Hello all,
This is a neat little trick I discovered for keeping rabbits safe when jumping from high furniture. autumn suffers from sore hocks so I have been trying everything and found dog beds made with memory foam. I got one for her to lay on but she wasn’t keen on sitting on it (what a surprise
little scamp), but it does an excellent job as a spongy crash mat to break her fall when she jumps from the bed. on discovering this I got another and lined them up along the bed. she used to slam down even with secured throws on the floor, now there is no sound and a very soft landing.
They are so comfortable I could sleep on them all night! this makes floor time much easier too while I believe it to ward off arthritis in later years (in rabbits), sore hocks and other injuries.
If you decide to try this, find dog beds that have two layers under a removable cover- memory foam and a stiffer base foam.
