  Got a call within the last hour that she was being whisked off to hospital, something about her blood sugar crashing. She is a diabetic and very ill with numerous maladies, not the least of which is glaucoma, also having just buried her brother last year who died from complications from diabetes.
  
  We desperately need prayers/vibes.
  
  My OH is waiting to hear news. This is very distressing, naturally, but will all the other things we have going on right now it’s a disaster to think of anything happening to her.
  
  My kids will be distraught and I’m not sure I can break the news to them well.
  
  Just hoping she pulls through.

  I would break the news very undramatically. My MIL always breaks news to us dramatically and I think it’s very upsetting for Dave-she’ll just text ‘your sister has cancer’ (This seriously happened). Anyways, my point-do it on the phone not by text if you can, and just be frank-this is what happened, you don’t know anything yet and your worried.

  Thanks everyone.
  Got a call this evening, she is being kept overnight for observation, she did have a fall and was very dehydrated so they are working to correct that. No broken bones though, thank God.
