is good in my book =P gordon ramsay’s kitchen nightmares is one of my favorites, because I like to scoff and say “THEY’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT” or “THEY SHOULD DO ___”… parents have owned a diner for the past 12 years, I can’t help it. =X
All this talk about food channels has me thinking about the Shake Weight. ROFL
Parks and Rec
Grey’s Anatomy
Private Practice
The Office
Modern Family
And…the Bachelor! Of course. So silly, but so juicy.
We do not have cable and there is nothing that interests me on the 3 channels we get, so I mostly watch netflix.
Right now I am watching
Doctor who!!! ( I personally think its the best TV show out there)
I also sometimes what older TV shows such as
Mcgiver
The incredible Hulk
Night rider
etc.
dexter
blue bloods
pit bull & parolees
intervention
hawii 5-0
ncis
modern family
glee
new girl
criminal minds
the good wife

Yes.. Big Bang is hilarous. My dad and I watch it religiously ![]()
almost my whole family loves big bang. I find it amusing that most people on here do too. ![]()
Oh my word, you mean the Hoff is still out there with KITT in reruns somwhere? 0_o
I loved that show. Had the RC car. Used to watch that and Miami Vice all the time…and then Boobwatch…er…I mean Baywatch. (Loved those abs & speedos…lol.)
Have to agree with Sarita about Gordon, personally it’s the accent that gets me everytime. David Tennant has a nice one too. Darn those Scots!
I also liked a satellite show on BBCA called The Choir. Not sure if it’s still on because hubby has threatened to cancel our subscription so many times I’ve quit watching it.
Peppy, have you ever seen any of the older episodes of Doctor Who? They had tons of the old 60’s& 70’s DVD’s at my B&N until recently. If I could’ve afforded them I’d get every season they had back to the beginning.

I don’t have cable either, but hulu (free in US) shows most of the popular modern shows the week after air, plus most channels carry their shows for free on their websites. And I have a few other sources for videos as well, I don’t have cable cause I see no point in it paying $80 or so a month when I can get all the shows I want for free. lol

I don’t have cable either…I actually don’t have a TV at all, haha. I watch all my programs online.
Mimzmum – no I haven’t…it’s on my to-do list when I get a good break from school though. And agreed on Tennant’s Scottish accent, too bad he didn’t use it in the show!
You go one up on me peppy lol we have a small TV for watching DVDs on, or playing playstation, but it doesn’t get used too much. Computers really do take over. ![]()
I forgot to add Hawaii 5-0!!! I love that show
It makes me so homesick ![]()

Haha, I never had the habit of watching TV when I was growing up, since in my house it made you a vulnerable target for “it looks like you don’t have anything to do…go do chores!” So instead, I developed an equally bad habit – wasting hours in front of the computer where I could pretend I was doing homework or something
. When I got to college I realized how many great shows I could watch online…and then my productivity only went downhill from there, heh.

I DO watch the occasional “trashy show”: mostly 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom… and there’s a new show Secretly Pregnant which I’ve been DVRing….
I dont have very much cable either. It’s like there is no real reason to have it anymore. I have basic cable, which is just local channels like ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, CW, and WGN (I dont know if those last two are channels other people get or if its just local, I assume its nationwide though)
I watch a lot of Simpsons reruns bc I have the DVDs and its good back ground noise. It blocks out the noise from my neighbors and the hospital traffic across the street.
On tv:
How I Met Your Mother
Dr Who
Red/Green Show
American Dad (and consequently Family Guy, though I feel it is a less funny American Dad, and that isn’t all that funny to begin with)
Nova (I love the stuff they talk about but bf and I usually make fun of the silly analogies they make, for ex, “if we were on a piece of bread and were ants” to help explain string theory, and how many times they repeat the same idea)
I don’t actually have a TV, and have only had on one sporadically for the past… five years or so. As a result I own a lot of TV on DVD, and most of it is from the 90s, lol. This has conditioned me to HATE commercials. The only shows I watch on my computer the day after they air are the Daily Show and the Colbert Report, and that’s only because I can’t buy them and if I could, they wouldn’t be as funny anymore. Shows that I watch that are currently on (but I’m a season or so behind on):
True Blood
Psych
The Big Bang Theory (like everyone here apparently. I have a theory about bunny slavedom and its relationship to nerd-dom.)
Pretty much any crime show/police procedural (I’m a morbid nerd)
I used to watch Glee because it was really cheap to buy on amazon instant video, but it got too expensive in relationship to how much I like the show, lol. Maybe after the season is over it’ll get cheap again.
I want to get back to Dexter but it never seems to happen.
Kate, i think that is correct. Slavedom + nerdom = same thing. ONly other slaves and nerds understand.
I gave in 2 months ago and have Hulu Plus.
