Wow, I actually figured out how to embed a video!  ::doing the happy bunny dance::

I bought one of the snicky snack balls that were mentioned on previous posts here on BB- and my bunnies love it.  They push it all around with their nose, they occasionally get frustrated and grab and flip it around but it does keep their interest.

Of course the dogs have to make an appearance in the video- just scoping out to make sure the rabbit wasn’t getting something so awesome it was worthy of stealing away from her.  Though later, I did catch Skye with her paw on the ball gently rolling it back and forth getting the fruit to drop out so she (the dog) could eat it.  Those Aussie’s are too smart for their own good sometimes!

This is where I got mine from….

              http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produ…atid=19839

I am not sure if anywhere else sells it.  It was in a box with 3 or 4 different languages on it.  I thought the box was odd- I should have kept it to identify the manufacturer- but I didn’t think of it and I threw the box away.

Thru the end of May 2009- only a couple more days- if you use coupon sode: 3385/2145  you will get 50% off ground shipping for your whole order.

Awww Cotton! So funny! Just yesterday I was going to get footage of Jers doing same thing to post in toy section. You’ve saved me the bother. It’s a great toy isn’t it?!!! They get exercise too.

Skye is to die for – so, so lovely.   (Your dogs have their own treat bunnyballs right? lol )
Bunnyliz, you can pretty much just get dog treat balls.

Skye is such a pretty dog and so dainty and smart- it is hard to believe that Molson is her 7 month younger half brother.  He is happy-go-lucky, dumber than a rock, and sloppy after he drinks.

The whole pile of toys overflowing out of the toybox in the corner- that is the dogs toybox- so they obviously are not lacking in the toy dept.  They have quite a few treat toys that are stuffed with cookies and peanutbutter- and if Schroeder is around he wants to take the toy away from the dogs- Schroeder is such a garbage gut!

Hey! I want my dogs to just lay there and let my bunnies run over them while pushing a ball around the room!

What a cute video and it looks like it keeps her active mentally and physically.

                          Oh that’s cute =)
I want to buy some for the shelter I like to visit!

And I’ll get one for my bunny… if I ever get a bunny… but I think my dog would like it? What do you put in it to get your dog not to eat it?

Well, I did learn not to put the ball on the couch- because it rolled over by me and Cotton was convinced there was a Craisin under me and I got quite a nip on my thigh.  She is serious about her treat consumption and she was taking no chances that there was a piece under my leg.

To be honest- the day before- I closed the dogs in the bedroom- set the ball out- even with 2 pieces of dried fruit leading up to it- and I brought Schroeder up.  He was so convinced there was something shady going on he would not go near the ball.  The dogs were MIA and I had a camera- he avoided the ball completely.  By the time I brought Cotton upstairs later it was too dark to get a video.

So the next night I decided Cotton would be the video star and set it up for her- ball in middle of room- little fruit trail to it.  I didn’t close the dogs up since I didn’t want Cotton to be suspicious about their absence.  I use dried fruit in the ball- mainly Craisins, blueberries and cherries.  I cut the bigger pieces with kitchen shears so they are more uniform and will dispense- plus the bunnies think they are getting more that way.  I don’t use raisins because they can be toxic to dogs.

Our dogs are that good with the bunnies- they frequently check for poos- since they love to eat those.  But they know that is the bunnies ball- and that is why Skye looked up at me with the look that she did after she layed at my feet.  That was the “I know it is not mine, but could you reconsider?”  An hour or 2 later I caught Skye with the ball after Cotton lost interest- she had her paw on the ball and was rolling it just right to dispense the few remaining pieces.

Now thats a content bunny.    Ruby likes to push things too so that is a good idea for her too.

That’s what I was referring to earlier – their very own bunnyball that dispenses treats. lol  You can give them actual dog treats but nothing beats bunny berries right?  It’s like with the buns, you can buy toys but nothing beats a cardboard box.

So cute! I might have to get one of those! Did it take her awhile to figure out that there were treats in it, or did she pick up on it right away? And you put pellets in?

I love your dogs, they are so pretty, and it’s awesome that they can let Cotton do her own thing. That is exactly what I want in a dog someday, one that could care less that we have bunnies.
