Coughing

My Quinn was eating her hay and she started having a coughing fit. She was coughing constantly for about 30 seconds. She didn’t stand up or put her head up or anything like that. I hear occasional coughs from her but this one really scared me. I’ve never heard her cough like that before. She doesn’t have any discharge around her nose. She doesn’t have a fever. She isn’t acting weird. And she’s still eating/drinking and pooping/peeing, so I don’t think she’s sick. Does anyone have any idea what caused this? And is it something I need to see the vet about? Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again in the future?

Could it have been sneezes instead of coughing? Every once in a while some hay dust will tickle Luna’s nose and she will sneeze a bunch of times in a row.

^ ^ I too wondered if it was actually sneezing. I’ve never seen or heard my bunnies cough but sometimes they do sneeze.

Yeah, sneezing constantly for 30secs or more can occur. Again, confirmation on sneeze v. cough?

Cute tiny sneeze . Another thought – could it have been hiccups? I’ve only seen Luna hiccup on two occasions, but they also lasted for about 15-30 seconds.
