Just wonder how you found the fourm?
I was introduced to it by a former Forum Leader, MooBunnay. She moved to my area and started volunteering at a rabbit rescue I was also volunteering at.
When I was looking into getting Powder, I joined another bunny forum – but it was full of breeders and people who kept outside bunnies so I wasn’t too inclined to like their advice, they said the best foods to feed were Mannapro and Purina Rabbit Chow (even for people who were just keeping the buns as house pets), cages looked too small that they recommended, etc. So I went looking for a house rabbit forum, since I wanted him to live a life as a spoiled house pet and figured a house bunny specific forum would be better at enabling me to do that – this was the first one I found from my google search. ![]()
I found it through a link at the House Rabbit Society. When we got Hodari we just had a large pet store cage for her, one of those Super Pet models with the plastic bottom. It was the largest type of those cages that they sell, but, once we put her in there, it was apparent that it was in no way suitable for a rabbit, at least not by itself. I was interested to see how other people house their rabbits, so I wound up at the HRS website, saw the link for Binky Bunny, and lurked for a while before becoming a member.
When I first got Mocha I was very inexperienced at the time. I was looking online on how to make some homemade rabbit toys when I found some pictures with rabbits inside in NIC condos. I though that was so cool! I can’t remember if I searched for house rabbits or if I was still looking for rabbit toys when I found this site.
I googled “rabbit/bunny forums”. I was a few days from picking up Zeus, and since he was going to be my first bunny I knew I was going to want help from more experienced people.
I searched a question on Google (forget what) and this forum popped up because there was a thread on it ![]()
I don’t remember. It feels like I’ve been here forever… lol.
I was doing oodles of googling about rabbits before getting Tait and I kept getting the info sections here and then found the forum and fell totally in love ![]()
I can’t remember. I think I was on another forum and this one was suggested.
I was researching about rabbits on the internet and found this site. It has helped me GREATLY, and Spooky’s quality of life.
I was googling rabbit behavior.
I found this forum through Google right after we got Remi…I think the first thing I posted was a question about how he’s skittish and no-touchy, haha.
I found a bunny (Nova) abandoned in a park. I was worried she was pregnant and what I should do, now that she hadn’t died from the shock of being caught (I honestly thought that was going to happen). I had had another rabbit that died the day after I got Nova, and while I didn’t know why, I now know that he probably died of GI stasis (though he had some other problems, like only one testicle). I wouldn’t have even got another rabbit if I hadn’t found Nova. Well I was heavily involved with a rat forum at the time, but they knew little about rabbits. We had a copy of the HRS handbook in my house, but it wasn’t able to answer my questions about finding a possibly pregnant rabbit in a park. So I Googled something and found Binky Bunny!
Of course at 16/17 or whatever, I wasn’t exactly inclined to follow the advice given and actually take her to the vet, especially because even though I cared about my new bunny, my experience was that they did tend to die frequently (someone I knew bred, and I got my bunnies from her, and her bunnies often didn’t live very long). So Nova surprised me and gave birth to two stillborn babies, though that would have happened anyways because of all the stress she went through. I did get her spayed soon after, once she got some weight put on her (something about an 80+% chance of cancer was very persuasive!). And her diet was better. Though not enough veggies, (sometimes none) she did always have hay. Now she is very well cared for, and I owe much of what I know to BB. When taking her into the vet, I was told she was a very spoiled bunny. ![]()
I stumbled across BB while searching the Internet about bunnies. It’s been my favorite, most accurate source for rabbit info, and it really helped me to become a better owner. You guys helped me through a lot, from litter training to moving Hazel to be a free range bun. I love it here!
I don’t remember. It feels like I’ve been here forever… lol.
Ditto! I honestly can’t remember. Most likely I did a search for a rabbit forum.
Probably through The Google – the same way I find everything else 😉
My mom told me that if I got a rabbit I would be taking care of it myself… I was 17 so I googled and stumbled upon this site. Smudge’s lifestyle became a long standing (good-natured) joke with my whole family, no one could believe the amount of time/space I had dedicated to a rabbit but they all loved her just the same. Or feared her, which was probably for the best lol.
I think i was looking up information on how to care for bunnies….or maybe I was specifically looking for a bunny forum…either way this is the first one that popped up and I ‘m glad it was cuz I love it here! ![]()
I googled ‘rabbit forum’ ![]()
I had done many bunny searches for different things on google and so many times I kept up ending up here!
So then I figured I better join ![]()
it was after I got Monkey, almost 3 years ago. Wanted to know more about rabbits, did some searching online, stumbled across this site. Never left
*sets up tent in the BB courtyard*
I actually found the store first. I think through hrs or mhrs Facebook. Signed up to be notified when tunnel came in stock. And forgot about the site– sorry bb- until I got that notification it was in and I came back to the site and started exploring. I was timid to join a forum (I was a forum virgin
) but once I was reading everyone’s advice I was like hey hey I got a question and it all bubbled up from there. Now I’m hooked ![]()
Google.
Was looking for info on everything when I got Jersey. I even had the BB mini forum thingy on my iGoogle page for a while.
This is the only bunny forum I’ve ever been on. I have everything I need here, so no point in going anywhere else. ![]()
I was reading the book Rabbits for Dummies. At the last few pages I saw the BB website and came here. Found this is a great site and stuck around.
Add me as another Googler. I went searching for house-bunny info and found a goldmine of it here. ![]()
Ok – I’m guilty of falling in love with one rabbit – who before I was ready to commit was adopted, then started wanting a pair so I started reading up on them and found this place to be recommending in teaching how to set up their environment.
But in the end – I got Buck from a humane society which worked great, already neutered, and gorgeous in color!
Still need to post some pictures… haha
Google, I believe. I was looking for rabbit toys or information.
This site has educated me, and in return, has helped me educate others about house rabbits
I’m known as the ‘Rabbit Lady’ at work, and my customers will return to my line to talk to me about bunnies. Last one, one said “Take care of that bunny!” ![]()
I found the store on the House Rabbit Society’s page for recommend supply people and I saw the forum tab and clicked on it. I stalked for awhile, but everyone seemed nice (such a breath of fresh air compared to the general hostility of other corners of the interwebz.)
We found the forums through the House Rabbit Society website links while we were looking for information on how to take care of the little rabbit we found on the street. That was almost four years ago. It took over a year before we introduced Bumblebunny. We don’t post much but we look at the site every day.
